We sat in the back patio section and the atmosphere is beautiful. The food was excellent. The only issue we had was they forgot to bring out one of our dishes. We were full so decided not to wait for it and they took it off our bill.
I expected much and was quite disappointed. Food was just ok. I loved the gnocchi, rest was a bit bland with the fig and pig pizza being just awful I thought.
We waited a very long time between the dishes and were seated on a tiny table just couple of feet from the next table and to the point that it was uncomfortable because it was like we were all sitting together which wouldn’t be such a bad thing if we were not trying to have a dinner to celebrate our anniversary and that other table was just not that loud. Oh, and if the waitress didn’t have to stand in between that tiny in between space to get their orders and bring them food. I mean she was practically sitting on our table but I suppose it was not her fault. For this type of food I know better places in SLC and we won’t be going back.
The food and service were amazing! We do not like to sit in the bench style seating while on a date - that’s the only reason it was 4 stars rather than 5. Brussels sprouts...whoa! Love em!
Dinner at Eva followed by David Sedaris at The Eccles! We had a great dining experience. Excellent food and service with Michael. When we were seated, he asked if we were trying to make the show. And his food recommendations were great. I’ll come back.
Eva never disappoints. Friend said it was the best food he's ever had in his life. Can't wait to return!
A wonderful place to have a lively meal with food that is truly special and worth every bite. Came here with a business partner and it was the PERFECT place for great food and even better atmosphere. The Asparagus was prestine, but the fried cauliflower with a spicy cury was the star of the show. There are so many options to choose from, you can't go wrong.
Had a very good meal before seeing a show at Eccles. It was crowded! Asparagus dish was, once again, the best! I enjoyed the steak, but my dining companion found it too stringy. The broccoli dish was also good. I had sangria, which was good, and a glass of wine. A little pricier than I remembered, but good!
Each of our dishes was well seasons beautiful presentation and very tasty. It is a cozy atmosphere but the tables were a little too close which made it difficult to have a conversation
We had dinner here this week. We tried so many different dishes, some of our favorites were the arugula pizza, the fig and pig pizza, and the gnocchi. Everything we tried we liked except the cheese and meat board. It was a bit sparse and the cheeses were minimal and not very good. Desserts were tasty, we tried both the chocolate cake and the corn cake. Portion sizes were very good for tapas. Overall we enjoyed our meal very much.
Great meal, very nice server. Salad and broccoli a little too tart. Please get paper straws. I understand you don’t want plastic straws, but there are alternatives.
Inattentive service on a Monday night when the restaurant was less than half full. The cheese and meat board is not up to peer standards, essentially garlic crackers and smiths level cheese of the tiniest serving possible. The capicola was of poor quality. The platter was served with more pickles than any other item.
The pizza was fine.
Highly recommend this quaint little restaurant. The food was incredible, unique, and delicious. Love that the plates are shareable for 2 and reasonably priced based on high-end ingredients.
My only issue was the tight seating which, while can contribute to a quaint atmosphere, so tight made it a little difficult to feel any privacy. However, that would certainly not be enough to sway me from returning or recommending to others!!
The server was awesome - handled getting a surprise dessert out for my daughter and her friends when they were distracted and got us out the door in time for our show. Always great food.
We usually enjoy Eva, but our waiter didn't know anything about the specials ("I didnt really get a chance to try them") didn't have any suggestions for dishes ("you guys pretty much got the good ones"). Also I am alwsys freezing in that restaurant. Tonight the beets, fried chicken and shaved broccoli were good. Short ribs were meh.
Nice little spot downtown, but as you’re probably aware, parking is a challenge. The food is delicious and they even had a white wine from Vienna, Austria! I highly recommend this place!
Visiting from NY, my Son at UofU wanted us to take him here. We loved it. Great food, great service, cool atmosphere.
I try to sample something new every time I eat at Evas. It is always a good choice! Sunday evening at 5:30 we were the first ones here, but the place was packed within 20 minutes. I had the crispy polenta with mushrooms and shrimp and hominy. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, while the polenta and mushrooms were absolutely divine! My friends each had a pizza, fig and pig and mushroom, and shared a plate of roasted vegetables. Of course, we passed the plates around and all thought the meal was outstanding. Great food, good stories about a recent trip to London, with simple but wonderful ambience.
Tasty small plates. Fun location and a great experience
Always great service at Eva's. Interesting small plates for meat eaters and vegetarians and creative cocktails, the small wine selection is always good value.
Food was fabulous. $85 for two of us!
Nice little place to go for pre theater dining. Everything is small plates. Hit or miss with the offerings... trout and gnocchi were great, brussel sprouts good, calamari not good --super rubbery and seasoning was off. Overall pretty good place to dine.
Great spot for a tasty dinner and great craft cocktail before the theater.
We went to Eva's before going to a musical at Eccles, It was an easy walk to the theater, took less then 10 minutes. We parked a block away from Eva's in a secured undercover lot for $5.00 and the security guard was still there when we came back after the show which was great. We sat on the back patio. If I had one complaint it was too loud inside but very lovely on the patio. Serves were great. We shared small plates . The spinach and cheese gnocchi was my favorite. Great place to have a Glass of wine and relax.
The food was excellent, especially the Cauliflower Romesco. Wine recommendation was spot on. Met there with friends pre-theatre. A bit noisy but wonderful overall.
food was good, ordered red wine that came very chilled, do not ever chill my red wine!!!
The food was delicious. We ordered the Brussels sprouts, charred vegetables, spinach potato gnocchi, and pork cabbage roll. Everything tasted great except for the charred vegetables which were unexpectedly spicy and a bit too oily for us. We got the solstice chocolate pots de créme for dessert and I'm not exaggerating when I say it's one of the best things I've ever eaten. Very enjoyable. I will be back.
Fantastic menu of small plates, nice cocktails and a nice uptown vibe to the place. Definitely a SLC gem.
We enjoyed the cocktail special and the warmed olives (haven't seen them elsewhere). Everything we ordered was delicious and the service was prompt and not intrusive. Great place to start the night or to visit after a show.
We had an early dinner at Eva’s. Party of 4. We ordered at least 6 small plates. Every one of them was delicious. The fried chicken and the meatball were standouts. As was the Italian chopped salad. The chocolate pot was delectable. Seating was a little tight. Noise level moderate. Food and service were great. We will definitely be back.
We were celebrating my niece's birthday. Eva was her choice and we weren't disappointed. The food was interesting and really delicious. We enjoyed sharing the tapas. We loved all of the dishes except the calamari which was somewhat bland. Otherwise, we had a really wonderful time. Our waitress was very attentive and charming. We stayed much longer just enjoying each other's company and conversation. We will be back!
We Love Eva! Food and craft cocktails are always delicious!
Very good food! I recommend the chopped broccoli! You do need 2-3 plates per person. I will be back
Eva was amazing! We loved the outside patio and food was delicious! We will definitely be back!
Excellent meal. My wife and I share three small plates - grilled asparagus, fried chicken and pork belly. Each dish was beautifully arranged and the seasonings were terrific. The chef does an excellent job of creating new and interesting flavors for traditional dishes. One of our best meals ever in Salt Lake City.
Not a one star but there definitily is much better. Food was decent, service was below average.
Great Food and Flavor! Love this place
The Pig and Fig Pizza was unique, tasty and memorable, as were the Spare Robs.
Service was great and the food was yummy and fun. I really like this place and will become a regular
We shared three entres, Asparagus, stuffed cabbage, and a special pirkbellyandvsweet melons. Very little leftover and not over stuffed.
Needed an evening together with friends and wanted to try somewhere new. Would dine again. Food was challenging enough, service was good, wine list was fairly priced. Good stuff.
