I remember the bar/dining area from my childhood and it hasn't changed too much. I saw a review that called it "stuffy" or "dated" but I loved the Sinatra-vibe. ( Bartender in black bow tie!)The bar round bar is beautifully maintained and the 3/4 wall-windows with view to the grounds is lovely. I saw that the leather bar chairs were new, and thankfully they kept that 1950s style going. Everything about the original décor was done with such excellent materials, I would hate to see it go. I would instead play up even more that special retro feel--it sets Estate 169 apart from all the cookie-cutter places around. The service was very personal and quite excellent and the food good. The quality put into the original building is excellent, I hope they continue with the same high standards in any updates or renovations along the way. Fun evening :)
Once we entered we were....mistake.....then we sat(no hostess yet reservation are required????) our server was fantastic , friendly and helpful. It definitely an older crowd...Sinatra and celebration ..., the food is surprisingly awesome!!!! Tuna was cooked perfectly not overdone with wasabi potatoes that were crispy and light brown... my steak was a perfect medium rare... actually rare in the middle.!!! Like I said the atmosphere is in need of help but the service is great and the food better...
Haven't been there in many years and found the grounds and bar area as impressive as remembered, We had a drink at the bar , spoke to a friendly bartender ( Nick) and were about ready to find our reserved dinner table . All were adjacent to the bar. We sat and wondered if the LOUD nearby music would be toned down for dinner. It was not. My, wife's steak was " very good." My macaroni dish was flat tasting and soupy. The bread would have been great if heated more and covered along with butter. The workers and owner seemed accommodating , yet not my best experience- by far.
We went here for a college graduation dinner only to be the only nine in the room under 70 and seven of our guests were 22. The food was really poor quality but still very expensive. There was loud music playing for the very senior crowd to dance too so we could barely hear each other talk. I'm sure this is a delightful place for the local senior citizens but not a place I'd ever recommend for others.
WE WERE DELIGHTED TO DISCOVER THIS RESTAURANT. IT WAS VALENTINES WEEKEND. THE TABLES SITUATED NEXT TO FLOOR TO CEILING WINDOWS OFFERED A NICE VIEW OF THE COUNTRY CLUB GROUNDS. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT. BANG BANG SHRIMP WERE CRISPY AND NOT TOO HOT. MY RIBEYE WAS COOKED TO PERFECTION,EXACTLY AS I REQUESTED. MY FIANCE HAD MEDITERRANEAN CHICKEN, ALSO EXCELLENT AS WERE THE GREENS. OUR BARTENDER BROUGHT MY PERFECT MARTINI TO THE TABLE HIMSELF WHICH WAS A NICE TOUCH. THE DESERT MENU LOOKED GREAT BUT WE DID NOT PARTAKE. WE WILL CERTAINLY VISIT ESTATES AGAIN.
This restaurant was a gem of a find -- we had a large group but did not want to be rushed or crowded. And we wanted good food. This restaurant was perfect. We sat by the enormous windows overlooking the gorgeous green golf course and were treated to exceptional service by Andy, our waiter, who was attentive but not overbearing. He was always there at the right time and was very patient with us. The food was excellent and much better than you might expect at a golf course restaurant. We would highly recommend Estate at 169.
Wonderful evening and beautiful setting make a night at estate 169 one to remember.
Everyone was friendly and the food was delicious. There is a great view.
What a terrific venue for a special occasion. This restaurant, with its large picture windows (every table is a window table), overlooks the well manicured golf course in which it sits. The food matches the view in quality, quantity and presentation. We had the Moroccan Shrimp which included spiced large shrimp and fresh pineapple, as an appetizer--terrific! The curried shrimp and scallops was smashing and the free-range chicken with mashed sweet potatoes and spiced apple rings was as delicious as innovative. You must try this place when you are in Utica. You won't be disappointed.
Food and service was great nice touch with live music and great view of the 18th hole. What else could you ask for.
