This is one of the finest restaurants in the world. The French cuisine is amazing. It is very expensive and worth every penny you paid for it. The duck might’ve been the best Duck That I have eaten
Exceptional food. We went with very well behaved and adventurous kids (age 10 and 12)... they don't do a kids menu. The whole pre theatre dining was wonderful and made for a very special evening. Request a table with a view...
Wonderful food, beautiful views over the city, and terrific service!
This could have so easily been a perfect experience. The food was great, the ambience was great, but the staff seemed disinterested. With a tasting menu we expect some explanation of the dishes, we received little to nothing. With wine tasting I expect a little more than just the vintage.
Chef Joho nails it again. The cod in the tasting menu was in my top 10 meals ever. Always a delight. Excellent and superb everything- view, service, food.
Went there for a surprise proposal. Food blew us out of the water. Would of came to Chicago just for the restraint alone. Used ingredients I don't normally like and they made them irresistibly good. Everything was perfect, the view, the wine, the music, and the food. Literally everything. Me and my fiancee have never been to a restraunt of this caliber and it did more than impress. They even helped to photos of the proposal and gave us a complementary desert for the occasion. Beautiful place and lovely professional people. We will be returning without a doubt. 10/10 no question.
Food was very short of spectacular but it was okay. I will not be back though it is a cool space for a special occasion.
One of the best meals that I've ever had. The sommelier was very helpful in assisting me in finding a great but affordable wine. My magret of mulard duck was delicious.
Amazing, awesome, outrageous, wonderful. Impossible to find just the right words to describe our excellent dining experience at Everest. Located on the 40th floor of the Chicago Stock Exchange building on the south end of the loop gave us a wonderful view of the city as the sun set and the street lights came on.
The team approach to serving guests could not have worked any better. We must have had 5 individuals taking care of us. Jane was the "Team Captain". It was like watching a humming bird go from flower to flower as she managed the care of the 7 tables in her station. Her team members were very supportive with superb timing.
We both enjoyed the Everest Roasted Main Lobster in Alsace Gewürztraminer Butter and Ginger. For the entree we had the Baked Wild Sea Bass and the Dry-Aged New York Steak with Béarnaise. For desert we had the Bartlett Pear and the New Wave Coconut Soufflé. The three "extra" courses were very nice surprises.
The portions were perfectly sized and decadently delicious. Admittedly the cost of the three course meals makes a visit to Everest a once a year (at the most) event.
Chef Jean Joho should be very proud of this 30+ year old establishment. The Lettuce Entertain You organization should be commended for having Everest as part of their conglomerate.
A memorable experience.
Everest is a very special place.
Take your time and enjoy the amazing service and amazing food.
Every item that is cooked here is cooked with attention to detail and with love. The Chef comes out to greet every table and you can tell he is a lucky soul who gets to do what he loves every day. It shows in the food, decor, service and the small details.
Fine dining is a lost art and it’s nice to find this gem that has stood the test of time and created a magical experience.
I could go on about the dishes and how they were prepared but I say you just go and let the magic begin.
Everest is the last of the fine dining experiences remaining in Chicago. The food is creative and delicious; the service and ambiance perfection! Thank you for another exquisite and memorable evening.
Roasted crab fantastic
Steak just ok
Servers stood directly behind us entire night gossiping about personal issues. Large group next to us was very loud. Everyone else was quiet and respectful. Could have been extremely romantic.
A very special restaurant
This was my fifth time. Every time the food and wine were great. It did feel like service had slipped a bit, but I was there at the peak time, so that might explain the sluggish feel. My favorite dish was the roasted lobster appetizer, but it is tough to go wrong. Be sure to take advantage of the huge Alsatian wine list.
We went out for my birthday what we had read on line was it was 100$ a person which was expensive for us coming from a small town in ohio but when we got there it was 145$ a person not including the drinks and the food was not good 3 of us had the duck and it was so under cooked it was not good we wanted to go for the experience but it left a bad impression for high end dinning for us.. the service was great thou they answered all of our questions filled our waters and took plates as we were done. I would say we only ate 30% of the food we actually got and our bill was $334.50 for 2 of us.
Great meal we just had a terrible table. Other tables would have been perfect. We just missed out, not sure why would got singled out.
I highly recommend the tasting menu! It was phenomenal!
Valentine’s Day menu was delicious! Chef Joho is a very nice man and talented chef we will return!!!
Food and service were good. Cocktails left a bit to be desired. Overall I enjoyed it, but we left hungry, and at $200 per person not including drinks, that was a bit disappointing. Next time for a comparable upscale experience I'd much rather go back to somewhere like Spiaggia.
A very disappointing experience at the Everest on Valentine's Day. The tasting menu looked good on paper, but turned out to be pretty mediocre and hugely overpriced. The service was professional but not warm and welcoming , the timing was all wrong and nobody seemed to care how we liked the food or if we needed anything else. Finally, the well advertised view was covered by the blinds! All and all, we were left with somewhat a sour taste.
Everything was superb from start to finish- the service, food, wine list, and ambience were amazing as always!
As usual a magnificent experience. Food (Tasting Menu), wine (customized premium 1/2 bottle pairing selected by Sommelier) and service were all exceptional. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute.
As usual Chef Jean Joho brings his best. He is amazing! The tasting with pairing was a wonderful and fun way to try what you may never put together but works so well. We’ll be back again for another special occasion meal. It’s so good we counted get we’ve been there six times now, all for special occasions.
Outdated interior design. Not a big fan of mirrors everywhere
Food and service - excellent!
Enjoyed the spectacular view!
Always a lovely time with perfect food and service.
This was our anniversary dinner and though we did not luck out with a table at the window line, a big worry for us, where we were seated still had fantastic views. The food was outstanding and the service was truly exceptional. We've never had a higher restaurant tab but the experience was very special, perfect for the occasion.
The evening was great from the greeting at the entrance til the end. We were given a tour of the restaurant. Everyone was professional and friendly.
The food was very tasty and the view was incredible - the service was a bit hit / miss. The sommelier was super on, however our waitress seemed to not ask many questions or see if there was anything else she could grab for us.
We experienced the Tasting Menu with the Wine Pairing. It was absolutely fantastic in every way. The service, dinner, and atmosphere was second to none! Thank you Everest Team.
Everything from service to food to wine was impeccable. Everest is not where you go to be challenged or surprised by the experience. It is, however, where you go for classic French cuisine at its finest and most refined. We couldn't have been happier with everyone with whom we interacted. We will be back.
The food was quite delicious. But the place feels a little stodgy and a little disorganized.
service was very good. Food was good. Very expensive.
Service was phenomenal. Food was under whelming, to say the least.
Flawless service and attention; entire staff impeccable and in cadence with perfection; sommelier extremely knowledgeable and unpretentious in the most professional manner possible.
Service was outstanding . View was unbelievable. Taste testing and wine pairing was remarkable . Honestly, I've dined all over the world and it may be the best wine pairing with my meal I've ever had.
Horrible place to eat. The food was sub par. The service for lack of a better word, sucked. We sat there for 30 minutes before anyone even addressed us. The waiter spilled a desert on my girlfriend's dress and did not even say sorry. The dress needed cleaning and they did not offer nor did they take anything off our bill. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. It is not worth the money or the time. I can't believe that it is "suppose" to be one of the best places in Chicago. Those people who give it a high rating have no taste!
Great dining experience with outstanding service. First, the free valet parking is a plus. Had no problem negotiating the three elevators up to the restaurant. Unlike previous reviewers, we were met by coat check upon exiting the last elevator. Service from the staff was exquisite. Seated near a window with a view (I do believe every table has a view of the skyline). We both ordered two starters, main, and desert. The Everest roasted main lobster starter was our favorite and is to die for. My wife had the steak with bearnaise sauce which was outstanding. I opted for the hare, however, I've had better and felt that the meat was a bit dry. Altogether the meal and service were outstanding. Two 4-course meals, two glasses of wine and coffee cost around $450 including gratuity.
