   Evangeline never disappoints with it's charming small town, wine country ambience and inviting terrace. Day or evening, the outdoor dining is the part of the Napa Valley experience, all year round. Last evening, I arrived with two friends to be seated a cozy table in the outdoor lighted tent, under the heaters. We had drinks in just moments thanks to our server Bernardo's quick attention. We began with a few starters, a fresh beet and burrata salad and the prawn cocktail, both which were generously portioned to share among three. The lobster risotto for the main was a rich wonderful portion with enough to take home. My friend could not quite decide between the cajun gumbo or the chicken and was thoughtfully offered a small taste of the gumbo to help make her choice! It was the pleasant and readily available service that made for a relaxed and memorable time among friends. We'll be back and hope to see Bernardo again!

   Loved this little gem. It’s Louisiana name does not disappoint. I had a wonderful lamb shank with cheese grits. Hubby had the shrimp étouffer. Both were just delicious and good sized portions. Highly recommend.

   my husband enjoyed the gumbo, eating all but some of the rice. I had the lamb shank with cheese grits and roasted vegetables. This avowed carnivore ate every bite of the veggies, and only some of the grits and lamb. It was all delicious, just more than I could eat. If we lived here, I'd have taken the leftovers home for lunch the next day. The roasted vegetables included cherry tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower and brussel sprout, all delightfully flavored with a garlicky sauce. We would definitely go back if visiting Napa again.

    Food was excellent. We had the lamb shank, lobster risotto and Brussel sprouts. Everything was superb. We sat outdoors and it was perfectly comfortable in mid October.

    Great staff experience. The entire team in staff was welcoming, accommodating, friendly, and attentive. Food was quickly prepared and wonderful quality. We ordered the biscuit and gravy, my husband got the shrimp and grits, we shared two dozen oysters. Simple quality, comfort food prepared with care. The bloody Mary’s had a sweet and spicy take- delicious. We already can’t wait to return.

    First time here as we rarely stay in Calistoga and enjoyed our meal here. We reserved a table outdoors which wasn't ready when we arrived and the hostess was great about apprising us when a table would be available and it's status during the 5-8 mins we waited inside. We split a shrimp appetizer and enjoyed our halibut and chicken entrees. Had a few wines by the glass which had VERY generous pours.

    My wife and I had a delicious dinner at Evangeline. The patio was very romantic with lovely ambience. Good drinks, tasty food, excellent service and the owner chatted with us. We would definitely eat there again and we highly recommend it.

    Starter of CA Peaches were hard as apples and should've been grilled/roasted a bit. Pork shoulder was terribly salty and missing the piquillo and padron peppers from the description. Service had been good till then, but disappeared for 20mins during main course. Explained it was just the salty pork and some beans, no peppers, just brown color throughout. He said the chef told him the peppers were diced up? It made no sense. No suggestion made to improve the dining experience. Sad, as the patio is really cute and we were looking forward to it. We won't be back.

    Food was great. The odd thing was that the printed paper menu was not up to date and we were supposed to scan the code to get the actual menu. So, then why give us a paper menu? Strange. Also, the waiter was not conversant with the wine selections.

    We enjoyed a nice brunch at Evangeline while in wine country for a wedding. We at on the patio, which was darling. It had great European cafe vibes. Best meal of the morning was the shrimp and grits. The waffle with marsacpone and fruit was also good. Avocado toast was a little under seasoned and pricey for what it was. Service was attentive and friendly, though food was a little slow to come out. No problem if you aren’t in a hurry. Overall it was a nice brunch in a cute spot.

    Kind people, good service, and a beautiful courtyard. The food was just mostly meh relative to the pricing and the expectations for Napa. The lamb shank entree, oyster appetizer, and hibiscus passion cocktail were the standouts. Those were great. The sazerac was limp, the heirloom tomato appetizer looked sad, the fried pickles were soft, the shrimp etoufee lacked real creole flavor, the apple tart was soggy, and the panna cotta was just kind of there. We dined at Lovina next and were really impressed by that placed. We spent nearly $300 for two people at Evangeline and walked away wondering what just happened. If you’re looking for a finer dining experience this ain’t it. If you’re rich and the bill doesn’t matter and you like lamb shank have at it.

    Not what it’s hyped to be. Food was cold, had to sent it back, lobster risotto was VERY bland. Service didn’t care to engage w us at all, saw the food runners more than sever. Overall wouldn’t recommend. Super disappointed- never been and heard it was amazing but it was far from.

    We used to love coming for brunch. Lately is seems very poorly managed. The food was the biggest disappointment yesterday. What was delivered didn’t match what was on the menu…so we didn’t get what we thought we’d be getting. Not worth the price for sure.

    The hostess showed us to a covered patio which was a plus. Waiter was good at explaining the items on the menu. The presentation of the fig salad with blini was beautiful ! There were good cocktail choices. Can’t say enough good things. Will surely recommend to friends and family who travel to Calistoga.

    My wife and I went there are part of our weekend getaway and enjoyed it very much. The only two nits was that they forgot part of our order, but also didn't charge us for it (we didn't need to ask them to remove and we over ordered anyway) and the deserts were just OK. Our heirloom tomato salad was delightful and my wife really enjoyed her shrimp étouffée.

    It was very hot outside and they had no air conditioning inside the restaurant. I felt so sorry for the cooks and servers. We were seated in the outside seating and it was nice with plenty of shade.
