Great food, great service, will definitely come back
Evvia is one of my favorite restaurants ever. Every single thing on the menu is amazing. And lots of vegetarian options!
Always love my meal at Evvia. I go there about every 3 months when I'm in Palo Alto
Terrific food (especially the fish - perfectly cooked) - our only comment was that we wished the grilled octopus was more grilled!
The service was very attentive. The noise level was a little higher than we expected, but the warm ambiance made up for it.
There was a man that probably was moderately drunk (almost non-responsive) but they literally picked him up and brought him out a side door - it was done very quietly and professionally.
We will be back!
We love dining at Evvia! I could make a meal out of the appetizers alone, but the fish dishes are so great as well. The ambiance and service are always perfect. Because of this it is a challenge to obtain a reservation but when we can get in, we always say that this is one of our favorite restaurants on the Peninsula. We enjoyed it very much. Thank you!
Great service from David.
I love Evvia. Previous reviews have always noted the quality of food, expert use of ingredients etc, but at this visit, I’d like to comment on just how pleasant they are to work with. I had an atypical request that Opentable’s app could address in time, and the time the host/owner worked with me at least try and find a solution was really appreciated. One can’t always get what one wants, but the time they put in made me appreciate Evvia just the same.
The food was delicious. The service was impeccable and they didn't rush us at all. I will go back soon.
We have been to Evvia numerous times and they have never failed to deliver the best meal and exceptional sesrvice of all of the restaurants we have ever enjoyed.
Great place, amazing food. If you like lamb chops, they grill theirs to perfection and serve it with lemon and garlic. So good!
Delicious food in a very comfortable atmosphere. Had a bean appetizer that was so good and reminded me of a dish my Greek Grandmother used to cook. The lamb sandwich was very tender and flavorful. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Evvia is terrific. Outstanding in every way thanks to the work of Panos, Maria and the extremely professional and responsive team. I always want to go back for more of their delicious, consistently great food and relaxed and beautiful surroundings.
We ordered too much food. The menu makes it sound good and it was.
Evvia has a fantastic selection of authentic Greek food. I had been craving decent Domades, Spanikopita, and Baklava for ages and I have finally found a place that knows what they are doing and does it well! Furthermore, while at Evvia we met the owner and he was extremely generous and kind. I would recommend getting a reservation well in advance as the restaurant is super popular!
I wouldn't recommend the lamb sandwich as it has very little lamb, mostly just bread. But the egg lemon soup was very good as was the baked feta appetizer.
Food was great! Had the grilled lamb chips which were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Wife loves the halibut and for the little guy we were given orzo and lamb meatballs which were fantastic. Would definitely go back next time we are in Bay Area.
Outstanding food and service
Everything was perfect. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone. It's also close to local bars and shopping. You need to reserve with time because they are always booked.
Fantastic food. Great service. Much quieter at lunch than at dinner.
Really good! The artichoke starter and the lamb are absolutely amazing.
Another wonderful meal courtesy of Evvia. They always provide an enjoyable evening and great food too!
Everything was perfect--as always. We've been going there since they opened. Amazing consistency and excellence for such a long stretch!!!!!!!!
It’s rare an Opentable can get a 5 star review but this is one of the top 10 in Northern California .
The host, who i can't remember her name, was fantastic. We came in 50 minutes before our reservation and within 10 minutes move things around and had us seated so quickly... Love this place more because of her...
Evvia is a long established and popular restaurant often ranked among the best in Palo Alto. The room is comfortable and attractive and the service excellent. However we found the food to be ordinary and the prices high. A hunk of lamb grilled on the rotisserie was just a hunk of meat - neither interestingly spiced, nor exceptionally tender - yet it cost $47. The salmon came covered in a tomato based sauce that seemed a bizarre combination. In all, disappointing.
Our go to restaurant in Palo Alto. Actually, we believe this is the very best restaurant (outside of San Fran city) in the entire Bay Area.
Always first class service, Food is excellent. Place is always packed any day/time of week. Always a great atmosphere. Tables not on top of each other.
This is my favorite restaurant in the Bay Area. Great food, ambiance and just the right amount of everything
Excellent food and service at Evvia as usual. Highly recommend the lamb and the whole grilled fish.
It's clear why this place is always full: From ambiance to food, it is perfectly packaged. Got here after an evening performance at Bing Concert Hall to find it still bustling; while I have eaten here a few times before, I was glad to discover that it open beyond 10pm on the weekends—an exception here in suburbia. I typically go for the same main dish—grilled whole branzino—as I think Evvia does the best job of it in the area and almost makes me believe I am back in Portugal where I grew up. Also had the octopus appetizer: wonderful! My companion had the lemon soup (avgolemono) and moussaka and polished both off happily too. The wine certainly didn't detract. We were surprised to realize it was past midnight when we were ready to leave: that's how little effort they made on shuffling us out the door.
Wife and i
Excellent, high quality raw ingredients assembled in innovative ways. Well executed traditional dishes plus interesting salads and small plates. Great service, warm ambience. Quiet enough for conversations but convivial.
Totally overrated. Spanakopita was cold, Moussaka was hotter than anything i’ve ever been served in a restaurant.... bill came in at over $100 per person???? It’s hyped because the cool silicon valley peeps eat here, but the quality of food has nose dived in the last 20 years...
Evvia has been our go to special occasion restaurant for 20 years. Fresh, vibrant Greek food so exquisitely flavorful, you can’t help but savor every bite. Authentic dishes, excellent Greek wines and a convivial atmosphere. We hope to keep coming back for another 20 years.
People are very friendly and knowledgeable about the food
Split four appetizers + the sokolatina desert. The gigantes, beets, and artichoke appetizers were delicious. The shrimps were just ok (come w/heads & full tail). The sokolatina is just amazing. We were seated the moment we arrived, and service was friendly and efficient, even though they were almost full.
Delicious regular menu choices and a great recommendation for the main course by our waiter.
This was my third time dining at Evvia but my first lunch. As always the service and food were exceptional.
The lemon chicken soup was amazing.
A highly enjoyable restaurant to entertain business associates, family and good friends
