We like this place a lot, but our last visit was a bit disappointing. We spent almost $300 for the two of us. We ordered the almost $50 special to go for our son at home. I ate the same special there. When I got home to prepare my son's plate, the two lobster tails were over cooked and half the size I received. The bread looked like it was leftover from someone's table (he did not eat it) and was in bits and pieces. I expect the same great standard for take out as I usually receive in the restaurant. And the scalloped potato side dish was literally two thin slices! I'm not sure we'll be going back.

I ordered the special which was the rack of lamb and it was spot on. Other people in my party ordered off the regular entrees on the menu and they said their dishes were okay. Service was great. Our server was very attentive. Prices were a little high, but overall had an enjoyable experience. Must try at least once if in the area.

Been here a few times & menu is always good. I had the halibut this time. VERY meaty, thick piece that was just slightly underdone in the center because of the thickness. I still ate it & it was delicious. I also had probably the most generous Manhattan I've ever had.

We have been patrons of this restaurant since it opened over 30 years ago. Whenever we want to impress out of town guests, we host them here. We travel extensively worldwide. Call me a homey but Fandango is on our list of top 10 restaurants.

Fandango's is a terrific restaurant. Local treasure. Their rack of lamb is exceptional. Service was personable, prompt and professional. Highly recommended. No question we'll be back again.

This place is tiny. No place to wait. Host and bar were rude and unfriendly. No cocktail menu. Food is average. Soufflé was awful, tastes like scrambled eggs. Really cheap silverware, surprising for a place that’s trying to be fine dining. Server got the job done but no personality. Odd to find no women working there.

I had had fond memories of Fandangos and hadn't been for too long. Was pleasantly reminded of how terrific the place is. Food, service, wine list, ambiance were all top notch. Will be back again very soon!

Fandango is our favorite spot on the Monterey Peninsula. We've being going there for over 30 years and it never disappoints. We would go again in a heartbeat and encourage others to do the same.

The atmosphere were business casual with white linen table clothes and pretty centerpieces on the tables. They have a nice wine list and is a great place to meet the ladies for lunch. I did have an issue with the waiter. I mentioned a gluten food allergy when I arrived and asked if there was a special menu. He replied that he would guide me on anything that may be an issue for me when I ordered. I ordered the special fish of the day. When it arrived at my table, it was breaded. I brought it to his attention and he then told me I should have told him I didn't want it breaded...??... They promptly made me the dish with fresh fish (without breading). Okay, besides this misunderstanding, I would recommend the restaurant.

Lamb was cooked perfectly but lacked any flavor. Salad looked old and wilted. Calamari steak was tasteful but overpriced for the quality. Service was good and great ambiance. Probably wouldn’t go again but not a bad option.

The calamari steak, the paella, and the sweetbreads were exellent. The salads and bread that came with the meals were also very good. The service was very good as well as the location that has ample free parking. We use to go often years ago when we lived closer, but we had not been there in a few years. it was amazing to find the restaurant was as good as ever or even better today!

Experiences Change depending what room your in. And ordering the right food. Stay with their basic best an specials. Liver an Onions not so good. Ordered med well, came cremated! The meat too thin, chef doesn’t seem to noticed. Coincidentally a gal in our room “card room” ordered same as me an hers was near raw!
Don’t sit in the Card Room. People still loud if only 4 tables.
Bad night I’m hoping. We’ll try again!

This is a long-term restaurant that serves perfectly adequate food, but is not a good value for its very high prices. Our salads were small and uninspired. The entrees (short ribs and steak frites) were fine, but not on the level of restaurants at similar price points. We always get wine by the glass and found the choices pedestrian at best.

The wine list at Fandango is very good. We ordered a half bottle of a very nice Napa cab from 2000.

My wife had the one pound lobster special, and I ordered the Dover Sole. Both were excellent. Because the Dover Sole was going to take 30 minutes to prepare, they provided us with our choice if a small dinner salad or a cup of soup. Both the small salad and clam chowder were very good. We were very full so decided not to order any dessert even though the dessert menu looked very inviting.

I made a reservation via Open Table and arrived 10 mins early. I was seated in a small room, with 4 tables, near the entry way (fire hazard) where the waiter and other guests had to squeeze by me to exit. It took the waiter more than 15 minutes to ask us if we would like a drink. I was not offered a wine list, he came in 5 times to help others but we were ignored. We were clearly discriminated against either based on color, nationality or because we were wearing jeans.

Food was cooked well. Had the filet mignon, perfectly done and piping hot. Duck a La orange wasn't very orangey and fat could have been rendered better. Olives at the table were great starter.

Service was very good but the food was very disappointing. It began with bread that was flat-out stale - hard and dry (and wasn't particularly good bread to begin with. A spinach salad was done well, but the entree of paella was not good at all. Both the shrimp and the sausage were tough and flavorless; the chicken and other seafood (scallops?) were not bad. The rice managed the trick of both being mushy in texture and tasting undercooked - not sure how they managed that. The sauce was thick and gloppy.

We were seated in the "small" room which had only 3-4 tables. The larger room had more "energy", and would probably request that next time. However, the quiet surroundings in the "small" room were welcome on that particular day. Service and food were excellent! My wife had lemon chicken which was delicious, I had rack of lamb which was the best I can ever remember.

Since our last visit a few years ago, the staffing has had considerable changes including the gentleman that greeted one upon arriving who was a real charmer and always made one feel more than welcome. Today it seems different including our party of four being seated in a very small uncomfortable corner with a minuscule table. The food was still acceptable, but not anything to rave about. Too bad it seems to have lost its charm.

I had a wonderful meal and experience, the service was great and the food
expensive worth the price. (FOR A CHANGE)
My wife had the special, Scallops with fresh pappardelle it the dish was a delight.
I went with the Filet Mignon lobster also memorable, while $50 and $40 might not
be in everyone's budget if you are going to splurge this is most definitely the place
to do it. (P.S there are cheaper options on the menue)
