Walked in, and hosts were arguing with each other. Made me feel awkward like I was Interrupting them by walking in. Then the guy walked me to the table, and kept the negative energy going. He was just like fine I’ll take them.
Sat us down and he said “We charge gratuity it’s at the bottom” then walked away. Lol I was like at bottom of what? So confused.
A few years back, I got to meet Tom Douglas, and I was excited to bring my partner to one of his places once we visited Seattle. I feel like this staff was a poor representation of his name and are potentially running it into the ground.
This place is in dire need of some TLC and attention soon.
Was not impressed with the food. The fish was small and over-fried. Location and ambience wise, it was decent. We also didn’t like that there was mandatory service charge.
The food was fabulous and our server was very attentive. We look forward to having dinner at Etta’s!
We all had wonderful meals at Etta’s. The servers set up outdoor tables for 4 of us since we had a dog with us. The service was terrific! The food was delicious.
Had the salmon and it was excellent. Great place when visiting Seattle
Consistently outstanding food and service. I can’t recommend it more highly.
We chose Etta's Seafood as a place to visit with close friends whom we hadn't seen in a while. Our lunch experience couldn't have been better. Although there were certainly other customers seated nearby, the noise level was low so that we had no trouble hearing each other despite all of us being seniors. We appreciated the generous table size providing plenty of space for drinks and food.
All our food choices were delicious. We are all fans of fresh asparagus and so were delighted to find several choices for tasting the spring crop. The salmon was spectacular. We all shared a coconut cream pie - a fine finish to a lovely meal.
Our server was perfect, knowing exactly when to arrive and when to leave us alone for our visit. We were grateful to be allowed to linger uninterrupted for a very long lunchtime.
Great meal, Karey was a great server!!
We went for mother’s day brunch and it was a blast! We were seated right away for our reservation and the service and food was excellent! My mom is a big crab enthusiast and was impressed with the quality! Would definitely recommend!
Great place to eat with an OK view until bus parks in front, or homeless hanging out front.
My wife and I went to Etta's to experience the Crabby Hour. Etta's did not disappoint! The oysters were very good and tasty and the crab did not disappoint!
While only in Seattle overnight, we looked for a seafood restaurant near the entertainment venue that we were attending. Etta’s seemed to fit the bill. Unfortunately once seated we had to listen to the hostess and then our waitress sing the restaurant’s praises for much longer than was necessary and after placing our orders after the waitress continued her routine at several other tables, we waited even longer for our food. The salmon dish was good but I thought the crab cakes were bland and there was very little taste to the crab bisque on which they were placed and very few vegetables. The fish and chips was good but the chips were In N Out fries just thinner strings. Thought it was very overpriced and service could be better with less extensive fluff about what a great experience you will have before you have it.
Iconic Seattle dining experience
My wife and I had their Rubbed With Love Salmon and it was excellent. Our last visit to Seattle was nearly 20 years ago and it was good to find that Etta’s was as great as before.
We were celebrating my birthday so I was excited to go there. We are boaters so often walk by there on our way to the market. So disappointing. Saturday night but not many people there. Our server was doing double duty bar tending and serving. In a word, our food was not good. My husband and a friend ordered the seafood stew. One half of a crab leg (tasteless) and a few other items. Large slices of grilled bread. Not a good value and not tasty. As our meal took a while I asked if they served bread. It’s $5 extra but then they brought it because everything took so long. My dinner salad was delicious-the blue cheese wedge and I had a crab cake which was just OK. I am a cook and love to cook so I’ll skip this Tom Douglas restaurant and cook at home.
Great food, great service,
Sat by the windows - fun people watching. The calamari was the best I’ve ever had, excellent batter! I had the salmon, my wife had the steak - both were very tasty! But the chocolate-caramel ice cream? Wow! So good!
Great service, our waiter checked in sparingly but that was due to us setting the expectation that we were going to take dinner slowly that night!
Overall, great food, great service!
This place has amazing calamari!! We loved it and the seafood options were delicious. We didn’t enjoy the mussels appetizer but all of our meals were tasty. The dungeonness crab was amazing and the coconut pie dessert is one of a kind. Overall it was good food and a fun atmosphere but some of us were left feeling hungry afterwards.
$166 for two ppl only one glass of wine each. Pretty pricey for a weeknight dinner. Portions are smaller but food and service were great
Another great seafood festival at Etta's. Next time the burgers.
Long wait for food very small portions !! The crab cake dinner looked like an appetizer but the price of a dinner. Halibut dinner was good but again extremely small portion this was highly recommended by a friend and won’t go back as we had a better meal at blueacre with larger portions and less expensive. Truly hate having to give this feedback as maybe it was just a bad night
We love this place!
The hamburger and fish and chips were OK nothing special. The mussels were most appreciated. The service did not warrant the 20% charge. I appreciate tipping appropriately not as an additional charge.
I met friends from Maryland at ETTAS - I ferried to Seattle & took a 15 minute walk over to ETTAS (A good portion through Pikes Mkt.)
We had a variety of seafood & non seafood dinners - each was well-presented and more importantly, they were all great. The service was accommodating (hard to measure as we were there during the early afternoon).
The price was very reasonable for the quality of food, location & friendly ambience.
It will be my new meeting place when meeting friends who are just playing in or passing through Seattle!
The food and service were very good but I feel it has lost some of the freshness it used to have. Still a very nice spot in a great location, if on the expensive side.
Disappointed. Seems the food quality has gone down over the years. It is in high tourist area, maybe just focusing on one time visitor, not on return business.
Lovely place. Great service. Too much sauce on my crab cake sandwich.
Must try Tom's tasty tuna sashimi with green onion pancake, ginger soy, and wasabi tobiko. This along with the Fried oyster Po’Boy and king crab bloody mary were part of Saturday brunch before a stroll through Pike Place Market. Always enjoy our visits to Etta’s.
Fabulous service and excellent food! Always a treat to enjoy an Etta’s brunch!
I am a local and it was very good food. However the portions were small and the meal and extras were expensive. It was a tourist area(by the market) so the usual clientele were probably tourists and willing to pay. I was still hungry and walked to the market for some more food to satisfy me.
I love the location of this restaurant especially if you are seated with a view toward the outside. The service is outstanding and made the entire evening a pure joy. The seafood was absolutely fresh and outstanding. The dishes creative Pacific Northwest cuisine highlighted with Asian flavors. The crabcakes were outstanding and the salmon perfectly prepared with the "Rub with Love" giving a crunchy coating. If you haven't tried the oysters do so, the sauce they are served with should be bottled and sold- I have never tasted anything like it. And let's not forget dessert, being a chocolate lover the chocolate brownie trifle was delightfully smooth with the surprise of the crunchie brownie, but I must say I was a convert to non- chocolate desserts when I tasted the Bergamont Lemon Semifreddo ( my husband ordered), wonderful convection silky, smooth and slightly frozen. Bravo Etta's!
Thank you so much for the lovely and thoughtful review! Andrea E Guest Relations, TDR
I can't fault the service, but Etta's has rested on the Tom Douglas name too long. The food and atmosphere were underwhelming, especially for the price. I hadn't been in years, and I was affirmed why.
Seafood stew is just amazing. The best I’ve had in Seattle to be certain.
I always choose Etta’s for great food and a place we can actually hear each other speak!
Creative food choices with good flavor, but very small portions on the Seattle Restaurant Week special menu.
I tried an omelette and I should’ve stuck with my normal- the Etta’s breakfast with 2 eggs over easy, smashed potatoes, their homemade chicken sausage and a little real maple syrup.
I thought the oysters and clam chowder were pretty mediocre but then we tried the crab cake...hands down the best crab cake I’ve had in my life! It was amazing! Delicious flavorful crab with great accompaniments. Good service as well.
Etta’s never disappoints and this was no exception. Seafood and vegetables fresh from the Pike Place Market.l + great wine pairings + friendly and impeccable service = a wonderful evening out.
Great fresh seafood in Seattle. Wonderful staff and hostess!
