We had reserved an outdoor table and arrived just after a light rain shower. We were greeted gruffly by the owner of the restaurant. I inquired about the possibility of having the patio seating. He seemed visibly annoyed that I inquired about the possibility. The waiter was very capable, knowledgable and friendly. The bus boys seemed fearful of what appeared to be the head waitress. She came by our table and said this is good and the next table she said loudly in front of the patron that this was not acceptable. It appeared she was attempting to train him, but in my opinion, it was done inappropriately. We asked our waiter about the patio and if would open could be moved to that location. She interrupted him while he was speaking to us and curtly advised us that the cushions were wet and it was unlikely that we would be moved there but she would keep us updated. The food was good, lamb chops and the chile relleno appetizer. I would pass on the tres leches cake though.
This restaurant is under rated - it is an excellent dining option for those looking for excellent food in a wonderful setting. The flavors of the dishes highlight the locally sourced fresh ingredients.
The food was not horrible but it did not knock my socks off. I will say the sauces that were served with each dish were very good. It just kind of fell flat for my. The service was great and the ambiance was good. I probably will not go back. Well maybe for lunch.
Everything was great and service was excellent.
From the moment we were greeted and seated on the patio outdoors by Laetitia, we were welcomed and given such attention and care it felt like a private exclusive dining experience. It was the best given the wonderful chips and salsa on the table, to the smooth margarita, trout dinner, and fabulous flan dessert. The service was meticulous and timely, non-intrusive and just right. This is a pearl of a restaurant. Thank you.
Love that they use paper bags and not plastic for takeaway!
Wish there was an option for 10 stars because our dinner at Estevan deserved it. The menu was unique, the food was spectacular and the service was unmatched. Could not possibly have had a better experience. Eight thumbs up from the four of us!
Love the baby corn they serve that is in season for a very short time!
The pasta bolognese is wonderful very balanced sauce!
I am sorry to have to write such a great review....may not be able to get a reservation in the future. This place is great, best lamb I ever had (lived in CO for 56 years so I had lots of lamb). I would highly recommend this restaurant over any other in Santa Fe.
One of the best meals I've ever had in Santa Fe.
What a wonderful intimate restaurant. We enjoyed sitting on the patio in a garden setting with great food and ambiance. I highly recommend this restaurant.
The service is very attentive but not overbearing, especially including Estevan & Leticia's welcome personal attention. We most recently were seated at an outdoor balcony table on a beautiful evening....perfect for conversation & casual ambiance. But the indoor dining room is also first-rate.
Food and service were outstanding. Will return on our next visit to Santa Fe . Very convenient location.
Excellent food, service and wine. Nice patio. Tried the off menu items: wild boar and Sockeye Salmon. Both were well prepared; sauces were outstanding. Our first time and we will go again
Just loved my dinner here. Food was very good, staff was lovely and managed to meet some very interesting diners along the way. The place encourages ease of communication!!
I believe it is the best restaurant in town. Estevan is courteous, the staff is great and the food is fantastic.
So addicted to the green chili cheeseburger!!! It is one of my favorites in town!
That with fries and the red chili on the side is to die for!!!
We ate outdoors on a nice balcony with lovely foliage around us. A friend was visiting from out of town and I was looking for some place I hadn't tried that wasn't too expensive. Our server Truitt was attentive, had a good grasp of wines, brought us tastings before we ordered by the glass and was good at making recommendations. We shared several appetizers - all were good. Quite nice for a hotel restaurant.
Superb ,authentic northern New Mexican cuisine . Like no other.
The organic lamb from the farmers market is outstanding! Wonderful flavor!
Hard to not keep going back!
The fresh raw green chili cheeseburger is amazing!
Patio is lovely
The new wine fromOregon they have on the list is incredible!!!
Poor service. Average food at best. Beer and wine only. Not much positive to write about
Excellent outside second floor balcony ambiance that was quiet and had a number of gorgeous potted flowers and was protected from the sun wit large overhead trees. The cuisine was very good and tasty with appropriate portions. As I never have had trout dipped in mild organic corn meal and pan-fried in lemon sauce, I tried it giving it a very good rating especially the lemon sauce. There was a large bottle wine selection, however, a larger wine by-the-glass selection would have been more to my liking.
Absolutely one of the best in Santa Fe!! We have known the chef from another establishment and when we found out he had opened this restaurant we immediately followed him. Waiters are friendly and attentive. Food is exceptional. Atmosphere is relaxed.
You have got to experience this for yourself!
The red chili enchilada ribeye special is delicious!
We suggest ordering from the generous list of dinner specials. The market salad, lightly dressed with walnut oil, was delicious. Equally tasty was the "airline" (attached wing) chicken entree, with a light chorizo sauce, posole cakes and sautéed baby vegetables. Our server graciously accommodated my husband's request to change the chile in his posole from red to green & it came out perfectly piquante, flavorful but not too hot. We highly recommend the goat's milk flan dessert. Nice, reasonably priced wine selection. Service was swift & attentive. All in all, a very pleasant dinner -- we'll definitely be back.
Some of the best food in Santa Fe, hands down. I've been going there for years.
We are from out of town and some friends recommended this restaurant. We were glad we came. The location is close to downtown which is great because that’s where we are staying. The server was super friendly and enthusiastically explaining the menu, which is short but has a variety of choices. I ordered the ribeye special and it was so good. Everyone finished all their food. It was a great dining experience.
Such a great experience to sit on a flower filled patio drinking fantastic sangria!!!
Dinner at Estevan was a wonderful experience. We dined on their 2nd floor patio which was a little tight but very nice with no real issues with street noise. Our server, Truit, was spectacularly good. He knew his food and wine very well and was able to make some great suggestions. The food was also spectacular. I had Estevan’s special enchiladas and I can’t wait to try them again.
The veal was amazing, the sauce was out of this world!!! A wonderful special on the menu!
Great service and selection of entrees (especially for carnivores), cozy ambiance and comfortable noise level. Waiter was very accommodating when we wanted to split an entrée so we could have an appetizer, have salad and dessert; we got to try Taos Ice Cream Co ice cream. Just off the Santa Fe Plaza. This was my second visit and I thoroughly enjoyed both meals.
EVERYTHING about this dining experience was excellent! The setting is lovely, the food most excellent and the ambience one of perfection! Chef Estevan was there to greet people and make sure all was top notch. We are locals who will return and bring guests!
Food was delicious! Excellent! Lovely seating area on the patio outside. I’d highly recommend the small outside patio as the inside wasn’t the same ambiance. Great attentive service and a visit by the chef. We’ll definitely be back!
Spouse had pork bolagnese and I had trout. Very delicious. Ordered calamari appetizer which was outstanding. Great service and ambiance! Would definitely go back!
This is an easy one. There is no liquor so they offer a wine margarita. Do not bother.
The chips and salsa were quite good. The Posole was good but not great. The tomatoes in the tomato salad were too ripe and mushy. The guacamole was simply boring with pasty avocado, mushy tomato and tasteless corn. The ravioli was so rubbery that I only ate 1/2 of one (of 3). A nice waitress asked if I liked it and I said no that it was rubbery. The owner and executive chef, Esteban Garcia, was busy talking to people at the next time, heard what I said and went back to the kitchen. However, as we walked right by him to leave, still hungry, he did not say a word.
A bad night in the kitchen is forgivable but an uncaring owner/chef is unforgivable.
This was the single worst dining experience I have ever had in Santa Fe!
I sent a message directly to the restaurant and heard no response.
Lovely evening on the patio with four excellent and beautifully plated appetizers and an excellent tempernillo.
