Exchange Street Bistro Ratings and Reviews
My boys took me for Mothers Day. We all ordered from the special menu and did not regret it. They had filet mignon and I had the salmon, all perfectly cooked and delicious. We had a nice bottle of Beaujolais to accompany our meal. We were expecting the Chef who had been there for the past 2 years, who was excellent; but we were not disappointed by the new Chef who came out to meet us at our request.
The waitress was delightful. All in all a very good experience.
food was very good. rolls were warm. we had to move to another table, as the waiter dropped my husbands drink, and the glass shattered spilling the drink on his pants, and the chair. We had to move to clean up , and the chair was wet. . Everyone was very attentive, and helped to make us comfortable. The manager offered second round of drinks on the house. We had a lovely time, and would definitely go back. we felt bad for the waiter , as he must have felt bad, but, it happens . He kept his composure and did a wonderful job. I had the Salmon , with risotto. my only complaint was that the risotto was not warm, but the fish was perfect. My husband had Scallops, but they looked lonely on the plate, without very many veggies . My daughter had a pizza, that was supposed to have sauteed onions, but, did not have any onions. My daughter's boyfriend had Steak F rites, and enjoyed that. The martinis were very good. So much to think about , but I do enjoy your restaurant.
We've been to Exchange Street Bistro before and were happy to go back with friends. They have excellent cocktails there. The noise level can get bas sometimes, we were early on this particular time so it wasn't bad. I had the Winter Burrata salad - yum, my husband had a burger with my favorite fries, the really thin ones. One of our friends had the grilled salmon which she said was good. We'll go back again.
It was the first time I went to this restaurant and the food was excellent! We had the fish tacos which were the BEST I ever had!
We also had the salmon which we sent back because it was not cooked enough for our taste, and it came back perfect! The waiter was attentive, and overall a delicious experience ! Would highly recommend this restaurant and will go back again!
As always, we were not disappointed with any of the choices we made when we ventured out on a Satruday night whim. In regards to making a reservation through Open Table, we were greeted by the hostess by name and were seated immediately. We ordered the Mussels appetizer which was phenomenal. Huge Mussels with plenty of broth to dip your bread in. Food was also outstanding and the restaurant was really busy for a weekend occasion. We have enjoyed the mwnu choices made by Mr. John Carlino for years now, and have never struck out. Put the Exchange Street Bistro on your list as, always accommodating, always delicious, great drinks, terrific service, value pricing and your" can't miss must go" restaurant.
Food is always fresh and excellently prepared. The service has always been super sweet, even when we are the jerks who come in 20 minutes before close. The only drawback is the noise, do not come here if you're trying to hear what your dinner guests have to say.
The food was amazing only quick mishap was undercooked shrimp in our app that was fixed immediately. Server was very personable and extremely nice. The only corrective criticism would be on the wine service it was not at the level of dining that the food was, 2 separate bottles of the same wine were different vintages glasses were not changed and the second bottle that was 2013 after the first that was 2014 was corked which again was fixed immediately with another bottle of 2014. The servers just need more training on wine service, removing foil correctly, not spinning the bottle, do not let the bottle neck rest on the glass while pouring, things that may sometimes to unnoticed but worth pointing out especially if we were to order a more expensive bottle that were available on the menu. Entrees were all top notch and bread pudding was perfect finish to the meal!
Service was absolutely deplorable, which we were surprised by because of our previous good experiences. We were seated at 7:45PM. Our appetizers didn't come out until 9PM and dinner at 9:30PM. Willing to forgive and forget.
Exchange Street Bistro never disappoints! The food was excellent (as usual) and the martinis are outstanding. But more than anything, the service of the waitresses and the host and hostess was so warm and accommodating and so very appreciated, especially given our circumstances (we were taking a friend out for dinner after she experienced a recent loss of a loved one). Thank you so much for the good food, great drinks and flawless hospitality!
Sharing a table with other couples. After making reservations is unacceptable. When asked to be moved to an open booth the male who sat us had to check with the computer. Then proceeded to sit another couple in that booth. Very unprofessional. Really turned a nice family valentine dinner into an awkward dinner. Plenty of places to eat in this area. Would not go back.
Did I mention management, as they checked on all the other diners ignored the table with multiple families/ couples.
Somewhat hidden gem in Malden Center. My wife and I always love going to ESB. We decided to celebrate V-Day early and pretty much had the place to ourselves on a Monday evening. It was a nice change as we are used to ESB being pretty busy. Food is always excellent and affordably priced. Service is always great as well.
The last time I was here, last Mother's Day, my family took me for "Brunch". When the reservation was made were asked specifically if it was Brunch and they said yes. When we arrived it was dinner and we were very surprised. When we asked about it and said we were told it would be a Mother's Day brunch she said - Hmmm a lot of people have said that. We left because we didn't want rib eye at 10am.
This time we did go for brunch. We waited over 30 minutes for our meals. We ordered the "waffle stuffed with nutella", it was just a waffle with chocolate sauce sprinkled over the top - disappointing. The food was just ok. Since it took so long to come, they rushed us out the door for the next group to sit.
