Love this place. Delicious "bistro" style food in a comfortable, neighbourhood setting with attentive, helpful and lovely staff. Love the pizza and the lemon tart is to die for.
Food was not up to par. Pizza was very dry.....was like cardboard. Not the F’Amelia I remember. Was disappointed.
Usually one of my favourites but my recent visit wasn’t as great. Service was slow and the food was not tasty.
Great experience, food , staff and ambience.
I’ve been here for New Years before and enjoyed myself. This year the value and confusion over their own menu was horrific. I will not be returning.
A very nice neighborhood Italian restaurant. The menu is short, no meat only entrées, but a nice pizza and pasta menu. We were 6 and got a nice round table. Maybe because it was a busy time of year (December 23rd), the charcuterie and cheese platter was short in cheese and a bit pricey ($28) for what it was. We share 3 appetizers (meatball, arugula salad and the platter) and all were delicious. There was then 2 pizzas, one risotto, two pappardelle with rabbits and one other pasta, all very tasty. With beer, wine, one desert and some liqueurs and tip, the bill came to $95/person. Reasonable for this quality in Toronto.
The menu is good if limited. The service is wonderful. It can seem a bit packed on a busy night because it is not a large space. Overall it is a grand treat particularly in Cabbagetown. Make it a regular and you won’t be disappointed. Prices are fair though wine is a little on the high side.
Third year in a row we went with children and grandchildren fir our anniversary ( we do frequent F’Amelia during the year as well) - great family environment with good solid food choices coupled with friendly, attentive service .
What a perfect spot for a cold winter night. We were seated right next to the pizza over so, it was cozy warm and the smell was delicious. After hearing the night's pasta special, 3 of the 4 of us followed our server's suggestion to order it. Unfortunately, we must have broken the bank because our server soon came back to say they were running low on shrimp - a key main ingredient - and would anyone mind if some clams were mixed into the dish. These things happen and at least they provided us with a suggested solution rather than forcing us back to the menu to select another item. So, with the potentially bad situation avoided, we continued our tasty "custom" meals.
Dinner is always great at Famelia...and our waitress Nicki, was so personable and knowledgeable!
Mussel appetizer was delicious and the mussels were plump and healthy. Offered bread was yummy.
Good environment to talk business. Service was very good.
Lovely dining experience in a cozy setting in Cabbagetown!
Nice space. Everyone was very friendly with attentive service, only minor errors in the appetizer order. The ambiance was the real treat. The food was good, but not outstanding. The risotto portion could easily have been twice the size, given it is risotto. The lasagna was a decent size and could have had some vegetables in the sauce. Parking is not easy.
We really enjoyed our special night at F'Amelia. And we'll be coming back soon!
Always a wonderful Atmosphere and an amazing host had staff!
F'Amelia is consistently a great experience. Having been here more than a couple dozen times, I can confidently say - you will not have a bad experience. Their best pasta dish from the regular menu is the rabbit pappardelle. In fact, it's one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. So much so, it's very hard for me not to order it every time I go. If you want something different, just ask for the Chef's choice pizza. If you're lucky, you'll get something with roast chicken, roasted garlic, bitter greens, slow cooked tomatoes drizzled with honey. Unreal.
Was there for first time with another couple. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience.
Service and food were excellent...not too noisy - could actually carry on a conversation.
Will definitely return and recommend
It was a birthday dinner. I pre-ordered a chocolate cake for the table but was told that wasn’t available when we sat down. I was surprised because that wasn’t what I was told when I made the reservation.
The staff were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. They took the time to explain all details and provided there personal opinion on the food. The food itself was fantastic, portions were generous but not over the top. Can't wait to go back and have more of the fresh made pasta.
We took a friend for his birthday - the third or fourth time we gave dined at F’Amelia
Comfortable local spot that is also worth the drive . Attentive friendly service - good reasonably priced wine selection - delicious homemade soups and pastas or pizzas - portions are good and well priced
I keep going back. It's a wonderful gem in our neighborhood. My guests always enjoy it and ask to come back again. Love the food especially, but the whole experience is great!
Please don't start going to this restaurant. It is just too wonderful, charming, and cozy a place and I'd like to keep it to myself. Thank you. ;-)
Had a great dinner. Food was amazing and fresh. Everyone enjoyed it.
I love this place...! Can't get enough of it...lol. Staff and service is AMAZING and food is just DELICIOUS! Nothing more to add on .... Rex
Amazing pizza! Beautiful restaurant
We had great service from the moment we arrived. The atmosphere was convivial and as always the food was delicious. The server took the time to ensure that the chef knew about one of my friend's multiple food allergies.
This is our second visit and it was just as good as the first. The food is really tasty and we will definitely go back again.
The pasta was prepared in-house and all of the food tasted authentic and delicious!! Some of the best pasta I’ve tasted outside of Italy. Our server was knowledgeable and wonderful! The ambiance was beautiful- this place feels like a rustic cottage. It’s definitely a hidden gem in Toronto. Dimly lit, soft music, and very romantic. This restaurant has a special charm.
Very helpful servers ,nice ambience ,very good food.
Although the pasta dish and the wine was very good the pizza is definitely inferior. Hard to pin down exactly why.
The overall taste is just not delicious. The dishes were shared.
Might be inclined to recommend. This was my third visit to the Resturant. We asked the sever if he could close the patio door and he eventually did 45 mins later. He got one of the dinner order wrong. The group beside us was incredibly noisy and drinking shooters on a Tues night with no regard for the other patrons. Thought the staff could have asked the group to tone down just a little
The restaurant is a quaint spot and is a hidden gem. The wine list is extensive and offers 1/2 price off on a bottle over $100 which is nice. The food was okay, was a bit disappointed with the scallops as it was like they took one and cut into three, so it was hard to to tell if they were good as they were very thin but the sauce with them was great! The menu isn't that extensive and the serve lots of pizzas, the pastas and risotto dishes are on a smaller scale but enjoyable. The owner (Tanya) is hospitably and very welcoming and made sure she get around to every table to say hello or take a selfie with guests. The bartender and wait staff are wonderful and were very helpful when we asked questions about the wine or food. We will go back but would love to have three full scallops to enjoy! Very Enjoyable!
Everything fits together well. The food was excellent - an interesting choice in a relatively short menu - accompanied by a good wine list. Service was good - prompt without rushing us and efficient without being intrusive. We strongly recommend this restaurant.
Love F’Amelia - it is one of my favourite restaurants in Toronto! Great Italian food made from scratch and great ambiance and service. Highly recommend!
It was a good time, good service, good food. Will be back
Good experience- got a nice round table for 5. I wasn’t feeling 100% myself so I’m not sure if that was the problem or if the food wasn’t super flavourful. I think it was my cold because everyone else was very happy! Just the octopus appetizer I don’t think had too much flavour but pizzas and pastas were well received
Really enjoyed the vibe and design of the restaurant. As a local spot, the hit the balance of being very nice, accessible, and calm.
Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, as usual, on your lovely patio. The young woman, who was our server, was terrific and certainly added to the pleasure of evening. We all enjoyed our dinners immensely and look forward to returning again very soon.
We arrived and were greeting warmly and shown to outperform table. The service was was pleasant but not attentive. I order the scallops as a started. There was one scallop cut into 3 pieces a bit pricy for $21.00. My main dish was the rabbit past which was good. The noice lever was loud and we could not hear our dinner companions. Desert took a very long time to come after ordering. I would not recommend this restaurant considering the prices and service.
