Eveleigh Ratings and Reviews
I’ve been to this place a few times now. The vibe is great, the service is medium and the food is just not my taste. It’s expensive and just always not as good as you want it to be given the ambiance of the restaurant. Go have a drink at the bar, if you want dinner, you can do better. You deserve better, cause you’re great.
Truffle oil fries are fantastic. Dungeoness crab pasta was dry and could have used more oil or butter. Friend had the hangar steak which was unremarkable. The staff seemed over tasked and stressed. Unfriendly place that I won’t go back to. Loud and uncomfortable seats as well.
I hate planning a birthday celebration but took a chance on Eveleigh. What a rousing success! My annoying friends made me last minute move up my reservation time but the restaurant was accommodating. When we arrived, it was like we were arriving into Eden. The vibe was so perfect, we barely noticed the food but when we did it was excellent.
SIX OF US WENT FOR GET TOGETHER. TERRIBLE WINE LIST, ALL THE WINE ON THE LIST WAS OVER $100 EXCEPT ONE WINE. DURING THE COURSE OF THE MEAL WHEN WE ORDER SECOND BOTTLE OF WINE AT $135 THE WAITER SUGGESTED A BETTER WINE AT $230. WE DECLINED. WAITER HUSTLED TO GENERATE MORE SALES. WHEN BILL ARRIVE, FOOD COST $400, PRE- CHARGED TIP OF $99, 20%, AND SERVICE CHARGE OF $99. AFTER ADDING SALES TAX, $400 MEAL BALLOONED TO $641. VERY DECEPTIVE WAT TO MANAGE A RESTAURANT.
I’ve always been a fan but I was particularly impressed and grateful for the staff’s graciousness to my dog at a Friday night dinner. In addition to the ample main dining room, there are two great patios; the one in the front doesn’t have the gorgeous jetliner views but it’s a rustic, beautiful home-style space with generously spaced tables. It was perfect for our party of four + my six-month old puppy who still doesn’t like to be left home alone. The service was awesome and the food was fantastic. We especially enjoyed the whole Branzino and the Sunday Sauce ragout and ribbon pasta. Love, love, love!
Food was fantastic, and our server was great for the first drink and taking our order but she disappeared after that, we had to hunt someone down to refill our drinks, and to pay our bill. Our plates were not cleared, and we weren't checked on during the meal at all. I brought a friend for the first time because I'd heard this is a hot spot, and I'd come back for the food, but I'm embarrassed about the poor service.
I had heard good things about Eveleigh but never made it up to Sunset to try it. As a 'half-way' place to meet a friend from the Valley, it was perfect. Delicious food, good drinks and lovely service. SERVICE. So nice to relax and enjoy catching up and not get annoyed at the timing or lack of attention. Eveleigh is delightful.
Food was excellent! The Farro salad and halibut were amazing. Downside: The wines were horrible. Everything that our table drank was really bad. For $17 glass, I better drink something good. Come on...your food is really good but your wine buyer should be replaced. They clearly are either buying cheap wines or they have zero knowledge. Work on your list and I'll come back.
I made a 1:45 reservation for 2 people. When we got there right at our reservation time they said it would just be a few minutes while they reset some tables, the restaurant had about 8 open tables and 4 tables that were sat.... so the restaurant was not even half full inside. We happily sat at the bar in the meantime. At 2pm (15 minutes after our reservation time) I asked the hostess when she thought our table would be set- we had a tour scheduled for 3:30 and needed to leave no later than 3. She said it would just be a few more minutes.... another 15 minutes I check back in with a different host that was there. I said our reservation was over 30 minutes ago and asked why they wouldn't seat us when there were multiple open tables. Instead of being apologetic, he was SO rude and said "you're going to have to wait" and walked away. We were finally sat at 2:30 a whole 45 minutes after our reservation in a restaurant that wasn't even 50% full. They sat us at a table that had been empty and set from the time we got there. After 10 minutes a waiter still had not come over. We asked the bus boy if he could please get our waitress as we were on a time crunch now. The waitress came over and she was friendly. We asked if it was possible to have our food rushed as we had to leave in 20 minutes, hoping the kitchen could be accommodating given the circumstances. She said sure, but her promises fell short. Our food didn't come out until 3:15. By this point I had called the tour company and cancelled because there was no way we would make it. We had planned our day around going on this tour not going to have brunch, so it completely ruined the fun day we had planned. The food was delicious but the experience and overall stress made it completely unenjoyable. I have eaten here multiple times but after this horrible experience, I will never, ever go back.
Early dinner on a Thursday night, the restaurant was mostly empty. Friendly and helpful team, from valet to hostess to busboy to waiter. Sat outside, very pleasant.
Took waiters food suggestions, everything good but nothing memorable.
$125 for two, including tip, but no alcohol or desert.
No reason to return.
Super cute outdoor patio that has the feel of an enchanted garden. Don't come if you're in a hurry; the service is slow. However if you want to have a leisurely meal with amazing cocktails, this is a great choice. The food varies from healthy salads, to seafood to steak. The truffle fries were delish! Be sure to try dessert as well.
Food and service amazing. Walked from Mondrian. A bit of a wait even though we had a reservation, but the hostess was very attentive and kept us informed of the status. Great people watching and outdoor view in the meantime. Try the ricotta pancakes, avocado toast, side of bacon, and something else amazing with an egg on top. My new favorite cocktail: Anejo Honey. Ladies, be sure you securely lock the restroom door. Glad I trained myself to keep my head down whenever entering.
I love the decor here. It's so cute and perfect for a night out with friends or a date. My only complaint was that when the host called to confirm, she informed me that there was a time limit on our reservation... when I arrived, I checked in and told her that my friend would be a little late. (A little turned into 30min!) and the host was pretty rude about it. Even though I was there and checked in... she said we needed to be out of the table in an hour. When I mentioned to our server (who was great) that we would be happy to move to the bar if need be, he said that he had not heard that our table was needed...and to take our time. So I'm not sure why she had placed such importance on the time...
Was good overall. Originally we were sat out front next to Sunset which was noisy. My friend was not happy so they moved us inside. Our initial waiter had too much attitude so we were happy to find our new waitress (Taylor) was awesome!!!
There were a few little issues with the menu but the food was reasonable. Apparently the eftpos machine broke down which delayed us leaving. Not an issue for me, but for two friends who were flying out to DC early in the morning, it was. Cute ambience though! Would probably give it another try...
Been back a number of times - the food is always lovely, and the staff have always been very nice. On the daytime side, don't miss the avocado toast, baked eggs and breads (a Geordie pal loved the potato rosti in the Big Breakfast). Anything they have on the dinner menu has always been thoughtful and artfully prepared. Highly recommended.
Went for brunch, ordered steak and eggs. The meat tasted fishy (literally). The server was accomodating, and did not charge us for the suspect meat. However, throughout the entire meal, service was excrutiatingly slow, even though the restaurant was not full.
Excellent- visiting my daughter from out of town and came here based on reviews. The lamb meatballs were great. If possible, sit in the back open air room. Beautiful. The music was just enough to provide ambiance and low enough to carry on a normal conversation. Lovely evening.
We were 3 couples at a picnic type table so inclusive conversation was difficult. We rarely saw our waitress as she had too many tables. We ordered the Bronzino IF the could filet it...they served it at the table and had no idea how to filet. Only mashed it up full of bones. Inedible. They did take it off the bill.
But Two of us had no dinner .
The food was generally good. The service was bad. Start with, we were hurried on all fronts. The appetizers all came out almost immediately. Multiple times, there were attempts to take plates before we were finished. For the main, all food came except one meal. Server forgot to put in order. Said would take off bill and get the order out. Food finally came after all others were finished and the steak was raw and undercooked. Virtually no apology or attempt to correct the issue except took the meal off the bill.
Food was delicious. We had an early reservation but as people trickled in the service got horribly slow, just general lack of awareness of the server as we watched her greet and take orders of multiple tables that sat after us but were being served before us. Overall we loved it and will be back, we'll be hoping for more attentive service!
Eveleigh makes me wish I lived in LA. The food was delicious and inventive without trying too hard. The portions are quite large. Our server was very attentive and gave us time to figure out what we wanted to order; it was quite difficult to choose.
I luckily travel to LA for work quite often so I will be back!
