Fabbrica Ratings and Reviews
When we arrived for our new years eve dinner we did not get a table in the dining area, and had to ask for the manager to get a better table, even though the restaurant was not full at that time, still not in the dining area but not in the bar area. It was disappointing as this was a special occasion and more disappointing because of the reason they gave us that those seats are reserved to regular people.
When you make a reservation it should be granted in the order people arrive and not based on their status. Also, Open table does not offer the option to chose the area where you want to sit.
I will not return to this restaurant because the way I was treated.
I have been to Fabbrica many times and have never had an issue. However, on this occasion we found that our wine glasses were empty and our bottle was not on our table, and I ordered the Rib eye steak and rapini and got the steak salad by accident. Which O decided to stay with as I did not want to make my guests wait for my food to be prepared before they can start. So I stayed with the steak salad and cancelled the rapini as it wasn't required anymore. The steak salad was good but a bit to salty for my taste which I shared with my waiter. When the error with the meal was discovered they offered to comp the steak salad and was going to send out the ribeye anyway and I politely declined as that would have been to much food was not required as we already had appetizers.
We had reservations but as soon as we were seated we were told the next reservation was at 8 and we had to be finished by then. Felt unnecessarily rude.
We got seated in the front section, which was cold and dark. We had to switch tables because we were directly under a vent. The next table wasn't much better. There was no music or ambiance to note, and no one was talking, so it was oddly quiet. As we are paying the bill, a server reaches over our table and cranks the heat from 23 degrees to 33 degrees and she complains about the cold too.
My GF liked the dessert, but we won't be back. We paid $130 and drank water.
The server also kept filling up our water glass after EVERY sip, and pushed us to buy a second bottle of $7 water before we were even done the first one. Also when my GF order the squid he said that she was eating too much protein and should order a side dish at an extra charge.
screw this place!
We had a great time! Service was excellent but not rushed. The server came over at intervals to filled up wine glasses and water and made sure we were satisfied. We never had to look for our server. The food was tasty and was a good portion. We felt satisfied and had good value for money spent. Parking was free and convenient.
Brought my mother in law celebrating her 95th birthday - what a HUGE mistake. The dinner was ok. At the end of the meal my wife approached our server and asked her to bring a special dessert with a candle. What she brought out - a single Oreo cookie on a plate with a Happy Birthday and a single candle - was an embarrassment and quite frankly, why we’ll never return to this restaurant. They should be ashamed!
We reserved for a 5pm/Sunday dinner. Not sure why, but we were seated in the bar area instead of the dining room, which would have been preferred. Odd considering it wasn't very busy.
Our server (although pleasant) was also the bartender.
Main complaints; we weren't checked in on by our server. Runners, served and cleared our plates. Our water glasses were never re-filled.
We ordered a bottle of wine for 4 people, when it was finished, we also weren't offered any other beverages or a second bottle.
By the time our meal was done, and the only time the server came back to our table to take our order for dessert, we couldn't be bothered and asked for our bill and left. What a waste of a birthday dinner.
We have been to Fabbrica several times and have never been disappointed. It is an excellent but not outstanding Italian restaurant. The salads were delicious and the mains that we chose were also very good. We found the vegetarian options were, however, very limited. Indeed, the menu seemed to have shifted more towards the carnivore. Dessert was very good although the gelato was average - certainly in comparison to Dolce on Danforth or, dare I say, Stella Luna in Ottawa (superb). Excellent wine list (by the glass) and the Canti Prosecco was superb.
Had a party of 10 (2 of them were kids) and the staff were very accommodating despite all my "demands" and questions. Staff were patient and attentive. Food was good, as usual. They even had the cake I ordered at McEwans ready at the restaurant without me even requesting it!
Food was fine. We had hunt down our server to take our order once we were ready as she forgot about us. Then our server left for the night and did not let us know that another server would be helping us. The new server did not know that she was taking over for our initial server. OVERPRICED for the quality and quantity of food. I would not recommend to anyone nor will I be going back.
This is my "go to" place for clients in the area as you can't go wrong with Michael McEwan's food. The salads and wood burning oven pizza were as good as ever. Our waiter was indifferent, never smiling and disengaged from his work. He waited fifteen minutes to approach us about ordering assuming a fourth person was coming without even asking in advance. Never asked us how our food was and didn't smile at other tables either. Needs to understand the concept of service with a smile as it will have a direct bearing on customer satisfaction and his own remuneration.
Decent place. Did enjoy our evening however the food wasn’t as good as I expected it to be. However our server was great. She went out of her way to make our night special.
The ambience was a bit too bright for an evening dinner reservation. Dinner was good and drinks were okay.
Always love this restaurant - and brought some good friends here this past weekend to try! They loved it as well.
I always ordered the Ravioli which is delish!
The only issue we had was I had ordered and paid for their homemade Chocolate Biscotti and they gave us a ticket. When we got home we realized they had not included it in the take home bag! Other than that it's a fabulous place to go!
