Escena Lounge & Grill Ratings and Reviews
Since I've discovered this restaurant, everyone I've taken to Escena has thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff are always friendly and their service well-timed, never obtrusive but attentive. When the weather and sunlight permits, the mountain vista views are wonderful and the plentiful outdoor seating is great. Not the most extensive of menus, there are always items sure to please. A neighborhood favorite that I know I'll repeat in the future.
I’ve visited Escena many times before but this was the first time I’ve visited them in the evening. The location is very convenient to home and the surrounding areas. Beautiful room with great servers and a view of the golf course. Watch for the road runners that are plentiful.
I enjoyed the dinner and the drinks. I appreciated the waiters recommendations for wine and explaining portion sizes. My mother in law really loves Escena and I highly recommend it for breaks, lunch and dinner.
You guys didn’t give me the point on open table even I had reservations for over 30 people. Hope that can be fix You guys didn’t give me the point on open table even I had reservations for over 30 people. Hope that can be fix .
Other then that everything ok except for over cooked dry hamburger .
I made a reservation for a birthday dinner for 7 guests on Open Table several weeks ago for Tuesday, October 24th. I received a confirmation from Open Table. Later I had to revise the number of of the guests to 8 and received another confirmation. The day before the dinner I was sent a reminder. The night of the dinner we arrived at the restaurant and the place was closed. When I called Escena there was a message stating that they will not be open for dinner on Mondays and Tuesdays until October 28th. We had to scramble to find an alternative.
So, my question is how was it possible to make a dinner reservation at a restaurant that wouldn't be open? Needless to say, I was not pleased. Additionally, why didn't the restaurant check its Open Table reservations, note the problem and get in touch with me? They certainly had time. Very shoddy.
It’s a great place for lunch with the spectacular views and the food is good. But don’t make a reservation for later than 7:30 because they’ll tell you it eight or 815 that the kitchen is closing in five minutes and then at 9 o’clock they tell you that they’re locking up the facility and it’s time to go. So it was hard to sit and enjoy a couple of drinks before dinner and then having to rush to get out before we were locked in for the night
We have dined there often and this was the first time that we chose to take some friends. Because we were with a group we chose not to speak up about the quality of our meal. We have gotten The vegetarian burger many times and it's always been excellent. However on Wednesday night it was terrible; very dry and crumbly and tasteless.
A bad start. We were served rolls that were stale. The butter had a refrigerator taste. The Caesar salad was a bit small for the price. Corkage charge was reasonable. Meatloaf was very good. Same for the blue cheese burger & fries. The chocolate-espresso desert was certainly not a tower (too small).
The 1st time we dined there, it was a wonderful experience. This time, NO.
The restaurant was empty at 7pm on a Saturday evening which allowed us to have a pleasant time laughing and at full attention by the wait staff. We came to celebrate my birthday, and I was overwhelmingly pleased by everything. The drinks were good, the food was delicious, the staff was very courteous. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!
We've enjoyed this restaurant on numerous occasions since we moved to the Coachella Valley in 2012. The views from the patios and inside tables near the windows have wonderful views of a golf course and the mountains. The ambiance is suitable for business lunches as well as get-togethers with friends. Food offerings are all very good. Service sometimes suffers, perhaps because the staff is responsible for so many customers; for example, it's often hard to find someone to re-fill our water glasses or coffee cups during busy times.
