The food and the experience were average because there was inconsistency. We went on a Sunday night and the restaurant was at about 50% capacity. My filet was tough and rubbery, the house specialty sirloin was burned, other cuts were delicious. The shrimp was perfection, pork ribs were nice, etc. Sometimes the same cuts were inconsistent. I went with one other person and my garlic steak was delicious, his piece was 75% fat. The salad bar was very fresh and has a wonderful assortment. Bread was hard and full of air. I’ve been to Brazil several times, it should be soft, dense, and chewy. Most sides at the table were unfortunate. Potatoes were bland and the polenta was greasy. But the fried bananas were delicious. The table staff is attentive, friendly, kind, and gracious, fantastic service. Always there with fresh water, more side dishes, fresh plates, ready to find you the meat you want if it hasn’t come to your table yet, etc. Some of the best service I’ve experienced. There are an abundance of people helping the tables, so they are immediately there if you want anything. Unfortunately the people who carry the meat often ignored our red cards (which means you don’t want more meat at the time) which made conversation difficult. The deserts looked wonderful, but I didn’t have an opportunity to try one because after asking for a desert menu, I got the check instead and didn’t feel like staying longer for the correction.
Warm, inviting and impeccably clean dining area. I know this restaurant would be great fun for a bigger group, a celebration, and terrific for people who have never been to any Brazilian Steakhouse.
I also had Thanksgiving at this restaurant and the consistency was significantly better. The staff was wonderful even with every table full. The good thing about Thanksgiving is you get a card with a free meal with the check.
This is the second time I’ve been here. The first was on New Years Eve for lunch with a party of six. Things went so well, three weeks later I took my brother for lunch for his birthday. The food is excellent. The service is outstanding! If you are looking for a new dining experience with a huge selection of food that you get to try, THIS IS THE PLACE! Don’t let the word Brazilian in the name of this place make you feel like the food is gonna be different or strange. You’ve got everyone’ favorites here from grilled shrimp to ribeye, to ribs, filet mignon, etc .... the list is long.... Parmesan pork, ....an insane salad bar too!!! Just go! You’ll like it!!!
The restaurant was optimized to allow for the most tables possible, while supporting the least wait staff possible. It was very loud, crowded, and you had to actively get a waiter's attention for EVERYTHING. For $50/person, I expected a nice date night with my wife, and instead I felt like I was at an expensive Golden Corral. The meats tasted fine, but they weren't anything special. Will not be going back.
This was not at all what I expected. I had reservations and they put us right in the middle of everyone hitting our chairs. We only got 3 options throughout our dinner. 2 servers said they would be back with well done and it never happened. My man didn't really eat. He was not impressed at all. I will not go back.
Service was great as always. Food started off good, we arrived at 7:30, they close at 9 so the last cuts of meat were not good, not as thin and a bit dry, literally the last pieces on the skewer. We have been there many times and have never had any issues, next time i will be sure we don'tgo near closing time. My end result/ last pieces of food did not satisfy.
Great place for special occasions. We always use it for birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions. However we noticed that there was a great change on the bananas and polenta, and potatoes. We had 7 people on our table. We got 2 small platters of potatoes. Each looked like it was 2 tablespoons of potatoes on it. 2 platters , each with 2 small bananas and looked like one slice of polenta sliced into 4 strips. WHATS UP WITH THAT. For the price we are paying, which seems to be higher, there shouldn’t be a need to cut back on these items. Other than these concerns, everything else is thumbs up.
Fantastic meal with impeccable service. We went for my husband's birthday and they treated us like royalty. They brought out the most wonderful creme brûlée for dessert with a candle and the manager even came by with two glasses of champagne for us. We loved everything about the evening.
This was my first experience at Estancia and the service was outstanding! Before we could even ask for something our waiters already had what we needed. Every person that we came into contact with was exceptionally nice. I cannot recommend this place enough! We will definitely be going back!
Easily and undoubtedly one of the best dining experiences I've had. The service is next level and crazy fast/consistent. They make you feel like you're the most important guests there. The staff/servers/cooks were AMAZING. And the meat? OMG. To just call it "meat" feels insulting...I ate art for the tastebuds. I'm going again this week- 2 times in 5 days. I think I'm in love.
We went for our anniversary and were amazed at the variety and quality of the food offered! We had at least one of everything (meat, cheeses, salad bar items), and they even helped us celebrate by giving us one of the best strawberry cheesecakes we’ve ever tasted. We will absolutely find a reason to celebrate there again.
Great service, options were limited. Salad bar is very sub par compared to it's competitor- Fogo De Chao. The bar service was not great as drinks were being made ahead of time and not enough people were ordering, therefore the drinks were diluted. I would not recommend this place for its price point.
Busy night. Great service. Lack luster salad bar with poor quality cheeses and paltry offerings compared to other similar establishments. Uneven meat preparation: pork overdone, lamb nearly cooked, ribeye chewy not tender. Kitchen behind in getting out new skewers so long wait for meat. Not a good experience at all. Establisment pricing to other similar restaurants equal but quality below expectations.
I typically love Estancia I think they blow Fogo and any other out of the water, however new years eve was a big miss for me. Long waits for the meat, the restaurant was over seated by a lot which caused a lot of the problems, I was very close to strangers and it was rather uncomfortable. The food was of course excellent but having to wait almost an hour before getting any filet or picana was not good.
First time at this place on New Year's Eve. Food was decent but nothing spectacular. I've had better Brazilian food before. Not sure if it was because it was a holiday or that's just how the restaurant is but the overall dining experience was just okay for me. Not sure I'd be back- failed to meet my expectations, unfortunately. On a scale of 1-5, I'd give this place a 2.5/3.0. I'm on the hunt now for better Brazilian food here in Austin.
I wouldn’t recommend it for New Year’s eve dinner. I went with my family, we were a group of five and it was very full. We made reservations and we were seated promptly, but the service was terrible. We had to wait a long time for our drinks and for the side items to be replaced on the table. When they finally were replaced, the mashed potatoes were cold! There were times we didn’t see our waiter for a very long time. My daughter ordered a 2nd glass of champagne and never received it. We’ve been to this restaurant before, and the service was a lot better. I’m hoping this is just because it was New Year’s eve.
We have dined at the Estancia Churrascaria many times and have always enjoyed it. This time we were there for New Year's Eve and were somewhat disappointed. The food was excellent, as always, but the service was not good. It seemed that there were not enough servers for the number of tables they had, and as a result the service was incredibly slow, even for a very busy night. We had to ask three or four times for bread (the wonderful cheese rolls) for the table, and did not end up receiving it until we were finished with the meal. We were never asked if we wanted another drink, and our water glasses were never refilled. We waited more than 30 minutes for the bill after we requested it. All in all, a rather frustrating and disappointing experience.
Let me first say, I love this place and I will go back, not on a holiday. Ever. There was a bit of confusion about our reservation, that was resolved very quickly, so far so good. I have been a fan of Estancia since they were in south Austin. The one thing that set them apart was their impeccable service, for the first time that was lacking. I had to ask for water, no help at the salad bar and after the initial pass, very difficult to get the meat servers. So disappointed. We felt very rushed. I will try again on a regular night and see if the magic returns. Fingers crossed.
The food and ambiance was fine and as expected, even though dinner has gotten quite expensive and I don't think it's necessarily worth it anymore. What did disappoint was the fact that I had reserved with a message that it was my child's birthday and then reminded them again when I got there, so they would sing to him, maybe bring him a treat. They assured they would. After the bill came I remembered they never came to us, so I told the manager and he said , "well we are too busy." After our table spent almost $400 there you would think they could make time for a quick birthday song for my boy. Tradition was to come for every birthday but we might not anymore after this.
This was my husbands and mine second time eating at this restaurant. We were excited to bring along a friend who had never eaten here after the exceptional service and high quality of food we experienced on our first visit. We expected the same high level of service we experienced the first time only to be greatly disappointed. Although, our cards were faced green side up, our table was repeatedly passed up by the servers. At one point we had to actually wave our arms in the air to get a server to stop and serve us.
I don't know why our table was continuously overlooked but it made our visit less than enjoyable.
Our dirty plates were also not cleared off our table in a timely manner and when it came time to pay our bill, we had to wait over 20 mins until the transaction was completed.
A total waste of our time and money and will stick to Fogo de chao from now on.
I think the servers lacked training and it showed in the poor service we received.
