We always love Espana. The Portuguese Fisherman’s Stew is one of the best dishes I’ve ever eaten. Their tapas and fresh seafood entrees are also fantastic. The service is outstanding! It’s always a pleasure to see Marina and Roberto. Make your reservation and get ready for a great dining experience!
A must place to have dinner when on Amelia Island.
Had a good meal with large shrimp (best), scallops (good) and grouper (good), good paced service and wine selection, a good value dining experience
Lovely little restaurant that is authentic. Reservation was promptly honored. Service was also prompt. Both of us had paella but of different varieties. Both were delicious. We also both had dessert which was outstanding. I had the tiramisu and my husband had the tres leche cake. Both were amazing. Completely enjoyable dinner. Prices were very reasonable. Would go again
Great food and atmosphere. The staff and service was excellent!
Excellent choice for a local restaurant in Amelia Island.
Must make reservations, as it was VERY busy.
Wish we would've known there was outside dining which was much more romantic!
The food was very good and authentic.
We were on vacation and celebrating our wedding anniversary. I noted that when I made the reservations and was pleasantly surprised with two glasses of champagne when we were first seated wishing us a happy anniversary. My husband and I shared a pitcher of sangria, an appetizer for of calamari and the Paella Rustica - all were very good and enough food for the two of us. Would recommend this quaint restaurant and would return.
As always, España continues to exceed expectations. Fabulous seafood and the largest mussels we have ever had! Truly a gem!
I have been to Espana more times than I can count. Always outstanding, courtesy abounds, and very professional and knowledgeable staff. The food is sublime, and prepared thoughtfully. I HAVE NEVER HAD BAD SERVICE OR FOOD..Ok I made my point...go eat there, and enjoy.
Food was absolutely Amazing! We have been going to this restaurant since they opened! Finally moved to the island and plan to frequent this restaurant on a regular basis! Love every thing they offer! The Sangria is to die for! The fish is fresh! The Paella is amazing! Roberto and his wife are genuine!
We have a tendency to get the chefs special and it NEVER DISAPPOINTS! Justin was a fabulous server who chose the wine for us, the owner came to our table to check on us. It was an awesome meal and experience! This is our favorite restaurant!
Overall the food was good....except the bread...terrible...especially for a spanish restaur
Great food and service.Authenic Spanish food and tapas.Good Spanish wine.Lived it!
I have eaten Spanish cuisine all over North America and Espana in Fernandina Beach is hands' down the BEST. We ate there twice in one week, once as a date night and a second night as a group of 24. Omar, our server, was amazing. There is not a bad dish on menu; we tried almost everything. And, yes, there is supposed to be a crust on the bottom of the paella! This kitchen could teach Jose Andres a thing or two....I know, I've tried his Paella too. Great for Gluten Free, thank you.
Our favorite restaurant on Amelia Island!
Excellent as always, 1st choice in the area every trip.
The food was amazing. Sangria was excellent. Service was outstanding!
I’ve been here multiple times and we took a group 6. We were able to sit outside which positively added to the experience. Service was superior! As always food was excellent.
Espana is one of my favorite restaurants on and off the island. The specials are always fabulous. Just don't wait too late to make a reservation!
This was our final night on the island when we always have a last dinner with two great friends. It was the second visit with Espana within two weeks. Our table this time was not as good as the first. The room had two other groups, both of 8, so the noise level was loud. We shared the Paella as well as had two other tapas. The wait person was slow to arrive. But, we know the place can be and is much better than on this visit. Sorry we could not hear well and that spoiled somewhat our final evening. But, we know the food is always good and inventive, so we will return to Espana when we return to the island in the fall.
Espana is not only my favorite restaurant on Amelia island, it's one of my favorite anywhere. Amelia has the beach, the pool, shopping, and Espana.
Espana is easily one of the best restaurants in Fernandina. The food is always amazing and the staff are exceptional.
We enjoyed our anniversary dinner at Espana in Fernandina Beach. The atmosphere was perfect. The service was great. The food was delicious! I recommend the Paella. We shared an order of Flan for dessert. Yum!
Good tapas with some different variations on Spanish food.
A very enjoyable evening. Noise is modest and the delivery and enjoyment of each tapas selection tends to create a leisurely pace to enjoy both conversation and the food and drinks.
Empanadas were the highlight of the three tapas we ordered. Bread was enjoyable and so was the house Sangria, available with white or red wine. Charming outside dining patio at the back of the restaurant when weather is good. Less suitable for families, I would think, because of price and small, individual tapas dishes rather than large portions to share with children.
Food & service were excellent. Location fits in well with the area
Amazing food at great prices. Paella was well worth it. No kid menu but the chef had a lot of kid friendly options for us.
We had tapas and wine. We went with the recommendations of our waiter. Great recommendations. The outside seating area is very nice as well as inside. Very good Sangria!
Disappointed. This was our third dinner in Fernandina Beach this week and we were expecting great things after an amazing dinner at Burlingame and a very good dinner at Joe's Bistro. Service was poor, and the food was just ok. Definitely don't recommend.
Once again the food was some of the best on the island. The fish was very well prepared and very fresh.
Our second visit in two weeks. We love the paella here. Service was remarkably good considering how busy they were on a Friday night.
Fantastic! Food authentic - staff well trained. Got in by chance one night while on vacation and knew we just had to get back again. 2 of our best meals.
Seafood dishes were extraordinary. While delicious, the fisherman s stew had a bit of pepper heat that in my hot pepper lifestyle was mild but as a dish to be shared was a tiny bit sharp for the Midwestern palate. Not that the recipe should be changed one iota just a warning for the timid. The other seafood dishes we ordered were fantastic as well. Worth a repeat visit.
As always a fantastic meal. The service was Top Shelf and the tapas and Snapper special were excellent.
We had 5 different Tapas plates and we loved it. Great food here.
My wife had the special Grouper and said it was the best meal of the 5 we have had in
Amelia Island. I had the traditional Spanish all meet dish with rice and enjoyed it.
Very attentive service.
We loved Espana! Wonderful authentic Spanish & Portuguese cuisine. We were a group of 3 ladies, 2 sisters celebrating our moms birthday. We had a wonderful waitress that was so helpful. The bread & balsamic was so delicious. We ordered a few tapas & shared a Paella. the angry potatoes were unbelievable! The calamari was so light and yummy. Everything was incredibly homey, delicious and authentic. We would definitely be back again - we tried to go back the next the next night but it was full! Next trip!!
Enjoyed a selection of many of the tapas as well as sangria and a fabulous bottle of wine from Portugal.
3/23/2018 7:15 Reservation. Seated Promptly
Everything from start to finish was 5 Star !
Omar, our waiter had excellent knowledge of the menu and made an alluring offer of the specials for the evening.
The Sangria Salad and the Spanish Blue Cheese salad were both delicious.
We had tapas of Curry Shrimp, Duck Confi Empanadas and Seared Calamari Steak.
All three dishes were Spot On!
The Calamari Steak was super tender and may have been one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.
My entree was a Beef Filet cooked Rare and smothered with Spanish Blue Cheese Sauce.
OMG This was absolutely fabulous.
Desert was Tres Leches Cake and it also was top notch.
Chef Roberto has one of the best Spanish Restaurants I have ever been too.
This was our 3rd visit in the last year. It's interesting and certain dishes are far better than others. Wine and beer only, but that's OK. Just need to know if you're looking for a cocktail.
This time the server seemed preoccupied. He knew his stuff but it appeared he had too many tables to work.
Try it and see if you like it. Its good food, we're just not as thrilled as some of the reviews we've read.
