Estrellita Mexican Bistro & Cantina Ratings and Reviews
Tasty food, attentive service, and reasonable prices can be expected at Estrellita's Bistro & Cantina. My wife and I enjoyed the enchilada suizas as well as the California chicken burrito. The included chips are served with two spicy salsas and a bottle of tap water. I would definitely return to Estrellita's when in the mood for a Mexican meal.
The meal and service were excellent. The Margaritas are delicious, we tried a few different ones between the group. They were all good, just depends on your preference. Loved the enchiladas and the street tacos were a good starter, but I'd get a couple orders if more than 2 people. Will definitely go back.
I first ate at Estralitta's 50 yr.s ago when my Dad was working in Palo Alto. It's probably been 30+ years since I last ate there and it is every bit as good today as it was when I last was in.
They've done a great job of sticking with a traditional Mexican menu while making small adjustments to appeal to current tastes.
I told my Dad about our dinner there and he's planning to drive down from Santa Rosa just to eat there again.
Very good food & service with reasonable prices. Estrellita is not fancy, but one can count on a satisfying & enjoyable lunch. My family enjoyed enchilada suizas, the California burrito with Oacaxa chicken, and the enchilada combination plate.
Chips and two spicy salsas are served upon being seated. Estrellita's is a good choice for lunch with a friend or the family.
We went for a late lunch. Everyone enjoyed their menu choices. I had the shrimp veracruzana; it was yummy! The special guacamole with mango was a table favorite. Service of drinks appetizers seemed a little slow, but all our lunches came in a timely manner and everyone enjoyed their choices. We were not rushed to leave.
Estrellita Mexican Bistro & Cantina has very good food, good service, and reasonable prices. The chips & two spicy salsas served upon seating are excellent, as are the enchilada suiza, California burrito with Oaxaca chicken, and chicken quesadilla.
The restaurant is not fancy, but a comfortable setting for a tasty & enjoyable lunch.
Two spicy salsas are served with tasty chips upon seating in this typical Mexican style restaurant that serves very good food with decent service and reasonable prices. My family enjoyed quesadillas, enchiladas, and chicken oaxaca burritos all served with rice and beans.
Service was a bit slow and the waitress disappeared for long periods of time, but lunch was very good and overall it was an enjoyable dining experience.
The restaurant was bustling the night we were there. A large group had most of the room. It was loud and our waiter was busy, but either he or someone else came to check on us regularly. Food took longer than expected, but that was because the kitchen was slammed. Food was good, drinks were good. We'll be back, and hopefully it won't be that crazy next time.
Service was quite slow, and really could use some improvement. This has happened on other visits. Also my shrimp taco's - were way too much garlic. I'm Italian, I love garlic, but it was so overpowering. I would not order the shrimp taco's again. The Mole seems to be one of the best options, it's delicious.
Tasty food, very good service, and reasonable prices result in an enjoyable dining experience at Estrellita. The California burrito with oaxaca chicken is delicious as is the enchilada suizas. Chips with two hot salsas are served upon seating with a large bottle of water.
Estrellita is one of my family's favorite places for a dependable Mexican lunch.
Very good food & service at a reasonable price. Estrellita routinely serves delicious enchiladas, burritos, and quesadilla, and is one of my family's favorite lunch locations. Chips are served with two very spicy salsas and a bottle of water, which we consume very quickly while eating the chips.
Estrellita is not fancy, but we have always left full and satisfied. I definitely recommend Estrellita for a casual lunch with family or friends.
Chile Releno was great - chicken enchilada left a lot to be desired, dry and just lacked a lot in comparison to other chicken enchiladas I have ordered at other places, however my friend asked to have her chicken enchilida with green tomatilla sauce and that was very good, nice and moist and great flavor. The Sangria was definitely not to my liking, very different than other sangrias I have had at other places. Note- my Chili Relano was great and notspicy (and I cannot tolerate spicy food), however my friends tuned out to be a very hot relano, and I do not believe these are listed as spicy so beware they can vary in "heat" - I presumed each poblano is different, but their Chile relanos are among the best I have eater in other places, great sauce.
Estrellita has terrific chips & spicy salsa served upon being seated at one of the indoor or outdoor tables (along a busy city street). Lunch servings are generous and prices are particularly attractive. My family and I enjoyed chicken enchiladas, chicken tacos, enchilada suizas, cheese quesadilla, and the taco chicken salad very much.
Service can sometimes be a bit slow, but it was very good this particular visit. We'll definitely return to Estrellita in the near future.
Very authentic dishes, some executed well and some not..ee had the pipian which was one of the best i have had, the chile en nogada which was mediocre at best, and the cochinita pibil. The cochinita came with the picnled cebollas, but no habanero which is traditionally how it is made. I get that they cant serve it with habanero due to clientel, but they didnt even have any to serve on the side, which was disappointing. What killed the dishes were the terrible tortillas they served. Had they been at least decent tortillas, a 4th star would have been given for the food. Im mexican and have trveled throught mexico eating these dishes and while i was stiked to see they had some of these dishes, the lack of attention t9 detail made this place average.
