Anniversaire! Superbe ambiance merci Soraya comme dans le sud de la France:)
Excellent restaurant and great food. I highly recommend it for that special occasion or just dinner.
Went here last night for my birthday. The food was phenomenal but the service, not so much. Waited a good 20 minutes before we were greeted and brought water, which was never refilled (and it was a sauna in there!). Once we were finished, it was another maddening struggle to get the check. My friend - who lived in France for a while - told us that this slow, inattentive service is very much the French way, so I guess we got the authentic experience. Not sure if all the waiters at Fada are French but ours was.
But like I said, the food was amazing and I will be back for it. Would especially recommend the steak au poive and calamari. We never got the snails we ordered but I'm sure they're good to.
The food was very good and very reasonably priced. The back garden was very pleasant. There was a pretty wild and loud party going on in the private party area in the back but ... it was still pretty nice. Will go back.
Lovely neighbourhood bistro with delightful tapas freshly cooked. Wine list is a bargain and the live jazz band bring the charm to a very beautiful interior.
Fada is a highly underrated restaurant in the neighborhood. Its super cute, the food is always on point, service is friendly, and the price point is GREAT! Like a steak au poivre is only $15. I don't know why this place isn't super busy.
The jazz trio was great and the steak au poivre and the burrata salad were excellent. The mussels, less so. The waitress was fast and attentive and really cared that we have a great meal.
Good food and live music. Would definitely recommend.
Nice casual restaurant with very tasty dishes and a chill vibe.
Reasonably priced and exceeded our expectation .
I love Fada.
My favourite spot in Williamsburg.
Delicious food, super cool (but non-pretentious) vibe, live music Thurs, Fri and Sat.
Long live Fada!
Great outdoor space! Perfect for summer nights out with friends!
One of my favorites in Williamsburg! Great food and live music!
We went to hear gypsy jazz. Not sure if the guitarists were playing much gypsy music, but we couldn't stay too long. It's a cool French-run place with a garden in the back. I'd definitely go back again!
Honestly, the food was pretty good, but the service was slow and disorganized. We constantly had to flag down a waiter or waitress to order both foods and drinks, and I had to ask for water at least 3 times throughout the night before it was brought to me, once in the beginning of the meal and a few times during the meal. The food was good, but I wouldn't rush back because of the service, or lack thereof.
Great mussels and fries (unlimited on Wednesday) and great music!
We had a lovely dinner--the roasted chicken was delicious.
This place was pretty weird. The main dining room was completely empty. Servers had no idea what was in any of the dishes. They were setting up for "Love music" in the corner around the time I left.
Food was passable. The steak tartare was dry and vaguely flavorless. The mussels were bountiful. If you do find yourself at this place, order the mussels. They can feed you and half of Brooklyn. The curry they are served in is decent. Nothing cost too much, but you get what you pay for I guess.
Very cute and authentic French bistro. Ate in the quiet and quaint garden. Steak and Niçoise salad were both excellent! Nice wine selection and nice server! Merci!
Very nice, quiet and authentic french place! Awesome mussels selection with all-you-can eat offer once a week. Make sure to check out the spacious but picturesque patio. Service is very friendly and efficient. Definitely one of my favorite places.
We had a lovely meal at Fada. We sta2rted with escargot which were less buttery than typical but still excellent. Lots of bread crumbs soaked up the butter which gave the snails a nice garlic crunch. I had traditional mussels and my daughter had cassoulet. Both were excellent. Service was attentive and our waitress had a lovely French accent, adding to the charm. We sat in an enclosed courtyard with an outdoor feel, but totally protected from the elements.
Trout was delicious as was the duck. Everything was too expensive
Nice service, great wine list but I was disappointed with the food, the only I reccomend was the mussles. It was too noisy and too dark.
Tried this place on a whim and was so happy we did! The food was great!
We started with the calamari with pastis and it was delicious - if you like the taste of anise, this is a must try! I had the traditional mussels and they were some of the best I've ever had. My boyfriend had the chicken and it was pretty good too. The only thing we were disappointed in was the creme brûlée - it had a ricotta consistency with powdered sugar on top, so it was NOT what we were expecting.
I will definitely go back, especially when I want some more mussels!
great music on friday night but food and service pretty rubbish and wine was horrible. go for the music but not anything else.
This was my second time to Fada Bistro and both times the food was excellent. We order the Beef Tartare for the table and I ordered the Atlantic Salmon, would order both again without question. The waitress suggested a great bottle of wine, who was very friendly. Unfortunately she disappeared for 45 minutes after our entrees and had to request the check at the register after being frustrated of being left alone for so long. Our entrees were never even cleared by the bus staff by the time we left. We had some more minor service issues the first time at Fada as well. I really wish they had their service under better control because it has great potential. Will check back in a while to see if it improves.
We were given a table in the back, on a cold patio although there were countless empty tables up front. They said there wasn't anywhere else they could put us, so I assumed the others were reserved, but when I left they were still endless empty tables. The wait staff acted like the patio wasn't part of the restaurant, but a garage where they convened and loudly conversed as if we weren't there. When a line cook brought our food, both orders were incorrect, but the waitress never returned, probably because it was so difficult to get in and out of the nook they sat us in. The food was good, although not what we specified.
food was excellent, great service, nice ambiance
Went there on Sunday . It was the best fish (manta with Mushroom Sauce) I had ever eaten. Beef tartar is unbelievable. Very difficult to find a tasty onion soup. They soup is fantastic. It was an awesome.
Great vibe. Great food. I loved this place and will visit again and again.
The restaurant has changed....and not for the better. Do yourself a favor and skip this one- there are many other restaurants in Williamsburg to try.
Outdoor dining was phenomenal, and the ambiance made up for the average to slightly above average food. Great bottle of wine as well, all served with a joke and a smile.
We had a 600 reservation. The restaurant was empty. The waitress did not know the menu. It was doneGood morning baby. All is well in Brooklyn week and we were not given the special menu. We later noticed that all the diners had to ask for the special menu. The cheese platter was skimpy should have been a little more than 3 thin slices of chees for the price. I enjoyed the French martini however. The bowl of muscles had many empty shells. As the tables filled it was hard to get the attention of the waitress as she was engaged on conversation with what appeared to be some regulars
Overall the experience was terrific. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The food was prepared extremely well.
Authentic French bistro with all your favorite French confort foods if you want them, and a lighter, more progressive touch on other dishes if you want that. Nice wine list and the kind of atmosphere where you want to spend your evening there, not rush off to the next thing. Saturday nights they have live gypsy jazz music and it's well worth hanging around for.
We live across the street from Fada and may never move because it has everything we love, friendly service, good food and great drinks. :)
Atmosphere is great, but the overall experience was diminished by the abrupt interactions with the host and the server. Not sure they really check their OpenTable reservations.
Had the confit de canard which was perfectly prepared: lots of succulent meat and crispy skin. With a nice glass of Rosé it all tasted very good. Friendly staff. Great garden!
The best thing about Fada is how friendly the staff is. The food is also very good. It is a reliable spot in a neighbourhood that has too many places of uneven quality.
This really is a lovely little place, with food I would consider some of the best I have had in Williamsburg. The pâté was exceptionally good, with a truly authentic flavor and texture. The steak frites was amazing, full of flavor and charred to perfection. As someone who likes medium-well steak I am more often than not disappointed, but not at Fada. It was perfect.
The ambience is great, with a good mix of American and European patrons who were enjoying the food and drinks.
My only issues with Fada are the size of the drinks ($10 for a teeny gin and tonic). Other than that, a wonderful evening, with great food in a great location.
I will definitely be going back.
The meal, service, and ambience was "bistro-like" and good. The food was delicious and well presented. However, we sat in the front of the restaurant and the flamenco entertainment was a bit too loud. It was difficult to have a conversation.
We will return for the food, etc., but ask to sit further away from the music.
The food was ok and the atmosphere on the outdoor patio was very nice. Unfortuntely the service was pretty awful. Even though the place was almost empty when we arrived, the server was slow to take our order, to deliver the food and even to give us our check.
Overpriced, and overcooked. The live music was great, and the place is nicely decorated. The food however is simply sub-par, especially for the price. Oversalted, overcook, and overgreased...
