Used to come to this spot all the time and it was always great. Went recently and found out they changed owners. The food quality was way down and the overall experience just wasn’t what it used to be. Great spot in the summer for the frozen drinks but no longer our go to local spot. Shame as food used to be great. Feels like the quality has dropped.
Friendly attentive staff! Enjoyed the chill vibe while dining. Food was reasonable and good for the price.
25th Birthday...nothing special regarding the birthday, food was excellent, service was fair--nothing special. Felt like a regular meal. Took a long time for the waitress to notice us, never asked if we needed more drinks or any thing else. Menu in OpenTable had many more items that the restaurant didn't have and they were the reason we went all the way to Brooklyn to this place. A little disappointing.
Saturday brunch with my daughter, a girlfriend and her daughter. The girls have mature palettes (10 and 11 year olds) so we enjoyed clams and corn bread (the honey butter was delish) as appetizers. The meals we selected were scrumptious. I would like to see non pork sausage and bacon options, other than salmon (which is what I substituted for on my Eggs Benedict) just to increase the variety in the meals that offered pork bacon and pork sausage. We went there for the frosemonade and were not disappointed. We will be returning before the end of summer for lobster rolls and a grown up brunch!
First time here ....AMAZING! Loved it. Oysters were so delish. I'll definitely go back.
Very eclectic ambiance and the food menu. I had a drink with bourbon, coffee and milk that was yummy, as well as a mini skillet of baked eggs.
Horrible food! Way overpriced and out of 4 dishes and 3 specialty drinks all were terrible. Seriously would never recommend
Great for a very very late dinner before a night out. I, of course, was running late for a night out and my husband and I were looking for a place to grab a good bite on our way. Extra Fancy is a great bar scene and their food is unreal. Perfect for a late night bite and drink!
Overall pretty mediocre,
The burger and steak were pinker than a flamingos derriere and the crab sandwiches were a physical offense. No second chances. The chef should be jailed and then jailed again.
Had a great time here with another couple. Overall great value with entrees under $20 and several solid wine options under $40. Solid choice for a fun, uncomplicated date or dinner with friends.
Loved the crispy fish tacos and the fried chicken sandwich. pimento cheese delish but the crackers were odd. skip the lobster fries, sounds better than it is. Drinks are strong
Lively atmosphere, has a fun time.
Great meal will be back
We went for Mother's Day Brunch. Our Grandson (almost 3) loved the blueberry pancakes. The place was loud but not loud enough to be distracting. The only negative was the coffee.
Really fun time. Great for day drinking. Frozen g&t rocks!
The dishes were over-priced for the value of food they served us. The amount of lobster that was in the extra fancy poutine was very small tiny chopped up bits that was equivalent to maybe about a table spoon and the dish costed $17. I questioned if it was even lobster meat because it looked like small pieces of chopped up shrimp. Taste wise, the food was mediocre. Definitely over-priced, their photos on yelp are inaccurate.
lobster poutine was great as were burgers. the lobster roll was a little too "saucy". was expecting more of a CT style with butter and minimal mayo.
Service was great. Cool place. :)
Delicious spot with fantastic service for my sister's 25th Birthday Party this weekend. Our group loved our food and had a blast! Given how much we ate and drank, Extra Fancy is relatively affordable as well.
Great service and the food was great. Loved all the different options on the menu. The beer on tap and drinks are also fantastic. One of my favorite places in Brooklyn
Best impromptu visit (Fri Night @ 130am) which lead to GREAT CONVERSATION over good food (Lobster Roll, Fish Tacos, Fries), drinks (pina colada) and great tunes playing. Nice vibe all around. The waiter was super attentive. The Best waiter we've had in a long time w his 1/2 inch gage earrings I couldn't help but admire. Also the bartender was just as attentive in fulfilling our drink request perfectly. He came from the bar, out of his way to personally take notes on how exactly we wanted our drinks. AMAZING! Overall a Great Experience. We will Definitely return. POSSIBLY TONIGHT 😊
Very authentic old-school (maybe even New Orleans) feeling bar/restaurant with friendly staff, great blues music, and distinctive ambiance. Food was good and prices were reasonable for NYC. Looks unassuming from the outside, but really homey inside. Would definitely recommend you check it out.
Burger was DELICIOUS. Lobster roll was mediocre with very little lobster for the $29 price tag. Insulting actually.
I'd go back for the burger for sure though. Oh and the shishito pepper app was great!
Not worth it, awful service and a poor brunch menu
Seated about 45 mins after our reservation time but the experience was wonderful. Incredible cocktails and tasty food!
They're signature Extra Fancy seafood bake was killer!! They had some really great oysters! Loved the raw bar, though snow crabs are seasonal.
Extra amazing server was extra awesome all around extra great place
Six of us met up here for some dinner and drinks that would accommodate any type tastebuds. It's a very laid back and friendly environment that mixes up some pretty well made cocktails. Ordered a bunch apps for the table to taste and taste they had! Each dish just tasted right. I got a perfect med--rare burger, as an Entree, it did not disappoint. 👍👍👍
Ceviche was good! Great outdoor space for a beer outside!
This was a walk in place we found while wandering around bklyn after a concert. The oysters were amazing and the curried cauliflower was so flavorful! We asked for a mixed drink with whisky instead of tequila and got Rudely corrected by the waiter saying that the entire drink would taste differently because of our request.
We were seated in the front bar area because of a private party in the back, so it was a little loud for catching up with a friend on a Friday night birthday dinner. The bartenders and service staff were great. Kitchen was a little slow. The food was fantastic (chicken livers on toast, lobster bisque, hush puppies, lobster rolls) and we will definitely go back to sample the rest of the menu.
Great place for a birthday dinner! Food was delicious, great service, awesome music. We had a great time!
Wait staff was very friendly. When the check was set on the table, she said "No rush. Take your time." And she meant it. Food was high quality, no too fussy or overly done, and seasoned nicely. Energy is good but noise level is probably too much for a romantic date. I live close by. This was my first visit. I'll go again. Highly recommended.
I always have a good time at Extra Fancy the food was delicious especially their octopus appetizer with sunchoke puree i think but the octopus was cooked perfectly the drinks were well made and the wait staff were so friendly and accommodating it was a great night for me and my friends so if you are in Williamsburg check them out.
We tried to order fish and chips, a couple different crab options. However, the restaurant was out of fish and crab. This restaurant prides itself on seafood and does not have seafood. The prices were expensive for what was eventually delivered. We had to wait 15 minutes, even though we made a reservation. Nothing was comped even though we had to order more expensive items because half the menu was not available. The lobster roll was very small and the rest of my plate was covered with french fries.
The waiter was cool and the location is nice. Prob never going there again though.
Excellent and really creative small plates and appetizers. Perfect for sharing among friends, and a great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend to friends and will definitely be back!
All we ordered were very tasty and delicious. My kids love their fries with lobster sauce and corn bread. The clam with puff rice was the best.
I worked in the service industry for over 15 years, and I'm sensitive to the nuances of how the industry works. When something goes wrong, I know what to forgive and what not to. The staff at Extra Fancy went out of their way to fix what was a sub-par meal and a long wait. They were kind and patient and really some the best wait staff I've had. Ultimately, the food just wasn't very good for the price.
Bangin food. It was warm inside tho. Definitely get the lobster bisque fries! (Didn't love the sauce on the fried chicken)
food was fine, just waaay overpriced for what it was
It was nothing short but great and Super "fancy"
