Overall, Fandango is a nice place. Our waiter was good and quite energetic. As for the food there could be some improvement. I ordered a Caesar salad and it was lackluster. The dressing was watered down like the lettuce wasn’t dry before adding the dressing. I did ask for anchovies and that helped a little because without them there would be no taste. The Veal Piccata portion was very small as was the side potato accompaniment.
My friends were okay with their meals, but again not great, just okay. The cannolis for dessert was very good. The next time I am in Pacific Grove I don’t think I would go back because there are so many other choices.

Great dinner! We had been wanting to try Fandango since we discovered it. Finally had the chance when we were in the area for a few days. A great dinner and service was excellent, we’ll definitely be back!

We are regular and local visitors to this lovely place. They have a beautiful place, some small intimate rooms, and larger rooms. We were seated upstairs this visit, with a ocean view out the window. Ordered calamari appetizer, yummy would have wanted the breading to stick to the fish better. Husband ordered cannelloni, he raved about it. Unfortunately I was not as wild about the scampi and the side veggies. The pasta was overcooked as were the green beans. The prawns were nice size just not a great deal of flavor, maybe just an off night in the kitchen. We have ordered the soufflé in the past, and highly recommend it. Service is always good, and we will return again soon.

The room was too cold to be an enjoyable environment. In addition to the cold, a chilling wind blew thru every time the door was opened. Service was slow.
Music was too loud and inappropriate for this charming environment. Several years ago when we had dinner here it was, in a word, perfect. Unfortunately, not this time

While the wine list was fantastic the food was not. After a very good martini and a delicious appetizer of sauteed calamari we were served a soggy salad made up of greens that obviously came out of a plastic box or bag. When ordering the waiter was so focused on the overpriced specials he neglected to mention the dishes that were not available. Rather than getting the lamb couscous I had to settle for the paella which should have been good but alas it was bland and mushy. My partner had the sand dabs which were poorly prepared with a sad excuse for a lemon butter sauce. Given the setting and the prices I was expecting much better. The $50 Ribera del Duero was fantastic, much better than I thought it would be for the price.

My husband and I were there to celebrate a milestone. We ordered the surf and turf. Fabulous! The filet mignon was VERY GOOD! And the lobster were the best I've EVER had! - it was grilled on the outside, but super tender sweet and savory to perfection! The plating was beautiful - from our horsdeveurs to the sides to the main dish. We always enjoy a glass of Riesling and the Kabinett they served was the best. All the best! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We chose an exceptional place when we chose Fandango!

Not a good value for the quality. Olive Gatden quality at Michelin starred prices. Wine by the bottle has an unbelievable 400% mark up. A big disappointment.

I have been going to Fandango's for about 16 years now. This time around it was a disappointment. First of all, they seem to not like single diners much. My friend who works for the California COVID Task Force could not make dinner. So it was just me a single dinner. Something at the restaurant has changed where they don't like single diners. I have always ordered the rack of lamb which has always been made to perfection. This time around, 2/3rds of it was totally uncooked. At $68 for the rack, it was over priced and not edible. But the Gran Mariner Soufflé was excellent. When I went in April of this year, the rack of lamb was $50 and now it is $68. That's quite a raise in pricing. I will go back again and see if things have gone back to normal, but this time around it was disappointing.

Wonderful, cozy, and beautiful ambience. We ordered the duck, ask for medium rare, came back medium well. Also ordered the oriental chicken salad. The salad was fine, but the chicken was overcooked, very dry and not very tasty. Waiter was a little bit pushy, and not very knowledgeable about the menu, and especially the wine list. One thing that bugs me is when a waiter tries to fake it in describing to you the wines. Restaurant should do a better job educating the waiters on the menu, but how to present the wine list. Good restaurants always send over a wine expert if the waiter isn’t knowledgeable about certain wines on the menu. They should do that to.

Fandango is always one of our "go to" restaurants whenever we are anywhere near Pacific Grove. We were disappointed that they didn't have Sweetbreads though!

I loved the homey atmosphere in this restaurant. The food was very good, lots of choices that appealed to me. The wait staff was superb!! And the soufflé for dessert was divine. Not too sweet and light a fluffy.

The service was excellent. The quality of our food was adequate. The filet mignon was tough and didn’t appear to be of restaurant quality especially for the price. Same can be said for the lamb shanks.

Superb experience on a Thursday night .. still during the COVID Delta resurgence. Masks required, a plastic shield between out table and the one behind us. The servers were attentive. The New York steak we had was cooked to perfection and of high quality. The green beans and potatoes were excellent. and we had a beautiful crime brûlée desert. All in all a wonderful dining experience

Dinner at Fandango is always a nice experience. The restaurant consistently offers a comfortable classic feel. The staff is very friendly and professional. There are many great choices on the menu. The wine list offers variety in selection and price. Our party of four enjoyed veal piccata (2), paella and lamb chops and a Morgan Pinot.

Fandango Is a lovely restaurant with great food. This was our first time to be back since the start of the pandemic. Our dinner was great, service excellent. In general dinners are a bit more expensive that the average.

Last night of vacation in Central California. One of few restaurants offering abalone on menu. Atmosphere and service great. Abalone was overly battered and probably cooked a tad too long. My husband enjoyed his filet. The star of the night was the bread from the Paris Bakery in Monterey. Would definitely return to Fandango!

Absolutely fantastic place to go to for dinner. I have been there a few times, and each time the food has been absolutely delicious and the ambiance cannot be beat. Our server was Angel, and he provided exceptional service. This restaurant is a must go to on the Monterey Peninsula especially for the amazing soufflé!
