The food was good and the pricing was decent. The ambiance is vibrant. The only downside is that they charged for additional tortillas if you order the fajitas (which only comes with 2 tortillas). It's only $1.50 more and not about the money, however it was more distasteful if anything. I've never, in my frequent experience of dining at Mexican restaurants, have been charged for tortillas. (And only given 2 with my order) Other than that, the food was good, the drinks were yummy, it was a decent experience.
We ate on patio. We didn’t even feel like we were on a busy street it’s so well insulated from street. The food was delicious and well played. Our wait staff were attentive. A good place for a reliably delicious meal. This restaurant has been in same family for over 30 years but is now updated and run by a new generation.
The chips and two spicy salsas are delicious at Estrellita's as was the California burrito with chicken & jalapeños. I was grateful that the restaurant leaves a carafe of water on the table, as my mouth was burning hot from the spices.
The wait staff was very attentive, and lunch was most enjoyable. Lunch size servings & pricing were more than enough food for my wife & I, and we were happy we did not chose the dinner size portion.
Authentic Mexican family restaurant. Our British guest enjoyed the experience as there are not many Mexican restaurants in the UK. So a good place for foreign visitors.
Food never disappoints. Burrito may not be as gigantic as in the past, but still super tasty.
Very good food, good service, and excellent value can be expected when dining at Estrellita Mexican Bistro. The chicken enchiladas with rice & beans were very tasty, as were the chips and spicy salsas served upon seating. Estrellita is a good choice for lunch.
Very good food, decent service, and reasonable prices can be anticipated at Estrellita. The California chicken burrito and chicken tostado salad were both delicious, as were the chips served with two spicy salsas. The restaurant offers indoor & outdoor seating along a busy street. I'd definitely return to Estrellita when in the mood for Mexican food.
Always good food. The service is great and quiet enough to have a business conversation uninterrupted.
I've eaten at Estrellita multiple times prior to attending a play at Los Altos Stage Company and the food, service and ambiance is consistently exceptional. I can't imagine eating anywhere else when visiting Los Altos. Have their coconut-Kahlua flan for dessert...it's fab!!!
All good. Had an entertainment coupon but the discount was pretty minimal. Overall a very good experience.
Very short staff and poor interaction with the customer. I️t took them some time to acknowledge us. When they did they did a good job. They were short handed but the food was good.
Great service and good food. Excellent drinks
Tasty food, attentive service, and reasonable prices can be expected at Estrellita's Bistro & Cantina. My wife and I enjoyed the enchilada suizas as well as the California chicken burrito. The included chips are served with two spicy salsas and a bottle of tap water. I would definitely return to Estrellita's when in the mood for a Mexican meal.
Best authentic Mexican food!!!!!!
The meal and service were excellent. The Margaritas are delicious, we tried a few different ones between the group. They were all good, just depends on your preference. Loved the enchiladas and the street tacos were a good starter, but I'd get a couple orders if more than 2 people. Will definitely go back.
8 of us (4 young adults and their parents) went for dinner on a Saturday night. The guacamole was delicious. Each person thoroughly enjoyed his/her meal. For me it was fish tacos. Delicious! We'll definitely go there again.
Good food and cocktails, but not enough wait staff the evening we dined. This made for slow service.
Thumbs up for the mezcalrita cocktail.
I first ate at Estralitta's 50 yr.s ago when my Dad was working in Palo Alto. It's probably been 30+ years since I last ate there and it is every bit as good today as it was when I last was in.
They've done a great job of sticking with a traditional Mexican menu while making small adjustments to appeal to current tastes.
I told my Dad about our dinner there and he's planning to drive down from Santa Rosa just to eat there again.
Service could be a little quicker and more efficient given we had a party of 9 and already paying the 18% gratuity.
The best part of the experience was the service. We seemed to be much needier than usual and all of our requests were handled quickly and with a smile!!
We came here for lunch. We were immediately served warm chips and fresh salsa. Our food was absolutely delicious. Service was excellent with very friendly staff. We look forward to our next visit.
Great authentic Mexican food. Best kept secret in the Peminsula for Mexican food.
The Goirmet burrito has been a staple for them for over 49 years! Nice bar , great chips amd salsa. Highly recommend!!!
We went on a really warm day. Seems like they have a swamp cooler but not A/C. Food was ok. Service was ok. Good draft beer selection. Probably won't come here again with all the Mexican restaurant options available.
Very good food & service with reasonable prices. Estrellita is not fancy, but one can count on a satisfying & enjoyable lunch. My family enjoyed enchilada suizas, the California burrito with Oacaxa chicken, and the enchilada combination plate.
Chips and two spicy salsas are served upon being seated. Estrellita's is a good choice for lunch with a friend or the family.
Party of 12. Good local spot. Had family dinner and it happens to be my son's 22nd birthday!
We went for a late lunch. Everyone enjoyed their menu choices. I had the shrimp veracruzana; it was yummy! The special guacamole with mango was a table favorite. Service of drinks appetizers seemed a little slow, but all our lunches came in a timely manner and everyone enjoyed their choices. We were not rushed to leave.
Estrellita Mexican Bistro & Cantina has very good food, good service, and reasonable prices. The chips & two spicy salsas served upon seating are excellent, as are the enchilada suiza, California burrito with Oaxaca chicken, and chicken quesadilla.
The restaurant is not fancy, but a comfortable setting for a tasty & enjoyable lunch.
We had reservations and when we arrived the place was packed. No one greeted us or anyone else waiting. Weexplained that they had overbooked the evening.
Two spicy salsas are served with tasty chips upon seating in this typical Mexican style restaurant that serves very good food with decent service and reasonable prices. My family enjoyed quesadillas, enchiladas, and chicken oaxaca burritos all served with rice and beans.
Service was a bit slow and the waitress disappeared for long periods of time, but lunch was very good and overall it was an enjoyable dining experience.
The restaurant was bustling the night we were there. A large group had most of the room. It was loud and our waiter was busy, but either he or someone else came to check on us regularly. Food took longer than expected, but that was because the kitchen was slammed. Food was good, drinks were good. We'll be back, and hopefully it won't be that crazy next time.
Great food! Service was a bit slow, but I think it was because there was a fundraiser happening, but it was clear they were working hard and trying their best.
Great Mexican food and also great service. Everyone, including the other patrons were friendly. Someone at the next table took our picture!
I've been here a few times, but this experience was the best so far. Their mole sauce is excellent!
Service was quite slow, and really could use some improvement. This has happened on other visits. Also my shrimp taco's - were way too much garlic. I'm Italian, I love garlic, but it was so overpowering. I would not order the shrimp taco's again. The Mole seems to be one of the best options, it's delicious.
We weren't greeted or given menus when seated, and it took awhile for wait staff to acknowledge our table. Asked about Happy Hour as website stated M-F 5-7 p.m. but waiter said no but offered no explanation as to why not.
Tasty food, very good service, and reasonable prices result in an enjoyable dining experience at Estrellita. The California burrito with oaxaca chicken is delicious as is the enchilada suizas. Chips with two hot salsas are served upon seating with a large bottle of water.
Estrellita is one of my family's favorite places for a dependable Mexican lunch.
Locally operated for several generations, Estralita never fails to satisfy. Usual and uniqui dished are prepared with care. Lovely flavors, unlike Mexican chain restaurants and standard Mexican food.
Drinks were great and decor was nice. Louder music would've helped the ambiance a little bit. The food was good but a little over priced.
Very good food & service at a reasonable price. Estrellita routinely serves delicious enchiladas, burritos, and quesadilla, and is one of my family's favorite lunch locations. Chips are served with two very spicy salsas and a bottle of water, which we consume very quickly while eating the chips.
Estrellita is not fancy, but we have always left full and satisfied. I definitely recommend Estrellita for a casual lunch with family or friends.
Authentic Mexican restaurant near the corner of El Camino and San Antonio in Mtn View.
They use good, old family recipes for the mole sauce. I usually order the Mole Chicken
but also enjoyed the Prawn Burrito this time.
