Excellent service. Excellent wine. And amazing filet mignon. What more can you ask for?
Noise level higher than expected prior to piano playing
Loved the piano player !
Amazing food, great service and attention to detail. always love this place
It was my husbands birthday and I was recommended this place by a previous owner, Chris Martel. Even though we were a few minutes late, reception was welcoming and kind. I had made reservation 48 hours prior and when we arrived the table was already set for us. My husband ordered the 14 oz fillet mignon rare with the surf and turf addition and loved it! I ordered the braised pork shank and it was probably the most tender piece of meat I have EVER eaten. The wine was exquisite and the ol’ berries and bourbon cocktail was incredible. To put the icing on the cake (quite literally) they brought out a miniature homemade chocolate cake for dessert, compliments of the restaurant.
It is quite pricey and we more than likely won’t be here regularly, but I HIGHLY recommend for special occasions.
GREAT MEAL! In From Florida, I took my college student daughter here to celebrate getting together and not having been here before I made a reservation for 2 on short notice. From the hostess fitting us in with a great table, a Great Gin & Tonic, Great Filet/Salad/Baked Potato and all served by a Great Server like Bree, we couldn’t have been happier with the experience. The noise level (Piano) was a little loud but bearable. Will definitely be back! Thanks!
A little bit on the pricey side, but one of the best steaks I have had. Great for a special occasions. I liked the touch of the live piano player. Does make conversation a bit more difficult. Was not an issue for us, but may be for others.
The food and service were really tasty but the noise level with a full restaurant plus the piano man was a bit much for me.
Nothing less than the finest steakhouse in Colorado . . . amazing ambience, service, and meal!
Great food with excellent service
Best restaurant in town and would hold up in bigger markets
This is dependably good. The food is terrific...great steakhouse atmosphere. But what makes Famous stand out us it’s service. Huge props to Kat and Ty!
The food and service was absolutely delicious and amazing. I husband and I went there as a quick date that I planned last minute. Getting a reservation was easy, and we were sent immediately when we got there. My husband some feeling a little unappreciated at work and I wanted him to feel appreciated at home. This place did the trick , He was ecstatic as he loves steak houses and said that the steak was one of the best ones he’s ever had in his entire life
Strip steak with Bleu Cheese has always been superb. Wonderfully attentive service but not overbearing. Very nice wine list too.
The Famous never disappoints. The steaks are superb, as are the accompaniments. The best classic gin martini in the west . . . and delightful specialty drinks. Outstanding service, as well.
Love the famous. Was so sad to take 5 guests & have 1) a horrid table Vs booth despite booking weeks in advance 2) both a 10 & 14 oz filet so undercooked that more than 1/2 the meat was uneatable. We sent one back (I walked it to kitchen as our server was MIA for 15 minutes) & still totally raw. Very unlike prior experiences. When 2 plates go back w 1/2 the $40-$46 meat on them, doesn’t the manager see it?
Probably our favorite place in COS, and there are lots of places to choose from. The Famous never disappoints, great steaks, seafood, drinks, desserts.
Filet mignon was absolutely to die for! Portions were enormous! Since this is an ‘a la carte’ menu, I was glad that we only chose one side and a salad as accompaniments. Steak was super tender and full of flavor. There was live piano music that made for an enjoyable experience for our date night. Highly recommended and would definitely eat here again
I took my girl out for date night, the food was amazing, and the service was outstanding!!! I can’t wait for our next date night.
Went for Valentine’s Day! The service was awesome- there was a fixed menu but we are not picky eaters so it was great!! Would highly recommend
Great food as always! One of my wife and my favorite places for date night.
Excellent food, service and wine. Live piano music but it was too loud for background music!
We were at Del Frisco's for my mothers belated birthday dinner, there was 15 people in our party. The service was great as usual and exceptional for such a large group, that has to be a bit of a challenge . We would like to say thank you....and we'll be back for more delicious food and drinks!
The valentine meal prep wasn’t up to their established standard - lacked to the typical flavor, from the cocktail sauce, steak to the cheesecake and chocolate torte.
The Famous is a very reliable, consistent restaurant with great food and drinks.
Amazing anniversary dinner! Some of the best service!
My wife and I always enjoy the Famous. It is our favorite steak house. It has fantastic food, a great environment. I highly recommend this steak house to anyone who visits colorado springs.
Good food, a bit noisy. Service was, ok. Seemed to get bothered if we asked questions.
Great everything! Made my date night with my husband everything we could have hoped for!
Famous did not disappoint - we had 5 USAFA cadets who were very tired of chicken and they thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
The Famous is my favorite restaurant in Colorado Springs. Great Food!
Our waitress (Kat) was awesome.
Fantastic date night.
The Famous is always our pre-concert dinner spot. The food is excellent and if you have special requests they are gladly fulfilled. Our server (Cathy Heiney, whom we always request) is a gem.
Food was good, service was good, overall a good experience.
Excellent food and great, attentive service. Would definitely go back!
Had a business team dinner. The food was really outstanding. The appetizers, steaks, and desserts were all very well done. I'd recommend the NY strip in particular and the flourless chocolate cake.
I have never been disappointed when we go to the Famous. Great service, amazing food, and amazing bartenders.
Great meal. Awesome server!
Didn’t rush use even though it was a busy Saturday evening
We'd heard about The Famous for years and thought we'd try it out as a thank you to customers. We felt it to be an average dining experience. The food was good, however we felt it didn't rise to the level of the The Famous' reputation. We enjoyed the crafted cocktails and the wait staff was attentive. One of the biggest drawbacks was the noise level, due to the openness of the restaurant, which made conversation difficult. We understand this isn't something that can be controlled. One suggestion we'd like to offer is for the wait staff to explain the portion size of some of the sides; we ordered the onion rings, fries and baked potato, not realizing that one side would have been ample for our party of four.
Great food, good service. Atmosphere is loud, a bit hard to talk/hear.
The food is worth 3 stars, but I had to deduct a star for ambiance— or should I say lack of ambience.
We chose this restaurant for my birthday dinner. Wednesday night, there was one other couple in the restaurant. They clearly have one waiter working because we were sat right next to the one other table and then when another couple came in, they were sat in the same section. The hostess pulled up our reservation and wished me a happy birthday. Nothing else was ever said or done to wish me a happy birthday.
This place is stuffy. It just has an old feel to it. It lacks modernity and sophistication. The waiter was nice, but way too casual for what is supposed to be a fine dining experience.
The food was okay. I’ve had steaks just as good or better at restaurants that charge half the price. Our baked potatoes were hard and cold. We sent them back. The fresh potatoes were hotter, but still rather hard. The green beans were good and seasoned well. The thin onion rings had no seasoning. The Caesar salads were just okay— nothing special. What seemed very odd to us was the bread they offered at the beginning of our meal. It was stone cold. Why would a restaurant that is supposed to be fine dining serve cold bread with cold butter? So odd.
Since it was my birthday dinner, we did go ahead and get a cheesecake for dessert. It was pretty good, not epic, but okay, at least until my husband bit in and had to pull paper out of his mouth.
This place is too expensive to give it another try.
The restaurant was a bit overpriced, expect to pay about 75.00 with a beverage. food and service was great. I'd go again when I win the lottery.
