About Evvia

Sister restaurant of Kokkari, Evvia has been serving beautiful and elegant Greek cuisine since 1995. Fabulous fish, savory roasted meats, and sun-soaked vegetables are jazzed up with a spritz of lemon, a little olive oil, and herbs. There is perfection in simplicity.

Having been a long time Evvia fan I was disappointed in my most recent experience. I was here for a business lunch (party of 2). We did not receive our food for over 50 minutes. The waiter did not check on us during this time but when he brought the food he said it was our own fault because my dining companion had ordered lamb kebabs. The food was good but not as good as I had remembered.

My wife and I had our 1st wedding anniversary here. The grilled sea bass, while expensive, was amazing. Everything was great. To top it off, somehow they figured out it was our anniversary and gave us a complimentary dessert which was extra delicious.

Very nice place. Overall the ambiance and class is quite high. But the layout makes it difficult to have a conversation if the people next to you are loud.

The food is fresh and well seasoned. Options for sides are disappointing.

I love the way they prepare the fish here! I always come back!
I also recommend the lamb, in any of their ways, it is amazing :)

No question, Evvia is the Best Restaurant in Palo Alto. Fantastic food, great service and
attention to detail. Totally worth it, even tough we had to make a Rez two weeks in advance.
The Best.

We really enjoyed the food - good appetizer selections with the drinks and since we had a lot of appetizers we requested to split Entrees and the restaurant gladly brought them out with already splitting them for us.

The lamb was very tasty, but the calamaris weren't very good. The dessert was excellent!
The service was normal, the only problem was they don't leave the wine in the table and when our glasses were empty we have to wait somebody notice and serve more wine.

Overall very good, but was disappointed in the sea bass which was recommended by our server and unfortunately was quite dry as well as bland. Also the veggies served with were on the oily side. Apps and dessert were delicious.

My husband and I were in Palo Alto for a weekend getaway and dined at Evvia. It didn’t disappoint on any level. We had several fabulous meals during our weekend, but this was my favorite! Everything was so flavorful, the meat dishes were tender and amazing, and the atmosphere lovely. Highly recommend.

Been here several times over the years since it opened but it has almost grown too popular. The restaurant is noisy, the chairs are very uncomfortable, the tables are too close to the neighboring tables, the small plates are lacking creativity and flavor. The main menu although good is not exceptional given the price and the loud atmosphere. Its should be exceptional and it is just ok.

Kokari, which is their sister restaurant in San Francisco provides an overall better dining experience. I would rather drive the 33 miles from Palo Alto to San Francisco for a better, more sophisticated dining experience.

There were two BD people in my party. Waiter told us he has their dessert figured out! I thought he was doing that as complementary. But we were charged. The cost is not even worth a minute of my time but as a matter of principal if it was not a treat then we should have been given a chance to chose. If a nice gesture of a treat had been carried out I would have left a tip to compensate anyway. It left me wondering what was it about... sounding like it was a treat and then finding out that it was not.
The moussaka was also not so good.

The food is great here, one of Palo Alto’s best restaurants. Our waiter was very experienced but could have spoken louder. We could hear more from the waiter next to us than our waiter.

Stellar as usual, not one thing could have been better, even though my waiter mistook my ordering one of each kind of rose for giving me and my friend two of each, we both decided that was an excellent way to do it and didn't correct him. I could eat a pound of those dolmathes, omg. MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN THE PENINSULA.

Evvia's game has slipped a little, at least for an ordinary business lunch on a recent Thursday. The house was not full, yet the kitchen was extremely slow. Drinks, mains (no starters) and desserts with coffee, for a party of 3, stretched fully two hours. Headed to the restroom, I noticed the "pass" loaded with cooked plates, just sitting there waiting for runners or servers. Too few servers for the room, basically. As for food quality, yes it's good Greek, but so is Opa!, at half the price. Years in, Evvia seems to be a place to be seen, not to be dazzled.

What's to say? The food at Evvia is incredibly delicious. I had the Branzino Fish, with braised greens. We had the Feta, olive, cherry tomatoes. So good! My friends like the Chicken Souvlaki. Never had a meal I didn't thoroughly enjoy.
