Extra Virgin - Kansas City
I asked if the food was spicy, they said no, and it was very spicy. The portions were ridiculously small for the price.
Delicious, loved it! It's now my second favorite restaurant in the city.
Great Spanish Tapax great wait staff (Mikela) and great Bar man as well. Really fun place.
This was my first time dining at Extra Virgin and I was thoroughly impressed by the assortment of small plates offered. They had very unique offerings including duck tongue tacos, chicken livers and sea urchin. There was also plenty to choose from if you don't have quite the adventurous palette. Service was slow in the beginning, but it was a very busy time of night around 7 p.m. Overall, I'd love to go back and try more plates including some of their cocktails.
Service was slow and the food came out in a very disjointed manner. Steak came out and no side vegetables that we ordered. Brussels sprouts showed after we were finished and mushrooms never came out. Food was good and drinks were good. Just very slow and strange service
We came for dinner before the Elton John concert. Even though it was packed we were still seated as soon as we arrived. Food came out incredibly quickly as well! It was pretty good. The “charred brussel sprouts” were very much still bright green and crunchy. The flavor was great, we just would have loved the char. Other than that everything was great. From the time we sat down to the time we had finished eating less than an hour had passed. Beebe was our server and she was great. She had vast knowledge of the menu and helped guide us through our dining experience. We will absolutely be back.
Fun environment with delicious food and friendly staff.
Great place to go for group meals. It's a lively space, but the sound didn't overwhelm our table's conversations.
Tapas are best to share! Every single dish we tasted together was delicious. Came here for lunch during the week and it wasn’t too crowded (as opposed to the dinner rush). Plenty of space at the bar and we were waited on attentively. Come here if you want your taste buds to get a revamp!
Food is absolutely delicious and the Extra Virgin team makes us feel like family. Prepare to be spoiled!!!
Really outstanding service!
An interesting and daring menu. Great flavors.
The steak was amazing (wish there was more food on the plate) & the pear drink was delicious. The lobster bisque was not my favorite. Pretty pricey. Service was awesome.
Overall great experience, as always.
Hadn't been there is awhile, but now I already want to go back! The food was incredible! So many things to try. Loved the poblano mac and cheese!
Very interesting and unique foods! I would go again. The restaurant week deal was NOT a deal, so don't go for that. But the good was very good and I want to go back to try other food options since it was so hard to try to pick just one thing to eat
Food was great as always. Have been to Extra Virgin many times and food as always above par. Some waitstaff are a little quirky, but one of males waitstaff is always on top of his game. He is entertaining, but not too intrusive and knows when to touch base.
Great vibe and fun place to hang out. Bar staff are always consistent and cocktails are spot on.
The food and service were exceptional. They easily accommodated a vegan meal for me. My only complaint is that it was very loud.
Every restaurant week my goal is to try places I've wanted to try but just haven't yet. I went with my coworker and we decided to each try the shrimp bisque, and split a order of polbano mac she hadn't been over to check on us. I had to flag her down to let her know and it took her over 10 minutes to even come back to let us know they were making it. To make up for the mistake and lack of service we were given a slice of coconut cake. It came out looking so good but once again we were sadly disappointed. All in all we were super disappointed about the whole experience!
We had a great time for lunch in the middle of restaurant week. We got the pork belly steam buns on suggestion from our server, and they were so good!! The crab fried rice was my favorite fried rice I’ve ever had!
Great food and service, but definitely on the expensive side
We came for restaurant week. It was my first time going there but I would definitely come back!
6 of us went for KCRW and the menu did not disappoint. I have been wanting to try this place for awhile and it was a good excuse to go. The cocktails were delicious, the wine was amazing and the food was awesome. They have live music and it wasn't too loud at all. We were all able to carry on a conversation and hear each other just fine. If you're looking for an experience, this place is definitely worth seeking out.
Extra Virgin is one of my favorite spots whether it's lunch or happy hour.
The food tasted great and the service was excellent. I wouldn’t go there to drink (a glass of wine was $9) and I wouldn’t go back unless there was a special event. The prices are high and the servings are small.
Excellent. One of my favorite restaurants!
We loved it. All dishes were fantastic. Ordered roasted brussels sprouts, ricotta and rosemary grilled bread, squid ink pasta, smoked beet and tahini salad and churros. Wine by the glass good choices and prices were in line. A lot of dishes reduced for happy hour time frame until 6pm. Great service by Michaela and team. We will be back!! Very fun time.
Excellent tapas style dining with creative flavor profiles. Love it every visit!
We had made a late reservation and although EVO was closing, they were very welcoming. The food and the service are always good. There is not one menu item that we dislike. It is a great venue with good food and great service.
As always we had incredible food and service at Extra Virgin!! The hangar steak was delicious along with all of our other tapas!
I've been eating here for 10 years, and I still love it. Menu always surprises us - great destination for foodies. 50+ unique small plates.
New Year’s Eve
I always like the food at this restaurant and i become a faithful customer. I always make sure every time I come to Kansas City I dine at this restaurant.
Food was great as always. Highly recommend. Save room for dessert. The crostada is sweet and savory.
Service was excellent
Travis has made hot buttered rum for the holiday season and it is delicious! Festive environment to share visits with family and friends!
Great food. Lots of options. Flavors amazing. Lively atmosphere. Can be a bit loud. Good value.
Loved everthing about the restaurant except the noise level. Had to shout to be heard. The two men behind us were shouting which made us have to shout even more!! Excellent food and great service.
It had been a while since we'd gone to Extra Virgin - but it didn't disappoint. We took a friend/coworker from the Seattle area and they love the food, menu, and staff knowledge of gluten-free options.
The small plates were delicioius - duck tongue tacos, wood-fired mushrooms, beef heart with Chimichurri, octopus with potato and pepper. We ordered 6-7 plates to share and loved them all. The beef heart and octopus were table favorites.
Interesting venue, great food, good happy hour values - we'll be back.
Only complaint - the shaped plywood seats are a C.
I am from Kansas City, live downtown and have been to almost every restaurant. Once again, Extra Virgin has confirmed with me that it is my absolute favorite.
