Food was exceptional. Can’t wait to go back an try more options. Also the cocktails were unique and delicious. Service wasn’t exceptional but it was busy. Not a deal breaker.
Fantastic lunch while in the area. Staff was very welcoming and accommodated my husband’s customization with pleasure. True neighborhood gem!
Was good..server wrote down one item wrong for a salad.. didn't make abig deal, but will check next time
The food was good. It was a little annoying that the two people ahead of us, without a reservation, got a good table while we were seated by the entrance - with a reservation.
Service was friendly and mostly efficient. I’d go back.
Food was way overpriced for the quality. Really disappointed in everything.
food overall was good, waffle was lackluster but chicken on top was very good. Fried chicken was good. Duck fat frites were good. Onion rings weren’t all that great.
Prices are fair. Service was excellent. Not the most scenic of views but really not a big deal.
The food was delicious but service was spotty. We ordered the onion ring appetizer and should have know something was strange when the server asked if we wanted them served first. The onion rings and dipping sauce were crisp and tasty. After what seemed like a longer than expected wait our soup and beet salad was served along with our entrees of fried chicken and the cod dish. The server seemed surprised that we expected our soup/salad to be served before our entrees. Although it has been awhile since dining at Family Meal, we were equally surprised that our food was not served as courses. We sent back the entrees and enjoyed the chicken soup and beet salad and when finished the server returned with our entrees, both dishes arrived warm and the food was delicious. My husband, a lover of fried chicken, really enjoyed his chicken, including the spicy dipping side dish and the biscuits were rich and savory. My cod was perfectly seared and cooked. The portions were generous and we left happily satisfied.
Again you did not disappoint. Came in for Easter brunch with the family and everything was awesome as always. Thanks for another great time.
Great time, as usual! We enjoyed a nice Easter brunch :)
We love Family Meal! It is our go to breakfast spot. The food is always fantastic, the servers are always very friendly, and the overall atmosphere is great!
We have been coming here since they opened and have never had a less than excellent meal.
Service is great and staff is very knowledgeable . It's worth the 30 mile drive for breakfast , lunch or dinner.
Everything was Excellent! Please Go! Food was out of this World. The burger I got was outstanding.
Wife is Vegan and she enjoyed her meal as well.
Food was good, service was professional overall well worth the price. The onion rings are incredible by the way. I talked my fellow diner into trying one and he promptly ordered some for himself.
First time at Family Meal - tasty food, good service, fun, great value. Perfect for kids but you can still get an adult meal
Food was pretty good but the service was awful. Waited too long between courses, had to flag down and beg the wAiter for the dessert menu and then it took him so long to come back and take the order, we didn't bother. And the restaurant wasn't crowded.
Good food, a little pricey, wish they'd prioritize keeping up to date menu on line.
Food is always great. Inventive dishes. Great service.
lunch is much better than brunch.. we will definitely come back and try the dinner options.
Our server was incredible, the food was amazing. VERY kid friendly, while maintaining an adult level. Highly recommend.
Split the steak and scallop entrees after also splitting the arugula salad. All were very good, as was the local draught beer.
Food: very, very good. Two members of our party had the scallops which were excellent. This writer had the fried chicken with pickles/hot sauce. Awesomely tasty, crunchy, flavorful and delicious. The only downside: thumping bass and conversation drowning music. This sucks big time. Why torture the customer with this idiotic music track. It's dinner, not disco!
Been there several times for lunch and dinner but this was first time for breakfast. Excellent meals all around, really good potatoes.
I breakfast/brunch with my friends every Saturday at Family Meal. Why? It's a fun place. The food is good and the service is great. The staff has come to know us, and we are welcome us by name when we arrive. There is always a crowd - so, make reservations!
Because this is in a former car dealership there are huge windows. On a breezy day it was quite chilly (dinners kept their coats on) and sitting by the window my food was quite cold before I finished eating it. Too bad because it was tasty
We had breakfast here with friends we had not seen for years. Our server was very attentive, getting us coffee as we needed it. We stayed 2.5 hours, and were treated with care the whole time. No rushing us off or leaving us without coffee. Obviously, our server deserved an extra tip. So nice to be able to linger and talk over our breakfast... and after!
Place was awesome. Good food and reasonable prices.
Never disappointed when dining here! The service is beyond exceptional (seriously, you guys hire very well. Polite and attentive without annoying) and food is well worth every penny. I recommend trying the food as is instead of trying to make substitutions - the flavor combinations are incredible. Reservations are a must as many people feel the same way as me and LOVE this place. The old bay bloody Mary’s are a must with brunch!!!
I have been there several times and a week ago I made a reservation for my 16 year old daughter and I for 6:15 on a Friday and the place was hopping, we got seated on time, the staff was organized, energetic - they are used to being busy and work well under pressure - actually it's more fun to sit at the bar and watch them work. The food was amazing, as always, duck fat french fries and fried chicken... wonderful. I like coming here when I'm in Frederick. The place is busy on weekend nights, its loud and crowed with many parties going on and reservations are needed (even if dining early). For a quiet lunch, try Mondays around 1. I used to work in restaurants back in the day, so its fun to watch one who can make it look seamless under pressure and it's one of the only restaurants that make me consistently pleased - that's no small feat.
Great food & service. Went a little skimpy on the fries this time and my chicken sandwich was a little greasy but excellent. Pot pie fritters were yummy. Great beer selection
Always a good place to meet friends, Family Meal offers a variety of tasty and unique food preparations in a utilitarian setting. This is one of the few excellent breakfast restaurants in Frederick. Not only does it open for breakfast at 7AM, but also you can get breakfast until 11AM.
While we love this place for dinner, breakfast was disappointing. The food was average and a little pricey. The service was really slow for a breakfast meal when the restaurant was empty.
Great breakfast, donuts are great. Get the goat cheese omelette.
Delicious food in a modern, industrial atmosphere. It's very loud, but the service is great.
Great servers and the food was top notch
Went during restaurant week and haven't been in a while. My steak came out rare - I tried it just to make sure (ordered Medium) and then was brought out again (more like medium rare). Although it wasn't done how I wanted either time, the second time, it was awesome. The service was slow, but it was restaurant week & busy, so can't really ding them for that. The chicken and waffle my significant other got was okay, but wasn't really impressed. Overall, for $70, I definitely expected more.
As always. Fantastic food, unusual but incredibly tasteful deserts. I love their old fashion cocktails. We'll be back
Yummy! Great date night with hubby! Very good food. Loved the steak frites and mug cake
Try the Nashville Chicken...so, so good, a wonderful balance of flavor with a little heat.
This has been a fantastic experience. My parents and I have started coming here after Church on Sunday for brunch. The staff are very nice, food is good, and the prices are very reasonable.
Our waitress seemed preoccupied with other guests. I asked to switch from ice tea to soda because of the ice tea taste. She didn't tell me I would be charged for both.
