My sister was visiting and we took her to Esterel due to the many gluten-free options on their menu. The service was attentive and the food did not disappoint. The chicken soup made with coconut milk was outstanding. The Provencale flatbread was light and delicious. Our son enjoyed his filet mignon, done to perfection as requested. His girlfriend ordered the salmon, which unfortunately had run out, but the server suggested the Tuna Putanesca which she enjoyed. We all indulged in trying the Creme Brulee topped with fresh raspberries which was perfect. We highly recommend this Sofitel-based French bistro.
This was a terrible experience. The manager started stacking chairs while we were eating. Four tables around us we dirty from others who had eaten and left prior to us arriving. The dirty tables were not cleaned off prior to us leaving. Food was cold and almost in edible. Will not return and not worth the 65 per person Easter special.
Literally the worst brunch ever we were so disappointed. The ambiance was amazing but the service and the food were horrible. Starting from when we got there and they told us our table would be ready in a minute. We sat down about five feet from the hostess stand and thirty minutes later I asked her if she thought our table would be ready soon . She actually forgot about us even though we were sitting literally right in front of her. She immediately sat us after I inquired. Then we got our food, Everything was old and dried out. Deviled eggs were turning color and hard, same with all the other items in the eggs area. The salad was just ok. The only thing that was really decent was the dessert unfortunately. We will never be back to eat that is for sure, especially for $200 when we had to go eat on our way home. Huge disappointment...
Easter Brunch was such a disappointment. Food was cold - from the quiche to the salmon and everything in between was bland and tasteless. No effort in creating a special dish, your average buffet that you forget the moment you walk out. Desserts were also basic uninspired cheesecake and cakes.
On a side note - we even found hair on our quiche. Disgusting.
A very underwhelming experience.
Easter Brunch... would not recommend! Horrible set up food was never filled every time went to get something gum on chair that I sat on bus boy as server... called next day to talk with management still waiting for a return phone call going on day 4 when leaving asked the Gentleman at the door how much valet parking was he said oh I’m not sure wait one out asked I thought maybe I asked a customer by accident and said that to him he said no I’m just a doorman I don’t know what the prices are on all pretty inside but would never recommend
Very nice patio and romantic patio !!! Perfect to be outside or a date.
I 'm not a fan of inside dining ( More like hotel style )
Great food and service.
You can also eat at the bar with music
Company Dinner
I told them while I was making my reservation on OpenTable that it was date night without expecting anything. It was just a drop down menu, so I did it without thinking. When they confirmed my reservation, they asked if I wanted them to decorate the table, free of charge. I said why not! When we got there, the table was covered in cute little paper hearts. They also brought us free glasses of champagne and sent us home with six chocolates.
The food was fantastic and the ambiance was great. Our serve was French and very kind. However, my friend and I noticed that the manager went and greeted every table but ours in the dining room. We weren’t dressed too down or were drunk or loud so not sure the reason. Otherwise good experience
Great food and service. Brunch menu has a great selection. Ask for your Bloody Mary spicy.
I have a feeling this used to be a better spot that is either altogether not quite as good anymore or just isn't totally on during early-mid week. Food is fine. Tuna tartare is an interesting/different recipe that's just not quite amazing. And the Esterel salad is good . . . ish. The French wine selections are nice. Service was friendly, but not incredibly personal. The food is not the most expensive, but it certainly is not cheap.
Had an upset stomach after dinner... way below my expectations...
Inside the sofitel hotel
Was not made aware that there was a set menu and price for Valentine’s Day. I was very surprised. We don’t drink alcohol so it was a very bad value for us. Food was excellent. Service was excellent. Nice ambiance.
The food was simply amazing. The ambiance was as well. Their were rose on the table and nice candles. The server was amazing and attentive and the entire team helped each other as if they rehearse it daily! Amazing place. Even the valet was great, attentive, professional, and fast!
First of all I would like to say that I'm not usually the one to write a bad review, however I was very disappointed at The quality of food, it was almost offensive. Service was great, but that by itself doesn't make up for the Poor and low quality food served at a restaurant. Zucchini beignets were tasteless and inedible. Octopus was tender however it was burnt to a crisp. Risotto and french fries were decent, however still greasy. The dipping sauces were spot on, the only plus to cover the taste of low quality food and basic cooking skills. For a hotel of that caliber I would of expected perfection. Server was very pleasant and was willing to accommodate, the manager was called over and she asked to substitute to make up for the disappointment. Don't waist your time and money. There are many others great choices nearby.
Lovely on the patio, and the brunch was more than ample.
Loved the colors and decor, food was fantastic but service was exceptional. Marta and Sandra are fantastic staff members and took great care of me and my guest.
Horrid food.
The dinner was buffet style for Christmas. Would have been a great dinner, but the buffet was not very well organized. Staff we friendly and the table service was good, but the food was not hot and the flavor certainly was not worth the price.
I can't recommend this restaurant for a regular meal I was there for Christmas ...buffet was nothing special
Pretty good food, rather limited menu, very chaotic service
Thanksgiving
We wanted to celebrate Thanksgiving at a special venue. I have driven by this hotel for years and never frequented this site. When I read an email, promoting the best restaurants for Thanksgiving in Angeles /Beverly Hills and saw the word "buffet", we were hooked. We read reviews and made our reservation. And what a terrific choice. Best wine, artisan salads , and delicious entries were presented. And an assortment of fine French desserts topped off a fabulous evending. The entire wait staff were so professional and hospitable. Truly a superb experience.
This time we were here for the delightful Thanksgiving buffet. Staff friendly and helpful. Food delicious! They did not mention, 6 or more they add the gratuity automatically. We ended up tipping twice.
Poor service for thanksgiving brunch..limited options
Just had a thanksgiving brunch with my family there. Great food, outsatanding service, beautiful patio. You will hear loud sirens (police or 911 ) time to time but everything else were absolutely wonderful.
Lovely French-inflected California cuisine in a beautiful setting, with lots of artwork and a serene patio garden. Perfect Thanksgiving buffet.
The environment and food was great. I took a friend for a birthday celebration and he loved it.
Great service, quiet restaurant, but average food. The mushroom risotto we got was cold, the waiter was kind enough to send a new one but it tasted burnt the second time. The mango mouse looked better than it tasted. The flatbread and tomato soup and mac n cheese were delicious.
Dissapointed
Fruits spoiled , coffee not hot , food tasteless , order mistake cause delay
Martha our host was amazing
Very nice ambiance, beautiful garden patio with much appreciated heaters. Interesting and unusual menu options. The food was good, but a bit over flavored for me. The service is excellent. There's a lot of street noise on the patio, especially because of the nearby hospital, but overall it's a great spot.
Not what I spected... The terrace is beautiful, but the food not so great.
Overall this was okay. The food was good but neither of our meals was worthy of talking about. The best things we ate were the Stuffed Portabello appetizer (FYI, it is just one mushroom so you have to share it) and the Bomba we had for dessert (which was a deliciously fabulous sphere concocted of vanilla and chocolate ice creams dipped in chocolate and topped with a fruit compote - yum!). My friend's mushroom risotto was "good but not great - I've had better", and my salmon was tasty and well prepared, however, the accompaniments were overcooked. The potatoes were dry and hard like they had been cooked and reheated a few times too many.
Overall, the restaurant is beautifully-adorned and is well-suited inside the fancy Sofitel hotel. Sadly, the food is just not as fancy as the dining room.
They gave us 2 different menus with differing item listed as gluten free on either menu. When asked to specify and modify my dish, they assured me it was no problem yet proceeded to give me a dish with ingredients that were not gluten free. There were cockroaches running around the ground. The manager was unapologetic and when we said we didn't even want to see the desert menu because we were so creeped out, he simply said "understood". For as nice of a hotel as the Sofitel is and for the prices of the food, it certainly left a lot to be desired. Will not be returning.
Delicious lamb racks amazing staff and host I truly had a great time after a long motorcycle ride with a friend I have not seen in a while :) thank you for the out door seating 🥂
The staff was very helpful and accommodating for my out of town guests. Le Jardin is a great outdoor space right in the middle of the city. I will return and I recommend it.
Inacceptable pour le restaurant d'un Sofitel
The location is great and the patio beautiful but the food is not really good and the cocktails very bad... what a shame
