The food was great. The service was good but price was too high. My friend and I each paid $90 including tax and tips. The price point is equivalent to a 1 Michelin’s star restaurant. But I don’t think the overall experience is on par with restaurants at that level...
Everything was perfect! The General Manager Panos is the best. He is a real asset to the restaurant.
This was my second time at Evvia, although the first time for dinner. The food is unquestionably good but overpriced for what you get. I was startled when, upon ordering a premium vodka from the very nice bar, I was told they do not stock that brand and so I had to pick a substitute. I find this inexcusable in a restaurant of this caliber. The complementary bread and olive oil were delicious and my friend and I agreed it was the best olive oil we ever tasted. I wish I could have bought a bottle. We each ordered an appetizer, entree, and glass of wine. My kabob of artichoke and eggplant was tasty but I would have enjoyed it more had the pieces of eggplant been smaller. The mousakka was delicious. Being unfamiliar with their mostly Greek wine list, our server made a suggestion for a red similar to Merlot. It was adequate but not up to my standards. I think they should add some domestic labels to their menu. The server was friendly and attentive, the ambiance lovely but surprisingly noisy for a Monday early dinner. I had indicated on Open Table that we were observing a birthday. I must admit I was disappointed when no complementary dessert or apperetif arrived. The night before I had been at a far more modest establishment and was presented with a dessert by the owner herself. Overall I think Evvia is excellent. I do, however, prefer their lunch menu.
I simply love this restaurant. It's always super busy. Making a reservation can be a challenge unless you want to eat very late.
Food is phenomenal. I always get the grilled Bronzino. So flavorful. I had " the Evvia salad" as my appetizer.
My husband had the roasted beet salad. Both very good but the beets definitely the winner of the two. For dessert we had the Greek yogurt with honey and dates. You want to share it but it's really delicious.
Food is relatively expensive but you leave the restaurant satisfied. We keep coming back.
Our dinner at 5:30 pm was rushed by the server. It was not a place to relax and enjoy the weekend.
Everything we had at Evvia was delicious. The grilled fish and lamb chops were both perfect and very flavorful. For appetizers, we thoroughly enjoyed the "gigantes" beans and the feta with the chili flakes. The baklava/custard -type dessert was very sweet but also good. Definitely want to return soon to try more items off the menu!
Refet is probably the best server I have ever had. For me he is Evvia!
Thanks for having such a wonderful restaurant and employees
We usually get the delicious octopus appetizer and either lamb souvlaki or rack of lamb. Ordered the branzino once and it was incredible. The potatoes and tzatziki are always excellent. On our last visit we ordered dessert, a strawberry buttermilk cake with rhubarb compote—YUM! Service was terrific and we love the atmosphere as well. Will try to branch out from lamb soon, but it's difficult!
Never, Ever, Disappoints - I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal - had the octopus appetizer, tender and delicious, my guest had the pork chops - excellent and I had the Salmon lunch plate, no one cooks the fish to perfection like Evvia.
The food is always excellent. Our waitress was great. Very friendly and accommodating.
Food was fresh flavored and beautifully plated. The waiter, Lucas, was informative, friendly and very helpful with helping us make our choices.
We had several appetizers and each one arrived at our table not only correct temperature but beautifully plated. The house salad was crisp, the dressing was creamy and enhanced the salad
The main dishes were lamb chops. Flavor was outstanding, perfectly prepared and the flavor outstanding.
The evening was very festive, we did not feel rushed and our waiter gave us very attentive service.
What can I say - this is the best restaurant in the Peninsula.
This must be at least the 5th year my BFF and I have celebrated out birthday at Evvia and they never disappointing. The food is delicious and service spectacular. See you next year!
Always a great place for lunch! I would eat here every day if I could!
Evvia is definitely one of my favorite, if not my favorite, restaurants in the Bay Area. Everyone should have the luxury of experiencing exceptional food, service, and ambience. It is always a treat and a pleasure.
Excellent. Service was incredible and very attentive. Some restaurants wait for the entire dinner party to arrive before you’re seated but the hostess sat us down right away and early even though two of our guests were still on their way. The food was excellent. The Greek coffee has to be the best coffee I’ve ever tasted and believe me I’ve traveled the world. I would highly recommend this restaurant. I generally ask myself after dining if I would return to an establishment. And I would dine here again and again.
Wonderful food, ambience and service!
We've been here before and liked it. The food is good. Our server was really bad though and it messed up the whole experience. Not friendly, not very professional, he didn't seem like he wanted to be there. Otherwise, with a nicer server, we'd give it another chance.
Evvia continues to excel. The salads, entrees and desert at our table were all outstanding, and the service was exceptional. I was happy with both the quality of the food and the presentation.
I always enjoy the opportunity to dine at Evvia. The service is always exceptional and the food is consistently delicious. Thank you.
Hadn't been to Evvia for a couple of years and was really looking forward to a great meal...instead had just a good one. Calamari and octopus starters were OK. The lamb kabob with was ordered medium came out pretty rare, and the slices of whole spit roasted lamb -- which we were told was "cooked through" -- came out well-done and dry. The whole grill roasted branzino was the highlight. At these prices, I wouldn't go back.
We had the octopus, branzino and the grilled artichokes and eggplant- all outstanding
Our waiter recommended some wonderful Greek red wines
Highly recommend this restaurant
Bring a big group and order dishes to share
As always, Evvia was exceptional. It's a consistently excellent experience.
One of the best meals I’ve ever experienced. I chose the roasted branzino. It was perfection. Crispy skin and succulent white meat inside. Server boned it for me - so appreciative! Husband ordered lamb kabobs medium rare and they were melt in your mouth tender. Loved everything!
Great service. Much better than most of the competition. Noise level low and did not interfere with table conversation, very unusual.
Our waitress wasn’t professional. Her service did not match with their food quality for sure. It’s a shame...
The service was so awful. Not just one server but three. I have been to Evvia a few times before and it was my friend’s first visit. Neither of us would want to go back after this dinner
Food was very good. Choice of wines and the service was outstanding. The Menu was a bit pricier than anticipated. This is an ideal place for special occasions.
Service was very slow. Appitzer came out late after our salad. Took almost an hour to be served our main dish. Then the Salmon was undercooked and poor flavor. Salad and appetizers we’re excellent
Terrific lamb chops, wonderful appetizers (We had the octopus and the smelt). The pinot noir by the glass was one of the best I've had. Service was very good too. A little under $200 with tip makes it a special occasion restaurant. But we'll be back!
Evvia has become our favorite restaurant for special occasions. Food is always great and the service is also excellent. Highly recommend it.
Exceptional Greek cuisine. The artichoke souvlaki was surprising and excellent. Great spot for lunch in Palo Alto.
Very accommodating to the customer. Excellent waiter
My boss was there for a business meeting. Perhaps I should've requested a corner table. It was quite loud in the restaurant and there was a child being very loud and running around. Very disruptive to a conversation. I was bummed to hear this as I can rarely get a reservation there and was thrilled to finally be able to get one , just to hear it wasn't a great experience. :(
It was just OK, considering the price. I ordered classic salad with no onions when it came it was full of onions. Octopus was really tender and great taste. Lamb chops were over cooked ( we ordered medium rare and got it well done). Whole fish was one of the best. So over all it was ok.
Outstanding dinner ! We had the grilled octopus and Greek salad. I had the grilled branzino for my entree was the best !!! Kind of on the pricey side $300.00 for dinner for 4 but so amazing.
Disappointing. I hope rhis is not the start of a long slow slide.
Great ambience, lamb chops were incredible!
Evvia is our favorite restaurant and never disappoints. The food, the staff and their knowledge about the food, and the atmosphere is always extremely pleasant!
