Excellent food, good portions too! Probably the best tasting, most authentic Spanish Tapas restaurant in Massachusetts thus far, and we’ve been to many of them... we were fortunate enough to meet the owner, and he was very nice, even gave us a can of Spanish seasoned mussels that were delicious! Will definitely return for many more occasions! Thank you for a great family dining experience!!!
Fabulous food; terrific waiter; high energy
I come fairly often as I work nearby. The ambience is great, drinks particularly the cocktails are excellent. The waitstaff are knowledgeable
Food is really good. The only negative is the appetizers are expensive and there is just too much bread.
Went on a bad weather day so there werent many people inside but the atmosphere and the service was great. The food was also good :)
I work at Boston Medical Center, and a group of 13 of us stopped by to recognizes some of the accomplishments for members of the section. We had a great time. Lots of beer choices, and the food was fantastic. The wait staff were very attentive, and we were served quickly. Definitely good for this type of event.
Food was great service was too. Thank you Estragon
Our server was great, walked us through the wine list and made a great recommendation. The tapas menu is extensive and has something for anyone. The pinchos are a bit overpriced for the size. Tapas portions were acceptable, however. The food was amazing.
I came to Estragon to celebrate Valentines day over the weekend. We made a reservation but accidentally got there about 30 min early, and the staff was great and very accommodating. We told them we were willing to wait until our time, but they sat us immediately which we appreciated. It was our first time at Estragon so we weren't sure what to expect but it was a great experience and we really enjoyed our Valentines dinner there.
Our waiter was Sahil and he was fantastic. He answered all of our questions. As a vegetarian with some severe food allergies I felt very taken care of, and he was just fun to talk to. He gave us some suggestions about the menu and paced out the food coming to the table well. Everything was delicious and the cocktails were great.
We'll definitely be coming back sometime and I hope we'll have Sahil as our waiter again. Thanks for a great night!
Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Service level and attentiveness very good. Food was a bit underwhelming and heavy for tapas. Ordered a total of 4 beers, all from craft breweries in New England so should have been fresh. All were tired and oxidized. Realize the focus is probably more on the wine list but if the drinks menu is going to showcase a few dozen craft beers it should be someone's job to manage freshness.
Good food at a great value
Wait staff helpful and friendly
Met with another couple, good friends, very cold night, staff very cordial, knowledgeable. Tappas was new to us so waiter helped with ordering esp. to order a few dishes, then after a few more etc. Food was absolutely delicious and some very fun like the ham croquettes and crisp garbanzo beans. The special of skewered lamb and a lamb pastry. excellent. One guest was not a fan of lamb but found both lamb dishes quite tasty and different in seasoning and preparation/sauces. All the table remarked how they liked the restaurant and was convenient to get to and planning to return. Parking is street only, but no problem. The wine list long although only one indulged but really enjoyed the suggested choice. Excellent choice for almost any occasion, noise quite mellow and very casual decor/dress. Nice bar also.
Delicious cocktails with very tasty filling tapas!
I was disappointed with the food and drinks. I expected more flavor from the food but most of it was bland. The drinks were not any better. And the portions were very small even with it being a tapas restaurant.
Estragon provided an environment worthy of tapas. We were served by a lovely woman and seated in feline print cushioned chairs. The tortilla española was perfect, just how I remembered it in Spain.
The atmosphere was great> i know tapas is small portions but they were really small in this place. Would rather go to another tapas restaurant.
For years I have told anyone who will listen this is one of the best restaurants in Boston- I still believe that!
Great experience wonderful food good service our favorite when in Boston!
We celebrated my friend's bachelorette dinner here and the servers were very kind and accommodating. I told them we had to leave by a certain time and they were great at bringing everything out...and even checking in on time several times.
I made a reservation 12/29 for my birthday and I can't remember my waiter's name, but he provided some seriously, top notch, service. One person in my party was vegan and another GF and he couldn't have been more patient and accommodating. He gave us options and made really helpful suggestions. When the food came out, he even took the time again to explain what was GF and vegan. I was seriously blown away.
All the food was very good. I especially enjoyed the cuttlefish, which you don't see on many menus. I would recommend it for anyone that needs a menu that can accommodate many types of diets.
Good food - scallops were super. Good service. Friendly staff. LOUD adjacent table.
Overall, good value and pleasant scene.
Has always been one of my go too places with my family or simply with my husband. The service, food and drinks are amazing. My husband and I always feel welcome by the staff.
Great for a group holiday party. Service and food were great. Its walking distance from Boston medical center where we work . They only open at 5 pm so we had to wait outside for 15 mins.
Our favorite tapas restaurant in Boston, we keep on coming back! Wish we lived closer! Great food and excellent service!
Beautifully authentic food and friendly yet sophisticated atmosphere. Lovely cocktails and a very solid temperanillo!
the food was varied and excellent. good cocktails. all of us enjoyed the visit.
Food was quite good with very nice selection of tapas. Interesting and well priced wine list with obvious focus on Spain. Service was very competent, if somewhat slow.
Ambience is the problem for this place...cold night and a very cold restaurant. We were seated near a window...our guess about 62 degrees. Restaurant felt dark and empty.
There are three Spanish restaurants in the South End, they need to pick up their game,
The craft cocktails were so unique and curious. We shared every dish ordered. Delicious!! Even dessert was devoured. Our server knew everything about the menu, the drinks and us. He knew just what we'd like to eat and drink. Great time and great food. We'll go back.
For the price, you're better off at Toro or Barcelona. Estragon isn't worth it.
one of my favorite restaurants. love the decor & ambiance. service is lovely familiar faces. festive cocktails. and the food is delicioso!!!
Wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and we did not feel rushed. Our server was a delight. The drinks were amazing! Try the Estragon.... it's refreshing and delicious.
Always a favorite. The environment, music, food, drinks, service always exceed expectations.
Every dish we had brought us back to the tapas restaurants in Spain. It was just like we remembered. Each meat dish was perfectly cooked. The portions were perfect tapas portions. We will be going back!!
Terrific! Thanks ! We
Absolutely outstanding!!! Best tapas I have had in years.
Good Spanish foos!!! Great Paella, croquetas and flamenquines!!!
The chuletines and mash potatoes were excelent, too.
Unfortunately, our evening at Estragon did not make for a pleasant date night. The service was slow and inattentive--looked like the one waitstaff had the bulk of the work while various busers/host did little to help out. I can deal with poor service if the food makes up for it, but it was really the terrible quality food that made for an unfortunate experience. My husband and I orders 6 things and not one was enjoyable. In fact, my husband took one bite of the calamares tapa and couldn't stomach any more. The waitress just asked if we were 'done' with the dish but never asked if something was wrong with it.....isn't it obvious with just one bite missing that the dish was left purposefully? Needless to say, we won't be returning to Estragon.
This was special occasion and as usual the food was outstanding. The sangria was delicious for a warm night. The waitstaff was cordial, preferred the waiter(s) we usually have.
Excellent and attentive service, coupled with imaginative and thoroughly delicious small plates. Looking forward to our next visit!
This is some of the best tapas in boston - the food is almost always very good
My last visit, though m, was disappointing. Both the bar tender and waitress seemed confused and inattentive. It was nearly impossible to get drinks.
Most of the food was excellent, but the paella came back badly burned on the bottom - the sure sign of an overworked and undertrained kitchen since paella requires constant care.
The truly disappointing part was that when the waitress finally came by again, I pointed it out. She scowled and angrily returned to the kitchen without asking if we wanted anything else.
The promptly came back and said "that is how it is supposed to be"
I've eaten Palleiko
The snapper and moon fish taco appetizer were fresh and delicious as were the Brussels sprouts with sausage crumble.
The Fideua was a huge disappointment. Bland, fishy (not a compliment for a seafood dish), and overcooked.
The chocolate mouse with sea salt didn't need the olive oil float.
