Owner Tom Douglas is a Seattle icon. Douglas is an American chef, restaurateur, author, and radio talk show host. Two-time James Beard Award winner and Iron Chef winner, Douglas is known for his love of quality local and sustainable ingredients, as well as serving deliciousness with graciousness. Food service from the kitchen was spotty. Food arrived on the tepid warm side. Not really hot. Evidently not the server's fault, but the kitchen. She graciously offered us free dessert. Which we took just one to split. Also the serving size, scallops, were just 3. That was rather disappointing. Maybe better to raise the price than skimp. 3 rather small scallops for a meal around $30 is low value to me.

Despite 20% service charge (which often leads to complacency) Andrea was a wonderful hostess. We had a great evening and great food. Highly recommended

Great food! The salmon was cooked perfectly and coconut pie was delicious. They no longer allow tipping as a 20% service charge is already included in the bill, which the hostess told us about as we were being seated. Good service, although I was not greeted when I arrived even though there were multiple people at the hostess counter.

Actually attended to check out the place during Seattle Restaurant Week. Couple of us ordered off those menu choices and simply loved the Chowder, Spinach Salad and Salmon, but of course the Coconut Cream pie was the best! Two others ordered the burger off main menu and were both very pleased as well - WOW the amount and taste of the french fries!!! Would definitely go back again and highly recommend the place!

We ate at Etta's during Restaurant Week. The choices on the menu were appealing and the price was certainly right. The salmon was overcooked. Maybe some people like it that way but as a NW native it was overdone. Our waitress could have been more attentive. We had to remind her to bring the tea that we had ordered. Then we received green tea when we had asked for black tea.

The server was outstanding and very informative and knowledgeable. My fish was really good... my husbands fish stew could’ve used bread to soak up the remaining sauce. A little pricey but comparable. The waitress made the night worth it!!!

Excellent dinner, they seated us quickly food came out in a timely fashion (but not rushed). Our waitress was excellent with our 16 month old - got her food out quickly and packed up our food when we needed to leave. Overall great experience.

Usually I have a wonderful experience with food at Etta's this is one of my favorite special locations with my husband. My co-workers and I went for SRW and I was disappointed. The salmon was very overcooked and the seasoning was completely different than the usual salmon. The wait staff was really attentive and good though.

We ate at Etta’s based on recommendations from friends for our pre-symphony dinner. It did NOT disappoint! The hostess called me “dapper,” the wine and entrees are amazing, and that coconut pie...wow!!!

Enjoyed SRW lunch meal. Only 2 courses out of 3 that were listed. The salad with pork belly and cashews and a mustard like dressing was excellent. The rubbed with love salmon was outstanding, too. Cooked to perfection. But my friend's salmon wasn't cooked as well. I couldn't describe it but it looked odd and did not see the fillet flake apart with a fork like mine. The famous triple coconut cream bite wasn't included since we ordered the salad. We decided to split a full slice of the pie, and it was FABULOUS!

I liked my spinach salad and salmon was flavorful and moist, but rather than wedge of cornbread pudding, would have preferred something else like some sort of potato. I thought it was good, but not spectacular. The dessert which was cheese cake could have been better, maybe just a little larger and not such a hard crust. Perhaps something slightly more traditional in shape and texture. The service was good.

Very forgettable...service includes a 20% mandatory tip which leads to mediocre levels...The bread was the highlight..$160 for 2 people.

We were very well received. Friendly, knowledgeable service. Beautifully prepared plates with very tasty meals. A good variety of delicate dishes to choose from, as well as a good selection of wine. Ultimately the best seafood I’ve had in Seattle. Thank you, Etta’s!

We had the New York steak and the seaweed linguini. It was good, not great. Didn’t feel like it was the highest quality of ingredients- local or not. Dungeness crab in linguini was pretty fishy. Pasta had a good flavor. Steak was tougher than most NY’s we’ve had and was plated with a lot of ‘gravy’ that I felt took away from steak flavor. Waitress indicated they are known for the salmon and crab cakes, so maybe would have been more pleased with these selections, but as someone who crabs and fishes it’s hard to justify purchasing seafood we already do well.

We booked a table during restaurant week. It was busy, but everything went very well.
We had a table by the window with a nice view. Location is right by Pike place market and the original Starbucks, so it is no doubt busy, but would be a great place to take visitors for nice lunch or dinner after visiting the Market. Service was excellent, attentive but not intrusive and all the food was excellent. I had salmon with polenta and asparagus, my husband had a smoked pork chop with pureed cauliflower. It was all wonderful -Loved the cheesecake--very light and creamy w graham cracker crust, cherries and pistachio. We will be back.

We very much enjoyed our dinner here. The waitstaff were friendly and accommodating. Dinner was delicious and well-prepared. I always worry about restaurants over-cooking seafood. Not a problem here. It was fresh and lovely.

I ate here for my birthday and the food was real delicious!! Calamary very tasty!! They do include the service charge (gratuity) and service was excellent!! That did not bother me at all. Will definately go again while visiting Seattle.

I went here with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday and restaurant week since none of us has ever tried Ettas. We love other Tom Douglas restaurants but there was a 'typo' on the restaurant week for lunch option-3 for $18. When we got there and looked at the restaurant week option, it said 2 for $18 and server informed us that we can add dessert for $3. Our food took longer than everyone else's who were seated well after us. We had a great server and my salmon was delicious but not my favorite Tom Douglas.

I was there a year ago and wasn’t impressed.
We tried it again and had an amazing meal .
Every item was excellent from the oysters to the entrees that we all had. Very good!!!
