Really liked this place. Good food. God service. Would definitely go back. Easy parking. Really enjoyed it.
There was a very different vibe from the last two times my bride and I came here. Seemed like new pictures on the walls. The all male servers were replaced with a female greeter, female servers but one male coming around to the tables to make sure everything was on point.
The menu seemed the same. The speed and responsiveness of the staf seemed much better than the last time. the food was as good as usual. I’ll certainly be back. I wonder if the restaurant is under new operational mangement?
One of the best Nepalese restaurants in the whole area! Highly recommended.
One of the best "Indian" restaurants (actually Nepalese) in The whole area, well worth the drive. Tons of easy & free parking-great food. A+
The food was very disappointing. Lacked true Indian flavor.
Ate with 8 friends. Indian food excellent with many vegetarian options. Service was prompt and friendly. Our food was mildly spiced but options for spicier versions. Highly recommend for casual reasonably priced dinner in downtown Petaluma. Lots of parking
The food was actually quite good. Better for takeaway.
Excellent food! Great variety and very well prepared! Thanks! We’ll be back!
Our first visit. Went at 6:30 on a Friday. The parking lot was jammed. And that was the only problem we had. We we greeted by our server, AJ(if I heard him correctly) and sat at a corner table. Very nice.
We ordered a large Taj Mahal beer... good and cold. And the “salsa” to have with the crispy was avocado, cucumber and tomato. AWESOME.
We started with the Artichoke Pakora. My bride liked ‘em. I was expecting whole artichoke hearts dipped in batter, but they were ground or chopped and the artichoke was lost (to me).
My bride had a mild Vegetable Biryani and loved it.
I had the Tibetan Lamb Curry “succulent pieces of fresh, local lamb cooked with potatoes, Fing, and Tibetan spices.” I had it medium and it was a robust back of the throat heat. I really liked what looked liked Chinese glass noodles and scraped the bowl clean. I paired it with white rice with peas. I’m going to switch out the garlic naan for plain net times
And did I mention the Taj Mahal?
Add to that... AJ’s service was knowledgeable and attentive; and the time from order to delivery was very short.
We will be back! I want to try more of the Tibetan dishes. It was a brand new experience for me.
Wonderfully flavorful authentic Indian cuisine. Great options for full meals and budget-friendly specials. Lovely presentations. Staff is friendly and available Enjoy answering questions regarding preparation, spicing and food combinations
Good value and delicious
It must be. A well kept secret as it wasn’t over crowded for valentines. Theee was a steady flow of coming and going but no crowd it was just right and the food ask for Spivey was grrrrreat
Food is great - service varies with server. Our server last night was great.
Pleasant surprise for us trying Everest and experiencing such excellent food. As we are big fans of North Indian cuisine that offers more than just the standard, run-of-the-mill approach to flavor/spice, this place provided an impressive menu and focus on the subtleties of roasted cumin, cardamom and coriander. So nicely done from samosa to kulcha to korma. Highest marks for taste.
My wife and I loved the food, but we will not return due the way that we were treated. When we arrived we told the waiter that we had an Opentable reservation and were using a $25 credit that we had earned. When it was time to pay the bill, we were told by the female owner that they were not accepting gift certificates. After much discussion the male owner then politely told us that he never agreed to accept Opentable credits. This writer walked him through the process and explained that he need to run the card as credit and not as a gift certificate. This worked. However, the female owner refused to give us eye contact and pleasantly said thanks to other patrons as she turned away from us and obviously gave us the cold shoulder.
We received our appetizers at the end of our dinner only after I got up from the table and looked for someone to help me. This sums up the entire evening. We won’t be back.
Been awhile since I ate here and that's my loss. Maybe it's the case of absence making the heart grow fonder, but, for whatever reason the food has never tasted better. I have always enjoyed their cooking but this time it was outstanding. As always their standard vegetable pakoras were excellent and another, Chaat Pakora, that is sauced was outstanding. The Chicken Tandoori was one of the best I have ever had. Even the white meat showed no evidence of being over cooked and/or dryness - tender, moist and perfectly seasoned. The Chicken Tikka Masala also benefitted from perfectly prepared chicken. The "salsa" served with the free papadum is addictive. Still the best Indian Food in the area.
Absolutely the BEST Indian food I've had in a long time. Everything was excellent, mango ice cream was a treat.
This place is tucked into an older strip mall that I had never noticed before. The food while sort of Americanized was still really good. In fact the Indians at the table next to us seemed pleasantly surprised. I was with my mother and as I spent my high school years in Delhi. We were both very familiar with Indian food. Spicy here is very mild in India. So realize that when you order.
Great food irregular service
Despite the service being a little slow and it was cold in there, the food was fantastic, would definitely go again.
We had a delicious dinner here and the service was great even though the restaurant was packed. We'll definitely go back!
Hadn't been here in years, had lunch there last week and it was delicious. The staff is great and very attentive, the ambiance is cute and the Naan is great! I had the chicken tandoori and it was heavenly. Huge portion, I took half home and my family tasted it. They loved it so much, we got takeout from them the next night!
Highly recommend, its in a strip mall, but who cares? Very reasonably priced too which is another 👍🏽 plus!
Everest Indian Restaurant serves good Indian and Nepalese food. They have a good selection of dishes and will accommodate the spice level requested. I would recommend this restaurant mostly for take-out. The restaurant itself does not have much atmosphere, and the service was just okay.
The food is good, so doing take out works great!
Great value.
We had a number of items on the menu (there were 4 of us) and we loved it all. The Chicken Marsala was particularly good but the shrimp chili and chicken tandoori was very good as well. We'll be back.
I'd love to say my experience that night was wonderful, because ive eaten there many times before and it's always been fabulous. In this instance, I had family in town for a wedding so I booked a table for 10 at 7:30pm. Guess what? When we arrived at the restaurant it was CLOSED! It said right on the door " closed Wednesday ". So then, how did I make a reservation on Open Table ? How did I alter the reservation twice with no problems? How is Open Table not aware that this restaurant is closed on Wednesday? Did the folks at Everest not receive my reservation? Because they sure didn't call me to tell me they were closed!! Extremely disappointed doesn't begin to cover it. Ten people standing outside a restaurant that is closed, not good! Not good at all!!
Everything was super. We had several different entrees and appetizers and everything was perfect. The best part of all however was the staff. Our waiter was very smart and very knowledgeable and did an excellent job taking care of our orders.
Every dish was exquisite and the level of spice was tweaked to our taste. The service was impeccable. This is a place that everyone in our party will return to.
The food was delicious and the options were wonderful for vegans or vegetarians. There are plenty of meat options too as the restaurant is not considered vegetarian. Good wait staff and comfortable surroundings. The prices are very affordable as well.
Always the best Nepalese food you can find anywhere, Highly recommended!
From the moment we walked into Everest the staff was extremely attentive. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table. The staff was very inclusive of our children, making small talk with them. The pace of the dinner was great and the courses were all impeccable, you can tell that at Everest they love what they do.
Everest is our most often visited Petaluma restaurant. Unpretentious atmosphere, attentive service, delectable food. It is also a fine place for our grandkids.
We four had a most enjoyable dinner. The food was well prepared and the service was fine. I would return.
Food was amazing! Clean kitchen! Friendly host! Neighborhood gem! Must go if your visiting area.
Outstanding Indian/Tibetan/Nepalese food in an unpretentious environment. We love it, as do our kids and our grandkids.
Always been one of the best in the whole bay area food wise. They have a great outdoor area that they do not use- never could figure that one out, it would be great for lunches.
A search for restaurants that could accept a party of 12 produced Everest. (A little unlikely, as it turns out, since the place is small, but I'm not from the area and didn't know that). When we arrived, the hostess said that they don't take OpenTable reservations, and didn't seem to think that we were her problem. While she clearly couldn't seat us, if she had apologized or seemed at all sympathetic, it might have been a more pleasant disappointment.
The food was the reason we chose this restaurant. We went to see One Hundred Foot Journey and knew we would want Indian food. The restaurant was about half full but appeared to do a big carry-out business. Drink orders were taken (a decent list of wines and not so usual beers) and delivered fairly quickly. I ordered garlic basil naan as an appetizer, and my friend ordered vegetable samosas. Both were tasty when they finally arrived. We waited a very long time for our Chicken Vindaloos while dealing with the uneven wobbly table. (It wouldn't have helped to move--the neighboring table was just as wobbly.) From arrival to when we finished paying our check clocked in at over two hours. That's just too long for me.
Longtime friends said they were very impressed with Everest and said "it is one of the best Nepalese restaurants in the Bay Area", and that I was right by saying so and recommending it to them. Try it you will like it!
This was a nice break from the typical Northern India fare. Service was warm and the food delicious.
