Esquina Latina Restaurant & Lounge
Don't forget your family and friends as Esquina Latina is perfect for all occasions.
The food was great! The Patacon Sliders appetizer was excellent. The music and decor make for a very pleasant visit, the ambiance is great in this place.
1- restuarant was cold
2-bathroom (men's ) was not very clean and no lock on the handicap stall
3-table for 2 was too small for our food
4-tables cramped together- i was continually getting hit by customers going to the bathroom
5-ordered sangria without strawberries (i am allergic)- got strawberries
6-next glass had a lemon in it with the sticky barcode on the lemon peel in my glass
7- stuffed porkchop drowned in gravy/onions and porkchop was overcooked
recommendation_ save your money for another place to eat!!!
Enjoyed the Chevice, Sangria, Ropa Vieja and Paella. Wait staff all courteous and prompt. Will go again with friends
Good ambience and service.. the Dj was very good .. good music..
Great drinks, food and service. We will definitely be going back!
Amazing food and staff! Good spot for a date night.
Very good place to celebrate any event, great food and music and the service, outstanding!
Food was very good. Empanadas are amazing. Paella was delicious. The service however was awful. The server brought us the wrong appetizer corrected her error and then charged us for it. She repeatedly forgot to refill drinks. It seemed like because the tip was already added to our bill she didn’t try to provide us with good service.
Absolutely loved it! My wife loved the sangria sampler. Beautiful hostess/waitresses. A wonderful time. We allowed an hour and 45 minutes for our meal before the show at the State Theatre. We had to grab the bill quickly as we used up all our time. We never felt rushed and the meal (apps, main and dessert) was nicely paced. Oh. No espresso though!! AHHHH!!! That wouldve hit the spot!! A perfect-10 rating gets knocked down to a 9.9.
Great food and atmosphere
Our service was excellent. There were 2 that didn’t care for their meals. One person in our group ordered a seafood dish with rice, lobster, shrimp and mussels. There was more rice than seafood. There were 3 small shrimp and the lobster piece was also very small. The other dish was ribs and they were tough. The other 9 meals were fine.
I wanted to bring in a birthday cake. However they wanted to charge us a $2 cutting fee per person. I think that is outrageous.
We were celebrating a 50th birthday party.
We had some drinks and some apps. We weren’t rushed and we had a great time.
It took too long to bring us the drinks and sat us right in front of the dancing floor, too crowded. Too loud music! Its more luke a club than a restaurant.
Food is tasty, good drinks but service is a tad slow. I'd recommend though.
We loved Esquina Latina! Food was delicious, large servings for a great price. Waitress was very helpful in suggesting dishes.
It was my birthday. We had a large party and everything we well. Thanks!
Wonderful, from the moment we were greeted to the time we parted ways everything was superb. I highly recommend the food was fantastic, service impeccable and all around great ambiance . Already planning our next visit.
It was great !!!
Restaurant was easy to find. Right around the corner from the Dunkin Donuts on George Street. The restaurant has a parking lot, but seeing that it’s a wknd night, the parking lot was full. Side street parking available IF you can find a spot. Otherwise, the parking garages 2 blocks away will do. There were birthday parties happening inside the restaurant so the noise level combined with the music was very energetic, but you can still carry a conversation without shouting. Our server Katie was polite and brought our orders out promptly. We both could not finish our meals. Took us a while to locate our server at the end to get take home boxes for our leftovers. The restaurant clears way for a dance floor at 10pm, but we didnt stay for that. Nice Latin spot in New Brunswick. Will dine again
My husband and I decided to try Esquina Latina Restaurant before a show at the State Theater. They did not disappoint. We started with the Cuban Gaucomole which was delicious. For dinner, I had the MOQUECA, which was a Brazilian Coconut Fish Stew. I was in heaven, it was sooo good. My husband had the CHURRASCO, an Argentinean Skirt Steak, equally as good. I would definitely come back to eat here again. The menu has something for everyone and the meals were great!
Esquina Latina is always a great spot for great Cuban food and dancing! At 10pm, the restaurant opens the dance floor, and a live DJ comes and tears the house DOWN! I ordered Arepa y maduros, and my partner ordered the Avacado Salad with beef.
Had a small birthday party for my wife with just some friends. Went for dinner right before the DJ got their dance had a wonderful time. Service was a little slow.
I went to Esquina to celebrate a coworkers birthday it was such a great time. The staff is polite and helpful very clean and moderate fun place. Wish it was a little bigger!! I would definitely recommend to other people and visit here frequently.
Good food. But it took forever to get served.
Colorful vibrant atmosphere with creative Cuban style cocktails.
I go here twice a year and 3 times have been for a birthday. The service and people are fantastic. The food is wonderful. Good sized portions. Real authentic Cuban food. Coming from Hispanic descent I can attest to that. The best.
Great food and drinks, and the atmosphere is awesome!
Friday night, the restaurant was preparing to switch over to nightclub, so it was very loud. But, we asked to move to a quieter part, and we're happily accommodated.
The service was attentive but not intrusive, and the food was excellent!
We had the chicken croquettes and the beef empanadas (incredible), and the chuleta which was a huge portion (we took at least half home).
To drink, we had the sangria sampler (try 4 different sangrias from the dozen or so on the menu), and it was also excellent.
We went for my husband’s birthday and had a ball! The food was delicious. Even though they only offer their tapas menu Monday through Friday evenings, we ended up just order a ton of appetizers for dinner and created our own tapas style dining experience. Our waitress (I think her name was Morgan) was lovely and knowledgeable about he menu can have us great suggestions. Later in the evening they clear space on the floor for dancing which was really fun to watch!
While the entrees I've had are good, though uneven, the tapas are virtually can't miss and a particularly good value during happy hour. The empanadas, guac and chicken bites are favorites. Service is impeccable, and always with a smile, even during the busiest times.
The atmosphere was great. Our waitress was very good. We came with my friends for dinner, drinks, and dancing. I was a bit disappointed because of the music. The DJ played salsa, bachata, and merengue most of the time. I would definitely come back for coconut mojito!
We have always had vey good food here. Our party had sangria and guac to start. All of our main dishes were vey flavorful and good sized. The only complaint was the noise when we got to the restaurant. We have eaten there many times but this time between those enjoying the happy hour and the music the sound in the room was just too loud. We got a table in the back and that was a lot better than the front room.
Music was a bit loud, but waitress was able to lower the volume so that we can hear each other.
MUST TRY - Guc and yucca fries
Skip - ribs
The food was interesting, some different sauces which we liked. My sisters salmon was overdone & she could not get a dry martini after 3 attempts. The bar manager was very accommodating & apologetic.
Friendly service and great food. Energetic atmosphere. Highly recommended.
We had dinner here prior to seeing a show at the State Theater (only a block away). Great location and great food.
It was a great night with great service and food
Our first time there and it did not disappoint. Friendly service, great guacamole, entries bountiful and delicious. Our server was terrific. A great place to go prior to a show at the State Theatre
