F & B Atlanta Ratings and Reviews
The update of F&B is very good. We had a great meal at a reasonable price. Hot bread, cold fresh water, great salads and the beef Bourgogne had a great twist to it. I have been here before as we love country French cuisine. This has improved and is worth a try.
Bar scene was active when we arrived. All was fine except I only ate half of my dinner - which was really good - and asked that the remaining portion be wrapped up to take home. The server only wrapped a portion of my dinner and threw out a side item, which he could have easily replaced. When I asked about it, he just shrugged and said "sorry."
Read other's reviews for F & B and all are consistent in service is lacking... Our waiter had to continue to return to the kitchen to get answers to our menu questions. I noticed that another table received bread - we did not. Our waiter removed our ice tea glasses once we received our check instead of inquiring if we wanted more.
We were disappointed to see the wonderful ciabatta bread missing. We weren't told of any specials, or asked if we wanted dessert. We were out on the porch and our waiter wasn't checking on us as much as we needed. 4 of the dishes in our group weren't cooked properly.
We love f&b and hope that this is not the new norm, but an exception.
Our dinning experience was mixed... the bad, service is lacking, server didn't know the menu, not sure if he is new, he didn't understand our order, his english wasn't very good so it was hard to communicate, when we were ready to place our order he was nowhere to be found until we saw him thru the kitchen window playing with his phone, we asked to talk to the manager but they told us he wasn't there yet ...it was 12.30 pm and no manager onsite.
The good... THE FOOD was superb, we had the scallops, the chicken ballotine and the croque madame without a doubt the best in town, we ate every bit of our lunch, and left wanting more, we will be back for the food, hopefully next time the service can be at the same level.
My husband and I were in the mood for French food and found F & B on Open Table. The food was very good and was nicely presented. We especially enjoyed the crepes for dessert. Our server was friendly, although, busy as they appeared to have been slightly understaffed. He answered our questions, but we would have enjoyed a more thorough exploration of the menu. The manager stopped by all of the tables to check on guests, which is a nice touch. If we were in the area, I would consider visiting again.
The restaurant is lovely and was quiet for a weekday birthday lunch. The wine list is good and not ridiculously priced like many restaurants. I elected to have the roast lamb, but was disappointed in the cut of meat. It was quite fatty and gristly, but was very tasty and the rosemary garlic aioli was delicious. My only complaint about the restaurant is that I didn't see anything on the web site about parking and when I arrived at the back of the building, I assumed the parking deck was where to park. Upon arriving at the restaurant I asked if they validated the parking and then I learned that there was complimentary valet parking. I was already late so I didn't go move my car and when I exited the garage, my parking bill was $18! Ridiculous. So, USE THE VALET PARKING!!!
Everything was perfect until the scallops came... We were so looking forward to eating at F&B, as we had followed them from Lenox to downtown and now here. Great singer doing Sinatra-type music... a friendly, helpful waiter... a cozy environment. There was enough of the salad to split it four ways. Soups were delicious (onion and white bean). F&B burger cooked perfectly. Lamb burger prepared just right. Two at our table had ordered scallops, and their plates came with three scallops and not much more. Even though a smaller plate attempted to make the three scallops look like enough, it was obvious that our diners felt cheated. A single additional scallop would have done the trick. So would have a side item that wasn't pureed as to pass for a smear on the plate. Oh, we will be back. Just not as enthusiastically as we came for this first meal. And not soon.
F&B is my favorite french restaurant in Buckhead. Easy access without the hassle of all the Buckhead traffic, valet parking option, excellent friendly service including a warm greeting by the hostess. Food is consistent and the atmosphere allows you to have a conversation!
The atmosphere was really nice. It seems to be inside of a hotel building. Valet parking complimentary here. The waiter Jeremy had awesome conversation and really knew how to interact with his customers. Decor was interesting. Food was delicious and cooked to perfection.
Mixed reviews. New server needs additional training. Very friendly and motivated, but slow and did not check on us. Food good, but not noteworthy. Note that half the restaurant has regular height tables and chairs; and the other half has bar height tables and chairs. We were seated in the bar area and were not comfortable.
We went for lunch. Both had the chicken and mushroom flatbread. It was fine but nothing outstanding. Not hot but I'm not sure it was supposed to be. We had a glass of wine and coffee. The coffee was not good. Expected some French style coffee but it was very weak. Too bad.
The lamb burgers, though ordered the same, were not cooked consistently. Two were too dry and one was OK. The mixed drinks were definitely sub-par. We considered returning two of them, but decided not to. The server was inattentive and not particularly friendly.
First time at the restaurant and was there for a lunch business meeting. I arrived to see no front person but Sara from behind the bar came around to greet me and my guest. Thought she was busy with other customers you could not tell by the smile we received when she walked up. We requested her section at a table in the bar area. She was great!! She knew we were there for business and gave us ample time to look over the menu and chat. She was very attentive on filling up our beverages and asking if we needed anything else. She made some awesome food recommendations for lunch as well. Will definitely come back and ask for Sara.
After not going to F&B for a long time we were VERY pleasantly surprised at how good it was. We all had something different and each dish was delicious. The service was excellent and we were able to have a conversation without screaming. Love the neighborhood gem and will return soon.
