Estiatorio Milos - NY Ratings and Reviews
Waiter was excellent the food also good a tad disappointed with the bud boy as we requested butter several times and finally had to flag our waiter over.
Took awhile to pay check but it was Saturday night so all is good...I’ll be back again no doubt one of my favs
Milos is always on our rotation when we come to NYC. The vibe is upbeat and the food - especially the fish - is dynamite. It's a bit on the noisy side but that makes for a great, lively atmosphere. It's always fun to walk over to the ice-mounded display where the whole fish are displayed and choose the fish they will prepare for your table. And for starters, don't miss the grilled octopus and the Milos Special - thin slivers of eggplant and zucchini, lightly-breaded and fried, served with a perfect tsatziki sauce for dipping.
I always love this restaurant. It is a favorite for the pre-theatre menu. Always delicious. My only comment is that it’s now 3 courses instead of 4. I miss not having the Greek salad so I ordered it separately. Kind of expensive for tomatoes and feta and a few slices of cucumber and onion -$15. The pre-theatre menu is still a great deal - around $50. I had the raw bar which is a few pieces of sushi and a few clams. My friend had the octopus. We both had the fish )- delicious and Greek yogurt with pieces of Baklava for dessert. Service is always excellent. I will be back.
My wife and I had to wait to be seated even though there were empty tables for two. But our server was great with her explanations of the menu and the fresh fish market was wonderful as we were both able to pick our fish and how we wanted it done. People say the lamb is fabulous but we will have to try that the next time.
They have three different menus .. i choose a small plate and my husband something from the menu 2 let’s put it in this way! Chef said we may choose plates from the same menu otherwise it does not work, cause food has to come are the sine time! So I go to this fancy restaurant and can t have my food s choise cause Chef says so! Really great don t you think? I got mad and they gave me dessert trying to turn things better! I am not looking for tips, but good quality of service ...
Food is fantastic and consistent in this regard. Only problem is a wait staff who rushes each course and makes you feel like you are going through a car wash that is moving too quickly. They even brought the appetizer and salad together. Forget about being friendly-staff has no time for that. The interior was just refurbished and it is beautiful. However, at a table of four I had difficulty hearing the person next to me. It is very noisy with poor acoustics.
We made reservations. Arrived before time. Told by a condescending young man that we could wait at the bar. The bartender was phenomenal. After 30 min, I asked when we would be seated. I was told maybe 15 min. I said oh no. We ate there last year and loved the ambiance and the food but the way we were treated has caused me to never go back there again!
