Et Voila! serves lunch, dinner and brunch.
Had to wait 20 minutes but gracious apology given. Neighborhood gem. Excellent food and service.
Delicious meal as before, first time there for brunch. Really enjoyed the cheese and honey tasting with Cheese To The People also!
Wonderful location, food and service! Great neighborhood place and for pre theater.
We'd made a reservation for 5, but our friends showed up with 3 extra people and staff handled the change gracefully and accommodated our party in partly private room. So glad they did as everyone agreed that food was fantastic!
Very enjoyable evening—everything was delicious and staff was very attentive!
We had an excellent meal at Et Voila and were so delighted that the noise level allowed the four of us to have a conversation.
We and friends went for dinner. We all enjoy great food prepared in an interesting way. We get this at EtVoila. The endive and cheese salad is terrific; kitchen split it to share. Wife and I had the bronzino over pasta and mushrooms. This is one of our favorites here. The apricot and pistachio tart with ice cream was delicious. Belgian beers we available, of course. We will be back!
For such an expensive restaurant, we had a sub-par experience. First of all, my husband got ill in the middle of the night after eating at the restaurant. We called the manager the next morning and they said they would email us after talking to the chef. The email later that day said that they didn't think it was their restaurant since no one else had called in to report an illness. They offered us a free dessert the next time we come in. Ummm, don't bother we won't be back. When someone gets sick so quickly after eating, it's almost certainly a result of the food, so for them to not admit that and instead put it back on us is very unprofessional. Also, when you're spending $80+ per person, I would expect the servers to not reach across plates to grab water glasses for refilling, and not to clank things around on the table. And at one point, the guy we were with kind of jumped because one of the servers slammed a cabinet door shut behind him on the wine wall. The whole thing was just kind of weird...it's like they want to appear as though they are an elite restaurant, but they sure didn't act like it. Altogether, 2 couples spent $350+ on dinner between cocktails, entrees, salads (which you have to buy separately), one shared dessert (and not even any appetizers), so I would have expected superior service, and a much more gracious response when we reported the affect the meal had on us.
*Update: The restaurant reached out to us to rectify this professionally.
Love this place!!
We love our guest ! See you soon
We have never had a bad meal here. I look forward to our next reservation! The service is personable and attentive. The food is amazing and the recommendations are appropriate. Our new go-to place!
Restaurant has very good noise damping. Was easy to carry on a conversation.
A very nice place that we frequent and to which we take our out-of-town visitors and friends. Food varies from very good to excellent. The service has always been prompt and cheerful. It is a little too noisy for someone who forgot to bring his hearing aids.
We love the restaurant and the food is outstanding, but the noise level and closeness on a busy Saturday night are a challenge.
We will be returning, but on a weekday evening when it isn't quite so energetic.
We[ve been going Et Voila for several years. It's popularity continues to grow and at the same time it's comfort level and food quality seems to slip. Whether you agree with my assessment, what is a fact is that weekend dinners are probably best avoided at the smallish restaurant. It's massively crowded, and if you wind up in a seat on one of the narrow aisles that bisect the two rear parts of the place, you're likely to get jostled throughout your meal.
The food is pretty good, but not sensational and the prices are pretty high for what's on offer. If you are a vegetarian, you should not bother coming here. This is old school European and non-meat/seafood dishes are an afterthought.
The food was excellent! The service impeccable and friendly!
Thank you for your kind feedback. We are hoping to host you really soon
Dinner with my husband after spending the day in DC. Delicious dinner, short ribs were fab, my goat cheese salad was delicious, moules very good, enjoyed the wine & dessert Our waiter Benjamin was delightful Will return with friends
Except for a mediocre steak, the food continues to be very good. But, the service suffers when the restaurant is fully occupied, both inside and outside.
Wonderful restaurant. We have had many meals there from middle of the week dinner to special occasions. They never disappoint!
Et Voila is the real deal - a proper French Bistro in the heart of the Pallisades. The food is excellent... and pricey. The drinks are extremely expensive. I would accept all this if the tables were organized differently, but you very tightly packed together, and one or two of you will always be looking at the wall with the hustle and bustle of servers behind you. So in terms of ambiance, Et Voila is a little lacking. Still, it's very good food and the servers are very nice and friendly.
The food was amazing and the service was great. I recommend the risotto.
Great food! Consistently perfect, attentive wait staff as well as a neighborhood favorite
Food at Et Voila has gone down hill. We used to love this restaurant, but not after this last visit. Specifically:
No more hunter pate, so my wife ordered the ham spread, which was almost tasteless. Even with some unidentifiable accompaniment, it was bad. Mussels in white wine, garlic and onion were also bland, and the mussels were tough and rubbery. Escargot had flavor, but the toasted bread with them was dripping with oil. Trout was ok, just bland again. Dessert was floating island, a dish of egg whites whipped surrounded by vanilla creme. Would never order this again. One more good place crossed off our list. If this place were anywhere near the Grand Place, it would be shunned.
Et Viola is a wonderful dining experience that creates an exceptional atmosphere through the terrific service and exquisite food.
Thank you for your comment. You satisfaction is our priority and we are glad that you liked the service from the door to your entire dinner experience. See you really soon, Sylvain Frances General Manager
Great service from start to finish and delicious food, we love Et Voila!
Once again a GREAT location for a fun even though business lunch
Staff is very friendly and helpful as the three of us walked through the menu
Excellent omelettes for two of us and once again a FAB presentation of trout for one colleague
We’ll be back again!
Dear Abundanza, Thank you very much for your comment ! We are really glad that you enjoyed your lunch. Hope to see really soon Sylvain
These days over salting food is a no no in any restaurant.
I ordered the market day special, Sole Meuniere which came with spinach.
The spinach was distastefully over salted, practically inedible.
The sole arrived not boned so I requested deboning which was done expertly and promptly at table.
I was tempted to return the spinach for an alternative substitution but decided not to make further fuss as this is a restaurant I enjoy.
My advice here:
While I'm not keen on mussels, if you are, play to their strong suit, mussels!
Friendly staff, attentive service, an enjoyable brunch.
This place wins every time. The best people all around. Best quality food by best chef. Best service and atmosphere. And this time the special tomahawk steak was over the moon perfect. Grass fed beef. Cooked to perfect (which means barely cooked to perfection. Awesome cocktails and wine as well. Go here only if you want a perfect night.
Thank you for your comment. We are glad to read that your dinner reached your expectation ! We do special every week, all information are available on our website ! I hope to see you really soon ! Sylvain Frances General Manager
We both had the lobster burgers with a house salad. The burgers were very good. Service was very attentive and helpful.
We sat a few tables away from the bar and there were so many fruit flies/nats flying around the table while we were eating - it was very unpleasant to have to continue to swat them away. Perhaps if the floor was mopped with bleach and everything wiped down clean to eliminate grease and sticky residue- it might help the problem
We sat outside for a 6:30 reservation...
Great service... in fact... flawless service especially since the restaurant was full by 7 pm and the tables continued to fill and turn all evening. We had flus grad terrine, warm tomato soup with olives grilled salmon. There wasn’t a crumb left of anything. For my birthday dessert we ordered opera cake that arrived with a lite candle ( no singing thank goodness) a wonderful and memorable cake... google it and then order it... simply delicious.
Thank you for your comment. We are glad to read that your birthday dinner reached your expectation ! Next time do not hesitate to try our delicious new Miserable cake with its five different Vanilla. I hope to see you really soon ! Sylvain Frances General Manager
Had a few flies flying around during dinner which was a problem. Ordered mussels....way too many onions, not enough garlic & wine. Prices seem to be higher
As always, the food and service were excellent!
Excellent food and wine, as usual. However, the restaurant was completely full (Sunday evening), and the servers were slammed. We had to flag ours down to place order, get check. Not the best experience.
A neighbor raved about this restaurant and I can understand why: Exceptional food and a very interesting menu. The only negative I can say is that the service was a little slow, but we weren't in a hurry.
We had one of the best meals we have ever had in DC. Went for an anniversary dinner. Loved this place! I had the branzino, which was very tasty with its lobster sauce and wonderful pasta. Awesome. My husband had the stew, which was tender and delicious. Soup and dessert were excellent as well. Service was attentive. Really enjoyed the evening.
Thank you for your comment. We are glad to read that you had a lovely Anniversary Dinner at Et Voila DC I hope to see you really soon ! Sylvain Frances General Manager
Food was astonishing. Everything was great. Seven people had a wide variety of appetizers and entrees. All the dishes were outstanding: vegetable Napoleon, French onion soup, sole meunière, beef stew, trout, salmon, lamb pasta.
Thank you for your comment. It's a pleasure to had accommodated your party. Food quality is one of our main concern since the opening ! I hope to see you really soon ! Sylvain Frances
Et Voila is our go-to place for date night. My wife and I probably go once a month and enjoy it every time. It is a fantastic neighborhood place that is crowded but somehow we can (almost) always get a table. Everything is good, but our favorites are the escargot, beef tartare, hanger steak and the mussels (pick anyone of them, you can't go wrong). They pour a nice martini and the service is always welcoming and friendly.
Thank you for your comment. We are glad to read Et Voila DC is your favorite place ! Do not hesitate to come on weekend, we are offering specials in additional of our regular menu ! I hope to see you really soon ! Sylvain Frances General Manager
