The appetizer & entrees were delicious! But the sides that came with the entrees were odd choices & tiny. There were more stems than broccolini. And my date's farrow was watery. I've made farrow & that is wrong. Good thing we were there to enjoy ourselves no matter what because our waiter was so bad. We didn't even find out his name . He handed us our bill paper clipped to a review card (Classy!) and said he needed all the help he could get. I can't disagree with him. Not even a leather bill holder or tray! He never smiled either. I wanted to ask for a different section right off the bat. Such a contrast to the fabulous service we got at Ruth's Chris.
Excellent meal and time before Jesse Cook at Crest!!!
Great food & service! Reasonable wine markup. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner!
Dinner before Giselle at Sacramento Ballet. We both had the winter squash soup -- very tasty -- and stuffed eggs that were nothing special. I had a pork chop: huge and perfectly cooked. Esquire Grill seems to scrimp on the veggies; what was on my plate was nowhere near a standard "serving." My friend tried the special: prosciutto-wrapped cod -- a weird choice for her and for the restaurant. Her comment: What was the point?
A final note: the coffee was awful.
Great lunchtime experience. Yummy food. Wonderful service!
Great food and service!
We made reservations on open table and the restaurant called to confirm and no mention was made of it being a fixed price menu with only 2 choices for Valentine’s Day at $75 per. Would have liked option of regular menu...
Valentines date. It was $75 per person no matter what you ordered that's what sucked :/ and their scallops my husband didn't like as well as the meat they brought in was very pink ( we don't enjoy showy red or pink) but over all it was good a bit pricey and loud!
Quantity of food appeared a little light, but i was pleasantly surprised. I will recommend it to others
Absolutely delectable and fabulous food! Great service; will definitely return again!!
The service was attentive and on spot.
The prime rib tough and tasteless. The over cooked and bitter.
Service and food were great. It was noisy when we arrived but after the theater attendees left, it was quiet. Later, more patrons arrived, but the level remained quiet and easy to hear those at our table.
Have eaten here before and would recommend again.
Aa great time to go is before a show art the convention center,
Food was excellent, but our waiter was quite sarcastic and very slow.
This a first-class restaurant with a very profession and friendly staff. The food was enjoyed by everyone in my party. It's a perfect place to dine before attending a show at the Crest Theatre, just a couple of blocks down the street.
Always excellent in service & food!
Absolutely the best steak I’ve had! Tremendous meal!
The only real problem was that our servers mixed our meals up. We had different temps on our steaks but the same meal. I was not thinking about it and I ate my wife's steak. Not a big deal, just something for the servers to think about.
Kristina was an outstanding waitress and took care of all needs
The service and food were both excellent. Kurt Spataro is listed on the menu as the Executive Chef, Spataro was one of my favorite restaurants so I was thrilled to find him.
Excellent food and great suggestions from our waitress!
Good variety and excellent quality. Convenient to theatre and servers sensitive to showtimes. Only complaint is with noise level.
Took app. 25-30 minutes to get our food and when it came it was cold so we had to get it reheated. When we were done we both used the restrooms and they were out of order due to flooding on the floor. Overall a very bad experience.
New Chef, new menu, several additions and specials. Great evening out with wife, daughter and her boyfriend. Our favorite restraunt and then catch a movie at the Esquire IMAX. Excellent food and wonderful evening. To top it off we had the best server in town. Always treated as family.
We had cocktails which were good, while waiting for our table (we got there early). The service was very pleasant and efficient. I had a hamburger with choice of salad, fries or soup for $18 (I think that was about the price). It was very good: fresh bun, thick juicy patty, slice of tomato, fresh lettuce and red onion. Fries were a little bigger than shoestring, which I like. I couldn’t finish them. My friend had petrale sole, which she said was good. It was about $22. We were going to the theater which started at 8:00, and they got us through with plenty of time to spare (6:30 reservation).
My friends and I frequently go to Esquire Grill, and we have never been disappointed. The food is always so flavorful, and the servers are very knowledgeable. They've never steered us wrong with their recommendations or answering our questions about a dish. Esquire Grill is one of our favorite places.
Always a favorite of ours when we attend Sacramento Community Theatre.
Excellent dinner. Waiter missed placing water and bread. Other than that very good.
Valet service was convenient but only one valet made confusion and delay dropping off and getting car .
We really enjoyed the Esquire Grill. The service was very good, the food was delicious.
Only the noise level was high and the prices are somewhat expensive, but overall, it is a perfect place to eat before going to a concert at the Community Theater across the street.
Great for pre-theater dinner. Close to theater and parking and good food.
