This is my favorite place to eat! Good food and drinks. Fantastic setting and I love the family style shared plates!
The food was all delicious and a great value. A bit noisy but we were very near the music speakers.

Eva is one of my favorite places to go. Everything on the menu is amazing, the service is always great and the atmosphere is wonderful.
If you can get beyond the noise - don't they believe in noise-reduction tiles? - the place is really, really good. Go for the trout!
This was a pre-Shania Twain concert dinner. Our group was primarily vegetarian and we had plenty of options ordering tapas-style. The Brussel sprouts; the carrots and the pizza were terrific. Delicious and easy to share. We ordered the steak and potatoes for the carnivores. The meat was nicely seasoned and tender and the potatoes absorber a lot of the flavoring. Dessert was the chocolate cake and the upside down corn cake. Both bakes to perfection and easily devoured. The Paloma cocktail with the Reposado tequila is a perfect summer drink. We will be back for more.
Restaurant EVA offers great selection of dishes - tapas style, wines and other alcoholic beverages. The service is quick, staff very friendly, food is delicious, definitely would go back.
Our eldest child's name is Eva so made a reservation on our last night in Salt Lake. Found a sweet white wine that we enjoyed. Ordered five small plates to share and 2 kids each ordered the namesake steak.
One of the main reasons I picked Eva for my daughter was the hundreds of positive reviews about the food. Here's what I wish the reviews had said:
This is upscale bar food. Expensive appetizers that taste delicious but won't fill you up. I knew I was going to leave hungry when the waiter said they didn't want to "overwhelm us with food" when describing the small plate concept.
Now, some of the food was absolutely delicious, but it wasn't every plate. For me, it was the ribs that might bring me back. But the Brussels Sprouts that everyone raved about could have been a plate of chopped cabbage for all I knew.
Another interesting note that I didn't see in other reviews was that they didn't bring your food out all at once, it was plate by plate. This made for an interesting eating experience and was probably the only way they could manage a large order in such a small table, even with kid sized plates.
In short, this is a unique place with flavorful food and tight quarters. I'm sure it would be better if you were just going to hang out, have a drink or two, and wanted to enjoy a little food on the side.
Food was great! The dishes leaned toward the spicy side. The Shrimp & Hominy was so delicious. Noise level was high. Temperature level inside was very warm. The Sangria cocktail was too spicy for me. The G&T cocktail was so good! The Diavola Pizza was really good & the crust had a great crispy texture.
The menu was stuck in the depth of winter, even though it was the middle of a hot July. Few light, fresh options. Instead, heavy dishes such as roasted harissa carrots with goat cheese or brussel sprouts. Most of the vegetable and flatbread options were overdressed, over-charred, and over-porked.
The space is intimate and casual. But the menu really needs to change with the seasons.
Eva's was recommended by our family for fun small plate dining. We enjoyed everything that we ordered and would love to return
It might be the best dinner out we’ve ever had! We shared 6 plates and all of them were beyond delicious. If we lived there we would be regulars.
The food exceeded expectations! I enjoyed each of the small plates. Do your table a favor and order the cornmeal cake. It was one of the best desserts I have ever eaten.

This was an excellent find. The food was exceptional and at a very good value. The small plates were brought two at a time and the flavors were extraordinary. Highly recommend.
We had a family of 7 get together. We ordered almost the entire menu and EVERYTHING was excellent. This place has easily the best tapas and some of the best food in Utah.
High quality food...especially enjoyed the steak brushetta. Recommend sitting on the patio.
Got in early and beat the rush on a Friday evening. Had the calamari, kale salad, roasted vegetables and fig pizza. Pizza and vegetables were great. Salad was just average and calamari pretty good. Had the corn cake dessert and it was outstanding. Ambiance was a little dark and place was pretty casual. I enjoyed the tapas style of eating.
My husband and I went on a double date to Eva's in the middle of the week and we enjoyed the food, the drinks and the atmosphere. The noise level is appropriate for good conversation and the food was delicious. We tried the sauteed brussels sprouts, the grilled asparagus, the cheese and meat board, the spinach and potato gnocchi and the togarashi fried chicken. Will go back again and again.
Eva's exceeded my expectations for the planning, execution, and obviously food for my special event that I had there. They were so helpful and accommodating. The food knocked it out of the park which is par for the course for Eva's. I highly recommend!
I decided to try Eva for a birthday dinner and the food was very good, especially for Utah. Service was friendly and prompt. Cool, hip downtown spot. The sort of places Salt Lake City needs more of. I wish they'd offered us a seat on the patio (which was basically empty). Food quality is very good, but not outstanding. Overall, I'd give it a 4.2.
All the food was amazing especially loved the beef spare ribs and beetroots.

Eva is one of my favorite restaurants in Salt Lake City. Great atmosphere, particularly the stealth outdoor dining. Perfect spot for sharing the many creative and delicious small plate options. I am already dreaming of the ones I didn't order and cannot wait to return to try. Terrific night out.
A little dark and gloomy inside. Food is good and different. We enjoyed it.
We loved our first visit to Eva. Our server knew the menu perfectly and gave great advice. She was kind and attentive. We love the tapas menu style, and ordered 5 dishes and a dessert which was frankly two plates too much, but the food was so delicious, beautiful and well prepared that we didn’t care. We will be back soon. Great for conversation and a meal that’s nicer than most, but not too formal or expensive.
It was not quite as quiet as I would have hoped, but the atmosphere was pleasant.
The food, while unfamiliar, was very good. Often I don't like things that are unfamiliar, but despite it's newness, I really enjoyed the food.
The service was good, but I felt that our servers could have been a little more interested in our hopes and intentions. They did make an effort to explain how tapas plates work, which was very appreciated-- we had never done that before.
I would be more than willing to go back.
Everyone enjoyed everything! It was original, tasty and good to share. Our only iffy dish was the trout...too much breading.
This place is very charming and I understand the appeal, but we found the experience to be generally underwhelming. Dishes lacked depth and weren't particularly memorable. Service was also very slow; sat for over two hours for 5 plates, often with empty wine glasses. Wouldn't go out of our way to return.
The pizza (highly recommended by the server) came out to burnt to eat. Other then that, good food.
I found this place looking for dinner before a Eccles Center performance. They were attentive to helping us ensure we stayed on schedule while still serving delicious food. The atmosphere is informal and décor on the inside "patio" is very cool.
This was my second time at this restaurant, and it was less enjoyable than the first. My gin and tonic was flat, and half of the dishes we ordered (calamari, shrimp & hominy) were not very good. The harissa carrots were still pretty tasty, though not as good as my first visit. Also, we asked if they had outdoor seating, and the hostess said "yes" and took us to their back area, which is not outside, but rather in a roofed-over narrow alley (or something -- it's an odd space). I will probably give it another chance, given the dearth of good restaurants in SLC, but I was disappointed.
WE would never come back because of the noise level of the music.
We asked 3 times to have it turned down and it seemed to us as if they
turned it up.
Not pleasant to not be able to hear the conversation.
Music was not background music: it was soloists screaming.
We will not be back.
While Eva was not our first choice (only because we didn’t know how amazing the food was) I am so happy we stumbled on it after our other place fell through! The service was amazing, we got to try some delicious plates ranging from asparagus to trout to pizza, and it wasnt so filling we couldn’t eat dessert. The ambiance was also classy but casual and a little chic thrown in for good measure. Lots of food options to choose from as well. You have to get the warm chocolate cake with the ice cream!!! It was all amazing, and definitely an undiscovered gem in Salt Lake City!
An excellent Tapas location. Small operation but very friendly and excellent food. Recommend the Short Ribs and the Duck Confit.
The menu was eclectic, it really exercised my taste buds. I had the duck which was very well prepared. I would order it again in a heartbeat. We also had the meat and cheese plater for an appetizer. Any opportunity to have the some of the more exotic cheeses, somthing that as a rule isn’t found in the in my fridge, is wonderful. My wife had the steak and was very happy. The potions were reasonable.
