We had a wonderful meal. My husband and I are always looking for something different. We are very adventurous eaters and sometimes find it hard to find something new. We found exactly what we were looking for here. The best part is that most of the dishes are tapas. We were able to try five dishes and each was amazing. Their cocktails are to die for. None of the cheap sugary crud. Each one we had was a prefect balance of flavors to the alcohol. We can't wait to got back. Sadly we couldn't try the WHOLE menu this time... I guess we will just have to go back very soon.
Extra Virgin was a fantastic means of going outside your comfort zone as far as your taste buds are concerned! Don’t let that scare you off though as most, if not all of the items on the menu are highly palatable even to the most picky of eaters, all the while maintaining a sense of quirkiness and creativity. If you’re in the mood for great tapas and something a little new: Extra Virgin is the place to go.
Food was delicious, served quickly. Friendly waitstaff. Great happy hour specials!
food was good but it was far too loud to enjoy. could not have a conversation
Always a fantastic time! Mickayla was our server and she always has great recommendations, she always has a smile.
Enjoyed a sunny afternoon on the patio with a girl friend and a nice glass (or two) of Rose. As always, the seasonal food was delicious and inventive. We shared several small plates including the roasted cauliflower, creamy asparagus soup, the green bean and potato salad and olives. We both eat "mostly" plant-based, and it is easy to do that here without feeling deprived. The green bean and potato salad was my favorite of this lunch - fingerling potatoes, green beans and hazelnuts and a nice tart dried fruit. I'd order a double next time and keep it to myself! Excellent service, buzzy atmosphere, just a wonderful experience.
The crab and spicy chorizo fried rice is AMAZING! Our server also recommended the shrimp and avocado tostada... also amazing! Love the food here
We enjoyed a very delicious, well-paced meal at Extra Virgin with friends. The service was outstanding and very attentive. We have several rounds of hot and cold tapas, cocktails, wine and desserts. All of the food was perfectly seasoned and portioned. EV is a great place to try something new, try lots of small bites, try a new cocktail, and enjoy a quality local restaurant. We will be back soon!
Great experience. We will come back again.
Happy hour here is divine! Super solid Old Fashioned and the mussels are IT
my wife's favorite wine and Greek salad ... very personable service
Great food fantastic friendly service and cool space
Fabulous meal!! Ashley was an excellent server.
Great tapas restaurant and worth the cost. Service was superb - our server was knowledgeable about the menu and its ingredients. The classic cocktails were excellent. Lots of life, friendly conversations, and a nice view of downtown KC from the south end.
Always fabulous and such a fantastic variety of dishes to choose from here, there is something for everyone. A great hh, if you've never tried it you definitely need to.
Great tasting food. Good atmosphere
Awesome dinner for my birthday. Loved the odd bits section of the menu
Absolutely charming, wide selection of foods that were all absolutely delicious!
Great evening with friends. The restaurant has great service, great food, and great energy.
Always great service and fantastic food. A little pricy but you’re paying for the quality and unique dishes.
Great service and food, thanks!
As always the Duck Tongue Tacos were wonderful but for some reason the other items were not as good as usual
Had a great time. Tried 8 different eclectic dishes and liked 7 of them. Very fun and interesting menu. You should go.
Extra Virgin is one of our favorite places to eat in KC. Great small plates, nice wines, friendly service. It is a bustling place in the city - doesn't everyone need a dose or more of that in their week? This visit we expecially loved the octopus and the ribs - but we have never had a bad meal in this restaurant. We'll be back!
The waitress, Marie was outstanding. She was very well acquainted with the menu and her recommendations were on point. She was very attentive. The empanadas are a must have. The pork shoulder could be less fatty. I think the atmosphere could be less noisy. I feel like I had to shout to speak to my group.
Great experience! Went on a Thurs. night in Feb. ...early, made a reservation for 5:15 PM and got seated immediately. By the time we left at 6:15/6:30, the place was packed. Happy Hour specials are terrific (4-6 PM) and include half-price for many (most?) of the small plates and a number of great drinks for only $2.50. Our total bill (including drinks and dessert) was under $40 for the two of us! I'd go again in a heartbeat. Nice job, Extra Virgin!
Very disappointed. I have celiac which is a gluten allergy. Most restaurants especially more on the fine dining side should either label or train their servers. We ordered salmon tuna ceviche which did not list soy sauce as an ingredient. We also mentioned to the server I needed everything to be gluten free. The dish was soaking in soy sauce. Next we got the ribeye which was so salty my mouth was was hurting. I hardly ever complain but this restaurant was a disappointment. When the mgr came around and asked how everything was I voiced my concern that the food should be labeled better and he made me feel like it was my fault for not know poke ceviche had say sauce.
Sad to have made a reservation for 8:30 and then not get seated until 8:50. This kind of flies in the face of the entire concept of Open Table.
It was a great!
You can’t beat the food or service at this place. All the tapas kept new and exciting. Ben, our server, even knew every spice in the dishes so his recommendations and expansions were outstanding. Can’t wait to return!
The food was different and delicious - we were inspired to try new things! Chris, our server, made wonderful recommendations and anticipated our needs. We will be back!
This restaurant is awesome! Great food, great prices!
Just an OUTSTANDING and Fun "Small Plate Place"
The chorizo and crab fried rice topped with a poached egg is the best fried rice I have ever had anywhere
Constantly changing, thus fun toward the Small Plate experience
Good food as well as innovative choices. Always surprising yet keeping the good favorites .
Been wanting to try this place for a while now, but unfortunately had a mediocre visit. The food was nothing special. Had a few good tapas, but the mussels were the worst I have ever had. The waiter took them off the bill, but from the moment he treated us poorly. Just a big disappointment for wanting to try this place for so long..
The food was decent but definitely not the best Tapas we have had. Furthermore, the value as the amount you get for what you pay is a little expensive. Environment though, was great and the waiter Sean did a great job.
I enjoyed the food. Great happy hour prices! Be ready to speak loudly when the noise level rises.
As usual, service was quick and attentive, and our meals were absolutely perfect.
Food was delicious!
