Service and food (filet) were just great!
Overall, I would highly recommend Famous Steakhouse. The food was excellent - tender filets, the Famous salad, baby spinach & pear salad were very good. The Cesar salad my husband said was the best he’s had in a long time (adding anchovies he said was excellent). The sides were great - mashed potatoes, asparagus, mushrooms, all cooked perfectly. The rosemary sour dough bread was worth eating & we had to hold ourselves back from eating too much of it! I’m not sure the bone broth over the steak really adds anything & we asked for side plates so our sides wouldn’t sit in the juice.
Service was attentive & just right even if we were served slightly fast - party of 4 in and out in 75 minutes.
The atmosphere is OK, but I did like that all the tables are booths so you have privacy. It can get loud when piano player starts as the restaurant & bar are one open space & not that large.
Parking garage behind restaurant for $1.00 is convenient.
We would definitely go back again.
The Famous is just that, Famous and delicious. It is a pricey place and my bill was 215 for 2 filets 2 sides an app and 4 glasses of wine. The only problem I have is that the famous should impose a “no children under 10” after a certain time. For these prices I should be able to sit and enjoy a meal without some screaming 5 year old in the booth near us (yes it happened). My date and I while trying to enjoy out time together were kind of ticked off. Also a dress code of at least a button down shirt would be nice as I saw gentleman in trashed jeans and ratty T-shirt’s. It’s great they can eat there but if you can eat a 50-100 dollar steak at least dress the part. Other then that the service was great and the food was perfect as usual.
The filet, mushrooms and scampi are fantastic!
As usual, great food, atmosphere and service. Known for the steaks (rightfully so) but the Friday salmon special is always spectacular. Can’t miss at the Famous.
The Hostess was slow and we stood for several minutes while she was on the phone with no acknowledgement. However the wait staff especially Kat, were pleasant and efficient. The drinks, dinner and dessert were EXCELLENT.
By far the best meal I’ve had in Colorado Springs so far. It was pretty quiet—it was Easter dinner—but really good! We went to Prime25 roughly a month ago and the check at the end of the night was similar in price. Would 100% go here over the other restaurant based on the quality and taste of the food.
Awesome as usual
This place was amazing. High quality steak. I had the one with blue cheese. Although, if I return to Colorado Springs and return to the restaurant, I would try their Cowboy Steak. The blue cheese was a little overpowering. My daughter had the halibut. It was delicious. The creamed spinach was great. And service could not have been better. Our waiter rocked it. I think his name was EJ. The crème brulee was magnificent. Made for a very enjoyable evening!
Great food and service as usual. Piano was just a little loud for conversation. Still one of the top three or four places in the Springs for a Special Occasion.
Excellent service. Excellent wine. And amazing filet mignon. What more can you ask for?
Noise level higher than expected prior to piano playing
Loved the piano player !
Amazing food, great service and attention to detail. always love this place
It was my husbands birthday and I was recommended this place by a previous owner, Chris Martel. Even though we were a few minutes late, reception was welcoming and kind. I had made reservation 48 hours prior and when we arrived the table was already set for us. My husband ordered the 14 oz fillet mignon rare with the surf and turf addition and loved it! I ordered the braised pork shank and it was probably the most tender piece of meat I have EVER eaten. The wine was exquisite and the ol’ berries and bourbon cocktail was incredible. To put the icing on the cake (quite literally) they brought out a miniature homemade chocolate cake for dessert, compliments of the restaurant.
It is quite pricey and we more than likely won’t be here regularly, but I HIGHLY recommend for special occasions.
GREAT MEAL! In From Florida, I took my college student daughter here to celebrate getting together and not having been here before I made a reservation for 2 on short notice. From the hostess fitting us in with a great table, a Great Gin & Tonic, Great Filet/Salad/Baked Potato and all served by a Great Server like Bree, we couldn’t have been happier with the experience. The noise level (Piano) was a little loud but bearable. Will definitely be back! Thanks!
A little bit on the pricey side, but one of the best steaks I have had. Great for a special occasions. I liked the touch of the live piano player. Does make conversation a bit more difficult. Was not an issue for us, but may be for others.
The food and service were really tasty but the noise level with a full restaurant plus the piano man was a bit much for me.
Nothing less than the finest steakhouse in Colorado . . . amazing ambience, service, and meal!
Great food with excellent service
Best restaurant in town and would hold up in bigger markets
This is dependably good. The food is terrific...great steakhouse atmosphere. But what makes Famous stand out us it’s service. Huge props to Kat and Ty!
The food and service was absolutely delicious and amazing. I husband and I went there as a quick date that I planned last minute. Getting a reservation was easy, and we were sent immediately when we got there. My husband some feeling a little unappreciated at work and I wanted him to feel appreciated at home. This place did the trick , He was ecstatic as he loves steak houses and said that the steak was one of the best ones he’s ever had in his entire life
Strip steak with Bleu Cheese has always been superb. Wonderfully attentive service but not overbearing. Very nice wine list too.
The Famous never disappoints. The steaks are superb, as are the accompaniments. The best classic gin martini in the west . . . and delightful specialty drinks. Outstanding service, as well.
Love the famous. Was so sad to take 5 guests & have 1) a horrid table Vs booth despite booking weeks in advance 2) both a 10 & 14 oz filet so undercooked that more than 1/2 the meat was uneatable. We sent one back (I walked it to kitchen as our server was MIA for 15 minutes) & still totally raw. Very unlike prior experiences. When 2 plates go back w 1/2 the $40-$46 meat on them, doesn’t the manager see it?
Probably our favorite place in COS, and there are lots of places to choose from. The Famous never disappoints, great steaks, seafood, drinks, desserts.
Filet mignon was absolutely to die for! Portions were enormous! Since this is an ‘a la carte’ menu, I was glad that we only chose one side and a salad as accompaniments. Steak was super tender and full of flavor. There was live piano music that made for an enjoyable experience for our date night. Highly recommended and would definitely eat here again
I took my girl out for date night, the food was amazing, and the service was outstanding!!! I can’t wait for our next date night.
Went for Valentine’s Day! The service was awesome- there was a fixed menu but we are not picky eaters so it was great!! Would highly recommend
Great food as always! One of my wife and my favorite places for date night.
Excellent food, service and wine. Live piano music but it was too loud for background music!
We were at Del Frisco's for my mothers belated birthday dinner, there was 15 people in our party. The service was great as usual and exceptional for such a large group, that has to be a bit of a challenge . We would like to say thank you....and we'll be back for more delicious food and drinks!
The valentine meal prep wasn’t up to their established standard - lacked to the typical flavor, from the cocktail sauce, steak to the cheesecake and chocolate torte.
The Famous is a very reliable, consistent restaurant with great food and drinks.
Amazing anniversary dinner! Some of the best service!
My wife and I always enjoy the Famous. It is our favorite steak house. It has fantastic food, a great environment. I highly recommend this steak house to anyone who visits colorado springs.
Good food, a bit noisy. Service was, ok. Seemed to get bothered if we asked questions.
Great everything! Made my date night with my husband everything we could have hoped for!
Famous did not disappoint - we had 5 USAFA cadets who were very tired of chicken and they thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
