Escena Lounge & Grill
It was so dead but it took nearly two hours to eat with a party of six. I know we had appetizers but it was a slow experience for literally no one being there. Totally a mehhhhhh experience with slow service. Don’t bother dining on the weekends there
Been here several times during the regular season and enjoyed myself. This time in the off season everything went down hill. My mushroom burger, which I've had before , was not good at all. Meat was dry and tasteless and topped with a strange combination of mushrooms and blue cheese that was green? And the coleslaw was made from mushy broccoli? My friends meals were just OK, nothing more. Would recommend Escena during regular season only.
I have enjoyed dining at Escena several times. It never disappoints. The restaurant and staff consistently deliver great cuisine and service. The location is beautiful and inviting. This time I dined on fresh salmon salad and my partner had the popular fish sandwich. The homemade chips are very tasty too! Always a winner in my book.
Food continues to go downhill, uninspired and good food isn't that hard. Service varies from poor to ok. View is all it has going for itself at the moment.
Took my daughter for her birthday dinner and we had such a beautiful view, good food, and excellent service!
No one was at the restaurant. We were the only table and felt as if they didn't want us there
What a great place to spend a summer evening. The floor to ceiling windows give you an amazing view of the mountains and sunset and the exterior lighting provides amazing ambiance. We had the warm spinach salad, scallops and a burger - all great. Perfect place for date night or dinner with friends.
Go for the iconic view of Mt. San Jacinto and the Santa Rosa mountains while dining from the golf course adjacent terrace. The restaurant grill may have had an off day, but two of the four entrees were delivered incorrectly and had to be sent back. We were then overcharged on the bill, and had to have it corrected. The staff were friendly, and attempted to swiftly correct the errors. The food was unremarkable. I would return only on a rare occasion with out of town guests for the magnificent view and setting.
We had lunch enjoying the views of the mountains in their outdoor dining area, nice selection on menu, excellent service.
One of the best views of the mountains, over the golf course, watching planes fly in and out of the airport. Unfortunately we had to ask to have our table wiped upon arrival--staff didn't seem to notice debris, etc. Recommend Escena for breakfast and lunch. Quite pricey on the dinner menu, all things considered. Love this place!
Firstly, the greeter- slow, very casually dressed, loose hair, no makeup- it was a poor impression to start things off. The patio is starting to look shabby- no obvious floor and seating plan. Service slow, no energy, no pride of service. Food was marginally good. For a beautifully situated restaurant in a prestigious neighbourhood- this venue has slipped since its opening. In a city where style is abundant- there is very little here- almost none. It requires a new discipline in menu, food and service to bring people back. Also saw three tables come in (from the golf greens), not via the main entrance, and they were completely ignored until they left- the hostess wasn't watching for this and the servers ignored them- terrible attitude for a service industry. I will not be returning or recommending no matter how good the views. Very sad- it was once a favourite eating spot.
Always a wonderful setting and food is consistently okay. Service this tome was terrible. We felt bad for the new waiter because he clearly is not meant to be a waiter. Sweet, but inept. Brought and nearly opened a higher priced wine than we ordered. Good thing we caught it before he opened it. Believe this is a one-off experience in light of our previous visits. Setting is the selling point and food very average but reasonably priced.
The service from start to fin ish was very attentive and courteous. The views were stunning. The food was delicious.
Great ambience. Convenient for after-golf meal. Service friendly but slow.
Average menu for lunch....nothing stands out. Service is slow and can be unattentive...price for lunch (no alcohol or wine) with tax and tip $20......ample parking
my favorite lunch spot
Escena Lounge & Grill is one of my favorite dining experiences in Palm Springs. The view, service and food are excellent. I recommend it to all my friends.
If you're looking for one of the best views in Palm Springs, Escena is it. Simply breathtaking. Well worth putting up with the poor service and fair food.
Fabulous patio, very comfortable chairs, view to die for. But we sat for at least 10 minutes before service. Young inexperienced server was very pleasant and once we did see her service improved thereafter. Food was good but not exceptionsl. Prices were fair. Wine and beer fairly priced too.
Anniversary (54) dinner after visiting the Tram and Cabazon Outlet Store’s.
Had the beef/lentil soup --- very good. Honey dew/basil salad also good, as was the pear/pomegranate salad. Two entrees of halibut, a martini and glass of wine --- all good and reasonably priced. Would definitely go again.
We sat at an outdoor table with view of the golf course and water feature. Palm trees and homes. Then mountains in the distance. Amazing food. Terrific service.
Great view, mediocre food, terrible service.
The restaurant is very good and always a nice place to get a good bite and a nice glass of wine. Mike and Luis are the greatest servers in Palm Springs for sure.
Escena Grill has an outstanding patio with views of the golf course and landscape - the food is good and service is friendly and accommodating. The inside seating is also very comfortable and many window tables also offer great views of the golf course and sunsets. Highly recommended.
Everything was great
Excellent venue with spectacular views of the golf course and mountains. Always a beautiful place to take visitors for the Palm Springs experience.
I don't get the bad reviews. It's one of the best views in Palm Springs. I do miss the complimentary potato chips! but the service is still good, the food while not groundbreaking, is satisfying and well prepared and presented. The servers are generally good to excellent. All things considered, I give it 4.5 stars.
Fantastic location, beautiful building, good food. Friends who come to town once/year requested this restaurant. Special plus, several exotic cars pulled in after lunch--what a special treat. We come here often.
I had eaten there before, for lunch, and enjoyed the salads. So when I brought my family there for dinner, I expected the same quality and good service. Neither was present. The burgers (which were ordered medium rare) arrived charred, gray and dry. None of the drinks was refilled. The server arrived, clearly preoccupied with something else, and seldom returned. We could hear him yelling at his subordinate across the nearly-empty dining room. Maybe it's OK for an after-golf round of drinks but I wouldn't return for a real meal.
A beautiful setting with a great view of the golf course and mountains beyond. Everything went downhill from there. The waiter could not have been more inattentive--almost rude. We had to ask for every refill. No eye contact what so ever. He asked how everything was as he ran by with his back to us I put my hand up and started to speak, but he was already at the next table. The order was served incomplete, but the bill included all. The burger ordered "medium" came very well done, dry and tasteless. Try that with an empty glass of iced tea. I've turned my back on this place.
Was seated and Waited for 30 minutes with no acknowledgement from anyone. When we left and told the hostess that no one came to the table to acknowledge us she just shrugged. Awful service.
Food was poor and bland, service was mediocre. Won't return
Beautiful surrounding. Excellent selection in items and presentation. Staff was fabulous.
One of our favorite places to go for lunch. I just wish they would provide the complimentary chips again upon request instead of charging $3!!!
I ordered the Fried Chicken and I needed to send one piece back to the kitchen because it was cold almost frozen
Reserved this venue for my 50th birthday dinner, and since I was from out of town I went on previous reviews. The hostess was accommodating when I phoned to add a 3rd person to our reservation. However, upon our arrival we were not greeted- nor did the hostess smile once while we waited for our table.
The wait staff, however, was wonderful. Attentive and polite. Did not rush us - it did take awhile to receive our meal- on this particular event we were not ushering out the door. Drinks, apps and food outstanding...
They appeared to be a bit short staffed a bit stressed out but overall great experience. Can’t beat the view.
What has happened to this restaurant? It used to be our go-to scenic spot for years. the food was always fine but the view is the real draw. The last 3 times we have "tried" to eat here the service has be horrific! this time we just left after 30 minutes of being ignored at our table - no water, no waiter, nothing. Sad that we will be crossing this place of our list.
Wasn’t very crowded but beautiful views and facility with delicious food. We enjoyed the crab cakes along with our main courses. We would recommend for a quiet evening dinner.
