   Whilst the venue was very nice and the warm welcome at reception was good that is all I can say about the whole experience, nice and good. The food in general was good but needed a lot of seasoning. One course burnt your mouth whilst the watermelon sorbet had melted so much it was a drink. Service wasn't as professional as the venue suggests it should be. We were half way through our taster menu and the waitress asked us what menu we would like! They added on a very large service charge to the bill which left a slightly bitter after taste too. Overall wouldn't recommend as we thought it was over priced when you're comparing it to a Michelin stared restaurant price.

   The taster menu was outstanding, perfectly presented, the service was extremely good and the ambiance lovely.

   Food reasonably good. General ambience poor and practically noboby having lunch there on a wednesday which may be significant. Prices both for wine and food are high. Car Park very scruffy. Staff do not make you relaxed

   Very impressed as hadn't been here for a very long time and the food has gone very upmarket since. Both our meals were faultless and wonderful. The little 'in between' courses are a lovely addition and attention to the fact I had mentioned I don't eat meat was much appreciated. Service was just right for long leisurely lunch and we were left to make our way out after our meal without hurry so we could enjoy the view from the gardens and very tasteful lounge. It's definitely not cheap but it is most certainly worth every penny!

   Wonderful meal. Stunning food, really good service, beautiful crockery, rather expensive so not an every day food experience. The decor could be updated (particually the lounge furniture), but a beautiful location. The tables in the dining room are really well spaced for individual, private dining in a large room.

   Myself & my wife had lunch for an anniversary celebration on saturday the 21st of june. This is a beautiful location for a romantic meal & can honestly say that our meal was exceptional plus the amuse bouch served between each course was a real surprise & presented so professionally. My only criticism would be that there is only one choice of champagne at £63 a bottle, surely a cheaper alternative like Lanson or Moet should be available!

   Very enjoyable evening at this top class restaurant - excellent welcome, service and superb food - my lamb main course was sublime. Great wine parings too. Will be going back!

   A celebration lunch for parents' burthdays abd wedding anniversary, Fallowfields did a fine job. The location is delightful, at the far end of Southmoor village with a pleasant garden at the back & a light and airy dining room, and for me it was very easy to reach by bus from Oxford, even on a Sunday. The lunch menu was well chosen, and amuses bouches were served. The pork terrine was well constructed, with lively piccalilli, and the scrambled egg with toasted brioche was very well balanced. The beef for main course was nicely cooked, and the pork got top marks too. Desserts were good and the wine list well chosen, with drinks good value (I had G&T and an armagnac). Overall, very enjoyable, and the bank was not broken either! I'll be back.

    Our family party was celebrating a 103rd birthday. There was a timeless quality to the occasion: old and less old felt thoroughly pampered (especially with the amazing meal) and very much at home. Thank you, everyone at Fallowfields, for making us so welcome. We loved the house and the garden, and the friendly politeness of the staff. Perhaps the repeated urge to 'enjoy' might be given some context! (Suggestion: 'I hope you enjoy this course.') We most certainly did enjoy our party at Fallowfields.
