Eveleigh Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I went to Eveleigh to celebrate our fourth anniversary as a couple, just over six months into our marriage. We were looking for a romantic setting, delicious food, and a chance to spend time together over great drinks and great conversation. Eveleigh delivered on all fronts -- the service was friendly and attentive, our food was thoughtfully and deliciously prepared, and we enjoyed the wide selection of wines and specialty cocktails while soaking in the decor. We had a lovely evening in a Hollywood gem, and we will gladly go back for our next special occasion.
Maybe it was an off-night.
The restaurant is really nice and pretty on the inside. The food was really bad. In our group we got a variety of dishes from steak to salad. Other than french fries, everything was either incredibly greasy or flavorless. It was a bummer for fries to be the best thing of all dishes.
The place is too expensive for the food to have been as tasteless as it was.
It was a Saturday night and there were 6 of us. But the service was non-existent.
Overall, everything from service to food was bland and I wouldn't go back. No reason to.
Service was incredibly slow and it messed up our plans for the evening. The food is overpriced for what it is and you get very little amount for the price. This is the third time I visited but also the last time. I just can't spend $200 on an expensive bottle of wine and mostly starters that come with very little.
We've been here a bunch and usually enjoyed it, but the menu wasn't that big or creative this last time. Some good stuff but not really exciting compared all that LA restaurants have to offer. Really nice wait staff though and the baked apple crumble dessert is amazing.
My husband & I last ate here 2yrs ago on our last visit to LA. I wrote a review and commented about the nasty host with a BIG attitude. Being from NY, I was unphased but thought to mention for people with thin skin or short tempers. I rated it 5 stars then as I am now. This time around we were pleasantly greeted by a lovely hostess who was super sweet. We were meeting a friend and the table was not ready so we had a round of drinks at the bar. The bartender was not only HOT, but quite impressive with his bartending skills (& I used to be a NYC bartender back in the day). The hostess was gracious & apologetic that the table we were waiting for was slow to leave, but we didn't mind the handing at the cool bar area. We were seated in the back area which is where we sat a couple years back & it was a cool, large, hip room. We were greeted right away by a lovely, personable waitress who was fab during the entire meal. Our drinks were amazing as were our meals. The apps & dinners came out PERFECTLY!
We only go to LA every 2-3yrs and I will definitely make this our go to restaurant. It is a MUST!!!
We went for NYD brunch and had nice cocktails as well as delicious food. The eggs were great and the potatoes are splendid. The ricotta pancakes are a little on the dry side with the berry compote that comes with it. Don't like having to ask for syrup when pancakes are served... should be standard. But overall we like Eveleigh and will return.
The food as always is great! Our waiter made some great recommendations and was attentive even though we dined here in NyE and it was extremely busy.
However, we weren’t very happy w how we were treated by the hostesses. We made a reservation 2 weeks in advance and when we arrived our only seating “options” were a communal table right in front of restaurant door or outside (in the cold) sharing a non-communal table w strangers. There were other tables open but we were told others had “priority”. We had no issues waiting for a better table but it wasn’t until we pressed to be moved that were given a better table.
Eveleigh checked all of the right boxes. We arrived about 15 minutes late due to a prior appointment running late and the staff at Eveleigh were not only accommodating, but understanding and helpful. Our server was very friendly and, of course, the food was excellent.
The lack of service was an embarrassment. We were not once asked if we wanted another drink, how the food was or if we wanted anything else. As a restaurant and bar owner in Scandinavia I would have fired all the waiters and the "host" for the lack of attention to anything around them. Impressive.
Overall amazing restaurant and experience. We did arrive 8 minutes late for our reservation and the brunette hostess was NOT nice and quite rude. She even marked us as a no show just to be a brat. Reason for the 4 rating. On the other hand, the blonde hostess was such a pleasure to work with and seated us in the outside patio. Our waiter was terrific and so was the food.
I’ve been to this place a few times now. The vibe is great, the service is medium and the food is just not my taste. It’s expensive and just always not as good as you want it to be given the ambiance of the restaurant. Go have a drink at the bar, if you want dinner, you can do better. You deserve better, cause you’re great.
Truffle oil fries are fantastic. Dungeoness crab pasta was dry and could have used more oil or butter. Friend had the hangar steak which was unremarkable. The staff seemed over tasked and stressed. Unfriendly place that I won’t go back to. Loud and uncomfortable seats as well.
I hate planning a birthday celebration but took a chance on Eveleigh. What a rousing success! My annoying friends made me last minute move up my reservation time but the restaurant was accommodating. When we arrived, it was like we were arriving into Eden. The vibe was so perfect, we barely noticed the food but when we did it was excellent.
SIX OF US WENT FOR GET TOGETHER. TERRIBLE WINE LIST, ALL THE WINE ON THE LIST WAS OVER $100 EXCEPT ONE WINE. DURING THE COURSE OF THE MEAL WHEN WE ORDER SECOND BOTTLE OF WINE AT $135 THE WAITER SUGGESTED A BETTER WINE AT $230. WE DECLINED. WAITER HUSTLED TO GENERATE MORE SALES. WHEN BILL ARRIVE, FOOD COST $400, PRE- CHARGED TIP OF $99, 20%, AND SERVICE CHARGE OF $99. AFTER ADDING SALES TAX, $400 MEAL BALLOONED TO $641. VERY DECEPTIVE WAT TO MANAGE A RESTAURANT.
