España Restaurant of Amelia Island Ratings and Reviews
The service was impeccable we were served by Omar. The wait time is reasonable. The prices are very reasonable. We had the escargot, the duck confit empenada and the pressed and grilled calamari steak. OMG all super tasty highly recommended by Tracey and Ricky at Hoyt house
As always our visit to Espana was amazing. The food never disappoints. It’s a true gem and good for any occasion. Thank you for showing my cousin and her husband how wonderful your restaurant is and serving the most delicious food. We left feeling satisfied and happy.
We visited Espana on Valentine's Day for dinner and made our reservations on Open Table prior to arriving from Pennsylvania. Even though we weren't locals, we still received a quiet window table in the corner, as requested. The service was very attentive by "G" and his fellow servers. The highlight of the dinner was the flan dessert, which was outstanding. We also ordered the sea bass special for the evening, which was very good. This is a very popular restaurant, so make your reservations early.
This was my second meal at España and I was disappointed. The sangria and bread and shrimp garlic were excellent But my seafood paella was botched. All the seafood was dried out and the rice burned down to the pot. Halfway through a waiter appeared and took my plate because they have forgotten adding the shrimp to the dish which they added then. Weird. My partners fish&shrimp main course was excellent, however as was the tiramisu and espresso. I should have complained about the paella but I didn’t. I will come back however.
Great service at table. Excellent recommendations by our waiter, and delicious meal. Everything was prepared and presented beautifully. The bread and butter was especially good. I also really loved the sangria, and am picky about sangria. Theirs exceeds expectations. Just sweet enough, but not too sweet. The Malbec was also terrific with our meal.
We went for a pre-theatre meal. Service was quick and friendly. We had the garlic shrimp tapas and shared the chicken and seafood paella for two with a bottle of albarinho. More than enough food and the flavors were outstanding! The noise level was low enough that we were able to carry on a conversation without having to raise our voices. We plan to come back!!
We love the place! The food is excellent and consistent. The sangria is the best we've had anywhere, including in Spain and the chef really knows how to make sauces ...
There are really three different dining areas, plus a small bar. We have been seated in each. The outdoor area is our favorite on a nice evening. The back dining room is quieter than the front where the seating seems closer. Anyway, there are seating options. It is a comfortable, but not fancy restaurant with unique and well-prepared food. I'd recommend it to anyone.
Food and server Omar very good. Our server had every table in the room in which we were seated. On this occasion we waited quite sometime for our dinner. I am sure the kitchen was backed up. It is one of our favorite places to dine. If you have never been, give it a try.
We’ll go back but .......during restaurant week ....the sea bass was truly wonderful and highly recommend it. However while the accompanying side was deliscious the duck was truly awful....tough really tough, cold, tasted days old and reheated several times. We’ll go back because the other dishes we’ve had were deliscious. The duck should have never made it to the menu.
We have been eating at Espana from the first time we came to Fernandina Beach for our 2-month winter break six years ago. It is our go-to place to bring guests, to celebrate an occasion, or just to enjoy a great meal. The Pargo Ole (snapper in a creamy poblano sauce with shrimp on top) is so good I can’t not order it, but they do everything well—paella, tapas, delicious sangria, house salad with palm hearts, everything is cooked to perfection and served by attentive wait staff. This is an award-winning restaurant worthy of its superb reputation!
Our favorite place on Amelia island. The food is always fantastic and always up to the standards that they are famous for. The spicy snapper is loaded with flavor and a nice kick that can sneak up on you. No worries tho, they offer a good selections of big wines that balances it well. A varied menu offering something for everyone. Give Espana's a try and you will return.
Everything was very good with our dining experience. The only 2 things that could be improved on was the lighting was at a low level which made seeing the menu difficult. When I made the reservation I indicated it was a birthday celebration. It was not recognized by the staff. Food was excellent and the service very good.
Our server, Omar, was fantastic! The food was really good, however, the rice in our paella stuck to the bottom of the cast iron dish it was served in. The dish still tasted great, we just wish the rice wasnt stuck to the pan. Everything else was 10/10. Short rib empanadas were amazing!!
