Overall we enjoy the food here, and the Sunday Brunch has a good selection.
We have been going back over the years- could use a bit of updating in the décor.
Love all the different size rooms which can be very private if needed.
We were greeted by very friendly host and quickly seated with an option to sit in a quiet or more lively room. Our waiter was very attentive, offering suggestions and going out of his way to make our visit meaningful and comfortable. I would love to go back and try other menu options. They have a very extensive wine list from $35 - the hundreds! I believe their corking fee is high at $26, especially when they have so many regional wines that are very good. It would be nice to see this waived if a Monterey Co wine is brought in like they do in Napa.
Great variety of dishes, wines & desserts. Paella was excellent.
The seafood was good. The salad was very heavily dressed. One member of my party ordered a cheeseburger medium rare. It was well done.
I had requested one of their smaller dining areas (private rooms) for our large brunch party. It was wonderful because we had three diners who are hard of hearing, they had no problem interacting due to the total lack of background noise. The wait staff was amazing. Taking care of large parties, everyone making decisions about cocktails and food at different times, they were gracious and attentive. The owner even poked his head in a couple of times to see how things were going. Cannot recommend highly enough!!! Side note.....the food was all amazing.
Excellent as always!
Always get a great meal in a beautiful setting. So lucky to have such an outstanding “neighborhood “ restaurant.
The server went out of the way to meet my gluten free restrictions
Outstanding food, the chef was incredible. Enjoyed the conversion, great sense of humor, will come again, my wife enjoyed talking with the chef in Hebrew, awesome experience,
The scallions that I had was excellent! Cream of asparagus was good, I had better one! The paella was pretty good too!
I think this is an iconic restaurant in the area that is possibly past its prime. I cannot say it was a bad experience, but I would not return.
We dined here for our anniversary last weekend. The food and service was great. I love the old European atmosphere - it is cozy and charming. Since it was our anniversary, our kids had contacted the restaurant and arranged for the billing of our dinner which was really nice. The restaurant did a great job by decorating our table and having it all ready with their card when we arrived....
Fandango is a very good local restaurant. Food, service and location are all very desirable. When in Monterey we always stop by for dinner and are never disappointed.
Wonderful food, wonderful service, wonderful owners, and did I say wonderful? It is a gem. We LOVE it !
Excellent food and wonderful service. They really went the extra mile. We will definitely be back!
food was enormously ORDINARY - seats were UNCOMFORTABLE - service was good - menu selection was good - ambiance was fine - for the cost it was NOT NOT NOT WORTH IT
I have been dining at Fandango for 15 years, but the kitchen went wrong on this visit. The sea bass was way over cooked and the sanddabs tasteless. The accompanying vegetables were sautéed in oil and the pasta taken from the water and left to dry on the plate. The scallop appetizer and the fingerling potatoes were the only good parts of the meal. It was a bad night in the kitchen because Pierre and Jacques are capable of producing excellent food.
Have enjoyed Fandago for many years. They have large menu at reasonable prices. Great food and service.
Always a delicious meal together with outstanding service. One of our favorite restaurants.
It has been several years since we ate at Fandango. The food and presentation were amazing.
The chef and one of the owners came over and spoke to us. The food is only part of what makes this restaurant great.
One of the best restaurants I have ever been to! I have traveled all over the country and much of the world and there are few any better than Fandango. The food, choices, presentation and service are something that every restaurant should aspire to emulate. I had a caprese salad that was so good I could have stopped without anything else! The tomatoes are locally grown and harvested at the peak of ripeness - the flavor was exceptional! Definitely this restaurant is one you should seek out.
The food was superbly prepared. The service was excellent, especially considering that we dined on a busy Saturday night.
A word about the wine list. The vast majority of the wines on the extensive wine list are expensive. The good news – the wines we drank (half-bottle of white, full bottle of red, both French) from among the lower priced wines on the list were exceptional values for restaurants these days. Some of Fandango’s competition on the Monterey Peninsula price wine at three times retail, which we regard as an undue subsidy of non-wine drinkers. At Fandango the white wine was charged at about twice retail, the red somewhat below twice retail. And, by the way, both were excellent wines. We have not compared other wines on the list against retail.
This was our third or fourth visit to Fandango. We definitely plan to return.
Fantastic dinner. The experience was great from the second we sat down. Carlos was one of the best waiters I've had in a while. Very excited about the food options, knowledgeable, attentive and so proud of his kids! Scallops were amazing! Lamb was cooked to perfection. Salmon was well prepared and everything seasoned perfectly.
My colleagues had the LEGIT FRENCH ONION SOUP - best anywhere. I had the tomato soup and it was delicious - not too creamy. The rack of lamb was perfectly prepared too! This place is a MUST if you are in the area!
Great restaurant, great food as always.
Reliable and always a good choice in Pacific Grove . The ambiance , attentive staff and kind hosts are a real plus here .
The food is pretty satisfying .... large selection on menu which would appeal to the general public ... would not categorize their food as “gourmet quality” , but more satisfiable in portions and pleasing to the palate. I had the Paella and enjoyed the dish but it was a bit wet and should have been continued to be cooked to have the lower layer of paella rice a bit more crunchy as done in southern SpAin. However the paella had sufficient seafood, chicken and spicy sausage to make it a good choice . My husband had the veal piccata which he enjoyed !
All in all , Fandango is a stable pick anytime in Pacific Grove !
Our favorite go-to spot in Pacific Grove. We've been here a few times and everything has been top-notch!
Celebrating Valentine’s day and decided to try this restaurant. Great choice. Food and service was exceptional. I will be back. Great wine selection!
we always try to get to fandango's at least 2-4 times a year when we are in the area. this time we were joined by another couple to celebrate valentine's day. although they were SUPER BUSY, we had a wonderful meal,, we were not rushed, and a it was a fairly cozy dinner. can't wait for the next dinner.
We reserved a table for Valentines Day. We were crowded into a small space, had to raise our hand to get bread, they forgot to bring our salads, after a long wait, brought my salmon out raw, had to be returned to kitchen, then waiter brought us a dessert of his choice to make up for the bad service. Will really have to have no where else to go before we decide to go back!
Valentine’s Day early 5pm dinner and had reservations. Once seated, had to wait over an hour for our entrees while others seated after us ate and finished their dinners.
We had to get our own water refills from the bussing station as no one came to the table to offer us any. When our entrees finally came, the food though beautifully prepared, was cold but we were starving and didn’t want to send it back and wait even longer to eat. The bread rolls were served cold and did not seem fresh. A pitiful offering of one dessert they seemed to want to get rid of was offered in exchange for our inconvenience. We are locals and have eaten here many times over the years. This was the worst service we’ve ever experienced. We will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone and won’t be back.
Delicious onion soup and pate! Excellent service.
Every dish we had was just perfection! Best calamari steak and sand dabs on the west coast. The pastas were incredible! We loved the service as much as the food.
Melt in your mouth lamb chops. Excellent paella. Friendly and attentive service. Great experience.
Great food and service. Our guests said the lamb was the best they ever had! Only down side of the evening was having 5 of us seated at a table for 4. I was constantly bumped the entire dinner by folks walking past me to go to the restroom.
Fantastic as usual! One of only a few places now serving Grand Marnier Souffle every night. Osso buco is 'over the top'. Caesar salad is mild re anchovies but delicious. Drinks are generous! Owners present and always friendly and hospitable. Chef roams to greet guests. Just a fabulous atmosphere. (Been going there since 1983).
Fandango has long been a favorite. They serve old world French Provincial specialties, truly a classic doing the old school correctly! From the Caesar salad, to the rack of lamb, simply perfect.
Been a few years since last at Fandango. Will not wait that long before I return. Outstanding all around.
Fandangos is a must stop every year when we are in town for ATT. Learned a few years back to make reservations well in advance. Meal and service wonderful. See you next February.
We've celebrated many special occasions here. This year I wanted a quiet, intimate dinner with just three family members to celebrate a milestone birthday. Ha! The ambiance is so wonderful that a stranger invited me to dance as the whole room erupted into Happy Birthday. A warm welcome from Marietta and Pierre, excellent food and service, and outstanding clientele make this the perfect place.
