One word: sublime. We could not have had a better experience—believe the hype!
I took my husband to Estela for his birthday. Loved it! The food is creative and delicious. The staff are wonderful. The vibe is friendly and energetic. Will definitely return.
Noisy, overcrowded and no American wine. Limited and confusing menu. Food not to our liking
One of the best meals I have ever had! Impeccable service and a low key, comfortable atmosphere that was perfect for catching up with old friends.
Amazing! Great food & cocktails. Burrata! Lamb chops, ricotta dumplings!! The chocolate cake is outstanding, the best Ever!
We were in NY for a wedding, and Estela was the bride and groom's restaurant pick for our lunch with them. All the food was delicious, terrific layering of flavors, and lovely presentation. The endive salad with toasted walnuts was the favorite of the table. Our waiter was knowledgeable and patient. Our only complaint was the noise level. Even with some vacant tables, conversation was difficult. That said, we're ready for a return visit the next time we're in town.
Awesome dinner with interesting flavor combinations. Staff very well versed on wine list and menu. A special night out!
Very disappointed as we dined on mothers day. Although we were sat very quickly we waited almost an hour for our entre. It was as if we were forgotten between handoffs of waiters and eventually the waiter apologized and shortly we received our food. The mothers day menu was sparse and they did not have several of the items on the menu. The food was very good that we ordered, very small portions beware. I will try them one more time to experience some of the full menu and hope for a shorter wait.
This brunch was outstanding, every bit as good as all of the reviews suggested. I very much look forward to returning for dinner sometime. And yes, if you’re there for brunch: get the egg, pancetta & avocado sandwich.
I’m saddened to say I was disappointed with this outing. The wait staff in the dining room was great and did a great job of explaining everything. My experience got off to a “Meh” start when I was the first customer there and was asked to wait at the bar because my date had yet to arrive. This is fine, I suppose, the hostess wasn’t rude about it but the bartender was less than enthusiastic about everything while I was there. Our interaction was short, kind of curt, and the drink I received was just ok. Part of the cocktail experience, in my opinion,is getting something that looks appealing and tastes like it. The interesting sounding mezcal cocktail, was very very plainly presented and a bit too spicy, for my palate. The bartender never checked in with me again, even though the most people she was serving while my time at the bar rose to three.
Dinner, was just ok too. I was really hoping to get blown away, but I wasn’t. I enjoyed the small portions and interesting flavor combinations, but nothing we had stood out to us. Perhaps we came on an off night? Perhaps the cocktail experience at the bar influenced the rest of my mood, but I can’t say that I’d recommend or come back again. I’m glad I checked it out though.
Special night with my wife , we were seated right away ( table reserved but arrived 15 min earlier ) . We felt pushed to decide what to drink and eat. I rejected the first bottle of wine and the lady in charge of the wine ( not really a sommelier) just said the would bring something else without asking if I wanted to see the wine list again . Then she poured the wine without opening the bottle in front of us or even asking if we agreed with her choice . I felt I could not reject a second bottle .
The food is very good but the noise is awful ... You are seated literally 20 cm away from the next table so the level of promiscuity is very high .
Every plate is meant to be sheared , so we asked for 6 . End of the night , 80 US dollar bottle of wine and a total note of 260 u$ . Find it expensive for the service and lack of comfort .
Sensational food but way too noisy. Loud music made it impossible for us to talk which wa a significant minus.
Food is awesome!
Place is a little tight but manageable.
Really great food in a vibrant part of NYC.
Modest venue with some outstanding dishes. The cara cara orange and the pork were our favourites.
SOOOO GOOOOOOOD everything was really tasty!!!!!!!
Always the best!
The food was below average in taste and not worth the money I would gladly pay more if the food was good. Most little farms in the Hudson Valley have much better food. The service and ambiance too were average. DISAPPOINTED!!
Great experience. Quintessential NYC restaurant. Exceptional food in a casual but lively atmosphere.
Casual, cozy and sophisticated, the small but varied menu and excellent wine selection make for a satisfying night out.
The food was great and service was good. But the restaurant is slightly on the dim side and slightly too Cosy for my liking. It was difficult to talk and enjoy. It would be great for group outing as the restaurant is slightly loud for my liking
The lighting and music volume - perfect (and those are the two important factors. The servers were knowledgeable and on top of it. The hostess a doll! Food much better than you think it will be. Perfect for sharing at a normal pace.
Second visit and did not disappoint. The endive is particularly excellent, and the ricotta dumplings melted in my mouth. The burrata was delicious, as always as was the steak tartare. The chocolate dessert was delicious too. My one disappointment was they didn’t have a Chardonnay - and the wine is expensive. But I will still be going back.
We found the food to be absolutely fresh, delicious and creative. Unfortunately the portions were both tiny and very expensive. We will not be rushing back but would recommend it for the food.
Great staff, good food.
Thanks to the kitchen for the great food of course but also to our server Alex who was charming.
While flavor of the food is on point, the pricing in relation to the portions is more than lacking.
The best dinner I’ve had in New York !
Brunch- food was awesome. Very unique.
The food was really good all the way up to the deserts they just tasted strange and we like when food is a little bit twisted. Service were good until the end also were our waitress totally lost us for no reason at all.
Loved the food. The service was amazing! Will come back for sure. Thanks for the great experience overall Estela!!
I am sorry to say that it was so loud and noisy in this restaurant , that we could not enjoy the food nor could we talk to anyone at our table... I would not recommend this place to anyone..
A fantastic NYC experience. Great food, atmosphere and service. I love this restaurant.
A little dark in back corner near wine bottles. We’re tucked in a cozy area but could not see food or menus away from lighting of larger area. Best meal and service ever!!!!!
Good but noisy
Great meal once again. And they were very accomodating to my kids. Thanks.
Just eat here man, be ready to have a great time but know that you’re either balling out or you’re having a very light meal
I had high expectations based on reviews and my prior visit, but food was sub-par.
I ordered almond nuts, stake tar tar, ribs, stake and dumplings.
Everything other then stake was mediocre.
we were seated, then host came over to ask what name was under my reservation as if gearing up to kick us out.
At the end the server spilled wax all over my coat -- not intentional and I didn't realize the extend of coverage until I got home, but definitely added to my aggravation.
