Service excellent from the moment we entered the restaurant. Food - appetizer, main course and dessert very good. Excellent wine recommendations. Prices very reasonable for the quality. A favorite restaurant that continues to earn our loyalty.
These were the best scallops I ever had! My boyfriend had the whole red snapper prepared great and so very fresh. Delicious!
Second time here. Still consistent with great service, fresh innovative delicious food. Highly recommend a visit here.
The food was great, carefully prepared with fresh, local ingredients, and it tasted very good. The service was accurate. I would recommend this place for any occasion. I will certainly go back there the next time I’m in Boston.
Truly a fantastic find! Great, local food. Innovative dishes and presentation. Wonderful experience and what incredible combinations of flavors!
We missed the energetic feel to the place we experienced on visits 3 or 4 years ago. While the food was OK, it lacked the WOW factor we remember....no excitement. I worry that EVOO is maybe not doing so well now; we got a reservation 3 hours before on a Saturday night with no trouble. Service was excellent, as before. But sitting at a high top table where we could see the "kitchen"...the three cooks looked a bit bored
and were standing around waiting for orders. BTW, the owners are great people, we know them from their sister eatery, ZA....Cambridge and Arlington.
Hi We'd love to be busier on Saturday night as well. In Kendall Square, there is not much weekend attraction other than the restaurants and still not enough of a resident base. We do offer a weekend prix fixe menu to encourage weekend business. The Volpe and Constellation Center Proects will help enliven the area. Thanks for continuing to come to EVOO and we hope to see you on whichever night you'd like to dine with us.
Everything was excellent. We had burger, cod and chicken dinners as well as steak tartare appetizers.
Great waiter very knowledgeable on menu and beers
The atmosphere is energetic and the food is excellent. EVOO knows how to put flavors together so they work well. The baked Blue Cod is fantastic. And something as common a latte' at EVOO is an experience! It was a masterpiece of flavors blended to provide the perfect accompaniment to the outstanding Parsnip Cake with Sticky Toffee Sauce and Prune – Armagnac Ice Cream. Just WOW!
Our server was so efficient and kind. We loved the food!!
We got there around 8:30, asked to sit where we could see the NCAA finals and eat the full menu at the same time and were seated at the bar. The barman wasn't terribly interested in serving us -- he was busy cleaning things although it seemed a bit early for that -- it took many attempts to get him to get our courses on the move. The food and wine were okay but the tab was high for what we ate and especially what we experienced.
Best quality ingredients, best tasting food, best staff, best everything!! So much flavor and thought put into each dish.
All good quiet
EVOO was a nice experience; very good staff and food
I was there with my daughter and we were looking for a vegetarian entree and the options on the menu didn’t pique our interest immediately. Our hosts at EVOO immediately sensed it and came forth with a solution in consultation with the chef - a mouth watering wholesome option! That says it all. We enjoyed every morsel and all the other items. An experience we are happy to share!
Nice restaurant, local products, good taste.
Great food, and great setting for great conversation with friends.
We had an early (5:30) reservation so that we could make our 7pm movie and we had a terrific meal. Our waitperson was attentive and knowledgable, the food was delicious and the only reason it wasn't a perfect meal is that I'd mentioned on my open table reservation that this was a birthday meal for my husband and I had requested an acknowledgement of that via the dessert we ordered. Although the dessert was very yummy....no birthday candle or special delivery. At that point...we were tight on our timing, so I didn't want to mention it. Again....we did have a nice dining experience and will happily return to EVOO!!
Great food but limited choice for vegetarians. The blue cod I had was delicious
Menu is becoming more limited
Great food, exceptional service, but noisy. Don't forget to take advantage of the discounted parking at a nearby garage.
I noted that we brought a baby and a toddler, so they reserved sofa seats for us and prepared coloring staff and a toy. Those helped us a lot!
EVOO has a few nice seating areas. Decorations are simple yet thoughtful. Large selection of cocktails to choose from and the drinks themselves were great. Food offerings were unique and tempt you to get out of your comfort zone. Overall a pleasant experience. I'd definitely return if looking to eat in Cambridge
Locally sourced food was absolutely delicious! Our server was attentive and engaging. A definite on my next trip to Boston.
EVOO is absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed the special Valentine’s Day menu and were, as always, treated as family by Colleen, Dan and the entire EVOO crew. We will be back soon!
Really love going to EVOO. The food is reliably great, the menu has something everyone, service is attentive and you can actually have a conversation. Went there for Valentine’s Day and had a wonderful meal.
First time here was on the Off The Beaten Path food+innovation tour, and we were so impressed that we came back for the special Valentine's Day seating. Both EVOO and Za (the sibling restaurant) list all the local sources for their ingredients; it's a LEED-certified facility; they have food allergy acommodations; and the interior is spectacular. The food was outstanding and they had amazing cocktails too. Highly recommended!
Overall "OK', but... advertised this obligatory "Valentine's Menu" for days... but could never see it! Also, did not appreciate being "double" checked re: reservation. I made a reservation, and something can always come up, but I made a reservation. As for the food, mostly OK, but the gnocchi thing was small and very un-gnocchi like... And $65 each plus tax and tip... almost $200 9without wine)... sorry, but that's too much. Anyway, I enjoyed my beef...
Food was excellent as were the drinks! Was quiet and we were able to talk without competing with the music. So refreshing.
We enjoyed a great night out at Evoo! The food was really delicious. Expect high-quality food, great service, and good selection. A relaxing, low key atmosphere. A couple of minor issues...but we would still highly recommend (burger was not cooked to order - "medium plus" - and the cod wasn't as flavorful as we expected). Neither of these issues detracted from a great night out for dinner. This is a terrific restaurant and well worth the visit, many times over.
The tenderloin was AMAZING! I have been here only once before despite living just down the street, but I will be sure to be back soon!
We had another wonderful meal at Evoo, thank to both the excellent food and the excellent server, Dan (I hope I am remembering his name correctly). Dan encouraged us to split dishes so that we could try more, yet not order too much (hint: if you want a terrific snack the next day, order the candied/curried nuts to take with you). And he paced the meal perfectly. Another sign of an excellent restaurant: one of the owners stopped by to say hello.
We also appreciate the half-bottles of excellent wine, so it is possible to have a drink before dinner and have wine with the meal, yet not have too much to drink. We had a Grgich Hills chard, which we almost never see as a half-bottle in a restaurant. So, kudos, too, to those who have created the wine list. We are eager to return.
EVOO is always wonderful with great food and service every time we go there. We went for a birthday dinner, and had a great time.
I love a good burger and this one doesn't disappoint. The burger was done perfectly to my liking and toppings were absolutely perfect. The pickle was fresh and the french fries were crispy. Even the ketchup was homemade. I would definitely visit again. Save room for dessert, it was one of the best that I have had in a long time.
We have never had a bad meal at Evoo. In fact I cannot remember any complaints at all in the 8 years we have been going there. Our server Eileen was outstanding.
Menu is limited and was just fair - went on a Sat night and there were lots of empty tables. Desserts were excellent.
Took our friends from New Hampshire and we all had a wonderful time. More people in the Cambridge area should try this place on the weekends. Would be fun with more of a crowd
Got the Weekend Prix Fixe menu which was a fantastic option and very reasonably priced!
Food was fantastic, with the exception of overly salty and straw-thin crispy breadsticks. Great place!
Excellent as always!
A friend and I went there for dinner and opted for the pre-fixe menu with the wine pairing. We were very pleased with the food, drinks and the service. The restaurant wasn't quite full (we were having an early dinner), and the waitress was kind enough to lower the background music so we could speak at regular voices. I would return again.
