This restaurant is one of Santa Fe's best dining experiences. Estevan is an excellent chef and his unique cuisine is always special and delicious. He's also an expert in choosing wines with your meal. We recently took three friends, who are foodies, from out of town to this restaurant and they were all raving about their experience. Enjoy!
Love some of the new red wines Estevan has on his list!!
Wonderful restaurant! Amazing lamb incredible flavor and fabulous sauces!
The food was excellent! I had the Lemon Chicken It was tender and nicely seasoned. My husband had the Lamb that melted in your mouth and did not need a knife. The best part of the meal was Laetitie! She was one of the best wait staff we have had in Santa Fe. She was very professional, helpful and knowledgeable about the food. Laetitie checked on us frequently. I appreciated that she had a sense of humor as my husband and her had a "banter" going on. Enjoyable !
Under staffed and over booked. After waiting an hour and 15 minutes for our meal, we walked out. The wait staff was doing their best to manage the situation and gave us a free glass of wine. And the few plates that made it out of the kitchen smelled great. But in the end we were just too tired to wait any longer. Hopefully this was just an off night.
Love the tres leches cake! Light and heavenly the perfect desert!!!
The local lamb is exceptional, wonderful flavor and a real treat!
Really outstanding. A sweet, intimate restaurant with the best food in Santa Fe. The chef met us and helped us order. Food presentation was as good as the flavor. Highly recommend.
Superb! the enchilada with red chilli is amazing!!! Incredible flavor! Like nowhere else in the world!
I went to Stevan because it features sustainable organic food, unfortunately it was a bad day for the restaurant with their stuff. The lady that I had as a waitress was really cold and not very helpful. She did not even bother telling me the special of the day.
I will give it a second chance if I have the nice waiter I finally got tours the middle of my sad dinner. The grass fed burger was delicious, but I would have preferred the Artic char if I would have known the specials of the day 😢
Our servers were all exceptionally pleasant. The food was homey and pleasant. I felt like I was eating at someone's house.
Always such a satisfying experience! I just love the green chili cheese burger with amazing Spanish wine, not to be missed!
Saturday night and restaurant was fairly empty. Sat in a little alcove room with some pretty dead geraniums. My husband had a cabbage salad which was warm and kind of strange. I ordered the special salad for the day-lettuce leaves heirloom tomatoes and cucumber. 6 baby romaine leaves, 3 cucumber slices and 3 wedges of regular red tomato arranged on a huge plate. Bolognese was sweet and not pleasant. Cheese in poblano chili was dense and the sauce tasted like a light tomato sauce. So sad.
Love the tamales!!!
The red chilli is so amazing!!!
Our concierge recommended Estevan for lunch or dinner. We are glad we took her recommendation. It's a beautiful restaurant with service and food to match.
We had read positive reviews so we decided to try it out on our recent trip to Santa Fe. Unfortunately We were disappointed in the wait staff’s reluctance to assist us in finding gluten free modifications to virtually every dish on the menu. We were not asking for brand new dishes to be created, just modifications so that my husband could have a couple of options. He is celiac, not gluten-free by choice. After our friendly persistence the waiter finally agreed to ask the chef for some options. The chef quickly and deliciously created a gluten free sauce for our appetizer. Our main course was average at best. On a positive note, the wine list was very good with well priced wines.
Food was delicious and creative. Service was great. Restaurant was mostly empty and the ambiance was quite nice.
Myself and three family members recently ate at Estevan for restaurant week. Everyone agreed that the entire experience could not have better. The chef, his wife, and the entire staff go out of their way to make the dining experience memorable. Ambiance and the quality of the food are outstanding. All four of us agreed we will definitely return to Estevan again.
The food is delicious from the chips and salsa on the table when you arrive to the flan for dessert, and every morsel in between. It is authentic New Mexican cuisine taken up a notch in terms of locally sourced freshness combined with subtle flavors reflecting Chef Estevan's haute cuisine training. As a native son of Santa Fe, Chef Estevan combines what he learned in his mother's kitchen with his experience running some of LA's most sophisticated fusion eateries. There are several delicious pan-European dishes on the menu for the chili adverse--all were delicious! The ambiance is relaxed, old world Santa Fe with a great affordable wine list and overall accessible price point. The space is cozy with a wood burning fireplace in winter and a 2nd story balcony for summer people watching. It's a perfect location for an after dinner stroll around the plaza. We dined there 2 of the 3 nights we were in Santa Fe! I highly recommend it.
It is the personal charm that makes any restaurant.
Truly classic New Mexican fare. Order THE PERFECT ENCHILADA. It is not on the menu. It is the Platonic form of enchilada. The ONLY place that compares is the home of a native New Mexican with strong ties to Chimayó.
I am a native New Mexican. Estevan is preparing the best New Mexican food in Santa Fe. Carefully sourced and intentionally prepared, you will discover the simple and complex flavor and structure when live and mindfulness inform the cooking.
I understand Estevan honors his mother with his cooking, inspired by her recipes. He is making his momma proud.
A very cozy and intimate dining experience by the fire on a wintery evening outside. We really enjoyed the staff there as well and have dined there each time we come to Santa Fe.
Fantastic all around. Food was cooked perfectly and the server was prompt and polite. Thanks!
Amazing food and the service was impeccable. So glad we went there for dinner!
The food was excellent. It was odd to walk into a dining room without a hostess to greet us. The portions of food based on prices seemed high. The ambiance was nice with a fireplace and a smaller room.
Cozy setting, very inviting, excellent service and attention to detail. We will return!
quaint place with excellent service, food and friendliness .... Chef Estevan greeted and sat our group and then prepared delicious farm to table food.....worth the effort to go!!!
Good food, excellent service!
The red chili enchilada with the ribeye was so delicious!
Amazing sauces!!! YUM!
Poblano pepper dish was terrific and the service was very good. Staff was attentive and patient as we lingered for a long time after dinner. I would definitely recommend Estevan to others.
The staff was excellent. We will go back.
Always love the red chili from Chimayo a real treat even if you just have it with french fries!!!
Locally sourced lamb from Northern New Mexico was delicious!
Exceptional as always!!
one of my favorite restaurants in Santa Fe!!!
Love the real fireplace while dining!
We wanted to try some place new for dinner and I am so glad that we did! This small, intimate restaurant is upstairs in the Hotel Chimayo, right off the plaza. When we walked up we were not sure who to speak with about our reservations-never fear, the owner/chef walked right over to seat us. Love the fireplace. Amazing food, especially the FLAN. I know, normally a bit boring, but this one was creamy, flavorful, and oh so perfect. We will be back!
I was disappointed that I was not able to make a dinner at Geronimo and “settled” for Estevan. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise. My family and I enjoyed a fantastic New Year’s Eve dinner at Estevan’s. Aaron was our server and not only did he take great care to explain the prix fixe menu in detail but his service was exemplary. We started with a salmon crostini to open, I had the quail plate for my entree and ended with an almond cake. My wife and son both had the wild char which they loved and my other son had a very good ribeye steak (which I can vouch for). Excellent ambiance and it was nice to see Chef Estevan walking around ensuring that his guests were enjoying their dinner. We will return to Estevan’s when we come back to Santa Fe.
Really love the atmosphere of this restaurant!! A real fireplace and so much charm!
The food is always delicious! The chocolate torte special was amazing!!!
Very good food especially the pozole
Fantastic way to celebrate Christmas Eve !
Best food in Santa Fe .
