España Restaurant of Amelia Island
Family owned and operated since 2004. The original on Amelia Island!
Amazing birthday dinner! The paella was excellent.
Mandy is always awesome so that along with the amazing food, you can never go wrong!
This tapas restaurant is a great find on Amelia. We ordered the specials ( tapas, soup, and entree) and it was all excellent! Our server, D, was extremely professional and kind. Congrats!
Hi. Everything was great. There was a large party and they were noisy so it was a little hard to chat until they started eating. Ha! An excellent experience even with that.
This isn’t our first time here. Still the same Espana has always been great! Each time as special as the next. Our server Jonathon has made every time special and perfect. This was our 10 anniversary and is was over the top wonderful. Thank you Jonathon and staff.
The food was delicious and the complimentary Cava for our anniversary was a thoughtful touch. However, knowing that it was our anniversary, we were seated in the back of the restaurant, next to a large family with small children, and close to the kitchen where the waiters were conversing rather loudly. There were available tables in the front of the restaurant, and we asked our waiter If we could move, but he either forgot or ignored our request. We also felt rushed because we were told the kitchen was closing at 9:00 pm even though the restaurant is supposed to stay open until 10:00. Despite the good food, I was disappointed with the seating and service on our 30th anniversary.
Great service amazing food and the ambiance was perfect !
Paella was good but needed socarrat, there wasn’t any.. but still a nice place for dinner.
We loved the place it offers creative tapas and good choice of Spanish and Portuguese entrees, as well as paellas.
Had been here previously and had an excellent time. Recently returned and while the food was good and had an enjoyable ambiance, the service from the waiter was definitely poor. He was rude, repeatedly had to return to our table to ask what was ordered, forgot to bring ordered times and had a poor attitude.
Definitely I would recommend Espana Restaurant of Amelia Island to everyone visiting this area. It's delicious and attentive to your every need. I wanted a vegetarian choice and was offered and served the vegetarian paella which was outstanding!! I wanted a spicy sauce to compliment the meal and was given a delicious sauce. My husband had the seafood paella and, although he usually leaves half to take home for the next day, he was in his glory finishing the entire wonderful meal. Our server "Justin" was equally top notch and it was a pleasure having someone like him wait on us. Thank you.
Busy and popular. Paella was burnt and stuck to the pan which was brought to the table. Nice people here, working hard. Owners son spent 20 minutes speaking to the next table with his rear side an inch from me, and while we needed service. We will try it again because with all the good reviews, it was probably just a bad night.
The meals were very good, the noise level was a little noisy due to the footing and walls.
we had an outstanding experience at Espana. Not only was the food first rate, the service was also professional while being friendly and well timed. We would recommend Espana to all of our friends and family. In fact it was recommended to us by a friend.
Unusual food with great flavors. We are eager to go again
Great Tapas menu. Main menu mostly seafood, but nevertheless, delicious.
Paella was amazing, and a sea bass special was fantastic. The tapas were great, especially an eggplant with a wonderful mushroom sauce. Everything was top notch.... and great service too.
Dinner was excellent. I had the spicy grouper and my fiancé had the paella. Both dishes were delicious although the paella was a bit dry.
This was our second visit and it was just as impressive as the first. The fish stew is the best I have ever had - really, no exaggeration. This is a must if you are in Fernandina Beach. Richard
The food and service was very good
Great atmosphere and food. We will definitely go back.
This was another memorable diner at the BEST eating establishment on Amelia Island. Our party of four thoroughly enjoyed a variety of tapas with sangria in an inviting dining environment and the service provided was excellent. We will return to enjoy again and will recommend to all our friends.
Dinner at Espana was delightful. The service was wonderful and water glasses were always filled. The tapas were bigger than small plates and more like appetizers. The pepper and salmon pinxtos and the shrimp ceviche
were very refreshing. The main courses we had were seafood stew and seafood paella and both had an abundance of fish. The only drawback was the white sangria which was very weak.
Our second visit there and on a scale of 1 to 10 it was a 11. They did not disappoint. Wonderful all the way around. We’ll be back!!
Really great food and service. Will definitely be back and will recommend to visitors.
Great service combined with great food. One of our favorites . Fish always cooked perfectly.
I make trips to spain at least twice a year. This place is a great destination for authentic Spanish food.
Way too loud. Couldnt have a conversation with my husband. Had a headache by the end and just wanted to leave
We have dined at España many times and have never been disappointed. The snapper special was superb! I departed from my usual pork tenderloin tapas and ordered the lobster ravioli, which was excellent. The Gambas Mozambique is not to be missed! It's easy to understand why this is the most popular restaurant on the island.
Loved the whole experience!! The food was amazing and the service was top notch!!
We were quite disappointed by the flavorlessness of the food. We expected much bolder, intensive, exquisitely flavorful food, but the only thing we ordered that met expectations was the shrimp in garlic appetizer. The eggplant appetizer was tasteless; even after the chef corrected an omission and re-presented it, the right flavor was not there. An order of lobster ravioli to replace the eggplant was equally disappointing, with only two ravioli on the plate for an exorbitant price of $12.00. The paella was ok, but nothing special. Maybe some of the fish dishes would have been a better choice. Even the cup of tiramisu was bland with neither a strong espresso flavor nor an expected brandy, rum or marsala wine punch. Needless to say, we were not happy paying $100.00, which included the expected 20% tip, for a meal that fell far short of our initial expectations.
From the service to the wonderful bottle of wine to the amazing food, our experience was exceptional. Two of us ordered five topas dishes so that we could have a variety of food and that was a perfect choice. I would definitely recommend and go to the restaurant again!
A lovely place. Food is good and atmosphere is nice.
Excellent food and very good service. A bit pricy.
Food was bland and lackluster. Atmosphere is nice — pretty and Spanish feeling. No liquor just wine and beer which is fine but service was below average with long delay for first drink and generally inattentive and slow. Brought wrong food more than once and just seemed off and distracted.
Excellent service and food! Great prices too. Large menu. Atmosphere was relaxing and inviting
Charming place, fabulous food, wonderful service.
Server Duerte steered us to an exceptionally meal. All were excellent. The shrimp with coconut taps, grouper special and tres leches cake were amazing. España is on our itinerary for Fernandina Beach.
Excellent food, good atmosphere... I will visit again in a blink.
Thankfully I made a reservation at open table because the restaurant was Not accepting walk ins. Busy on a Monday night. Calamari and octopus were great. Our entrees were as good as described. We had a good bottle of wine that was fairly priced
Our waiter Duarrte was excellent
