Escena Lounge & Grill
Excellent as always. Servers are very efficient and good! One of our FAVORITE places in Palm Springs. We never are in town without a good meal here! Keep up the great venue!
Excellent service and views from the patio. The Avocado Toast and the Mushroom Burger were delicious.
Nice welcome ... great food & service ... great view at sunset ...
Beautiful scenic view
A great neighborhood gem. Nestled in a golf course. Amazing sunset views. Great food and staff. Not your average club house fare. Far above the norm. Can compete with the best places in the Valley for a much better price and experience.
sad that they now charge $3 for the chips, they used to be brought to the table when we sat down and they were FREE
Very comfortable and relaxed, mid-century designed resturant with beautiful views. Extensive patio seating at both the front and back of the resturant, although a bit too hot to sit outside when we were there in mid-August for lunch. The lunch menu was pretty standard with the typical American Grill favorites but portions were large and reasonably priced.
The indoor seating was in a large open room with a high ceiling which could have easily included additional tables if necessary. There was also a large circular bar with various types of lounge seating available including both long curving bar height communal tables and curved couches for more intimate seating. I imagine the two fireplaces would enhance the atmosphere during the winter months.
Unfortunately the resturant closes at 3PM Sunday through Tuesday and is only open until 9PM the other days of the week. I guess no late night happy hours here...
Lovely surroundings in a spacious room with stunning views of mountains and golf course. It makes the most of its country club setting. The food is casual but well done. Cocktails are spot on.
Escena has been one of our favorites îsince moving to the desert three years ago. While we are usually there for lunch, we have also enjoyed Sunday brunch, so it made sense to try a mid-week breakfast visit. The restaurant was extremely quiet and the service a little slow given that fact, but we were in no hurry. Two of us had the bacon omelet, but the omelet was over cooked and the bacon a little tough— the delicious cherry tomatoes around which the omelet folded were the saving grace for the dish. My simple eggs and ham order was tasty, though the ham was a little on the thin side. What was most disappointing were the hash browns: undercooked and basically tasteless — make sure to ask for them to be on the crispy side. Of course, the views from the restaurant windows are exceptional and add to the comfortable chairs and quiet ambiance. Will we return? Certainly, one breakfast experience can’t outdo the wonderful experiences from two dozen lunch and brunch visits!
Service was very good. Food was delicious, enjoyed sitting afterwards to watch fireworks.
A real failure. Food was bland. Service was spotty.
A magical desert vibe, always delish food and easy professional service delivery. The views, the mid century modern architecture make the setting a delightful place to share a meal and a goblet of vino or a flute of bubbles. We'll be back!
Esena is always dependable for good food and a nice atmosphere. I’ve been there many times and I’ve not been disappointed. The food is always good and the service is very very nice.
Quiet Saturday lunch. Beautiful setting outdoors. Nice menu. Very tasty.
We met our friends for “Restaurant Week” all of us had already decided what we were going to order. Needless to say, we were really looking forward to our dinner. When we got there the waiter told us they were not serving the special menu...period. We had to speak to the manager, it took awhile, honestly we considered leaving. My girlfriend spoke to Kelli and she explained that they had a big event and the kitchen couldn’t handle the special event and the special menu. She was very generous in making it right. Thank you, Kelli for turning our experience into a good one!
It’s always a pleasure to dine here. Service is friendly and prompt, and the menu has a wide variety of choices to satisfy everyone. The beautiful scenery overlooking the golf course is a bonus!
Good place to take guests/visitors. Menu in need of updating. It’s nice to see ample wait staff again. Best view in town. Furniture in need of repair/cleaning.
This is a lovely venue and is quiet except for Wednesday evenings and Sundays when there is rather unpleasant sound. But i personally don't care for non melodic loud sounds, especially when they are guitar chords. Food is mediocre. The strawberry ricotta pancakes do not use real strawberries, it is sort of a ground product, maybe from a frozen mix. There was one discernible piece of strawberry. However the fruit plate is abundant and contained a nice variety. The cottage cheese tasted regular, not the cheaper low fat kind. Coffee is good. Had a weird Old Fashioned there once, but it was ok. Might have been made from a mix if there is such a thing. Chef and server were super about accommodating an egg allergy! Crab cakes are good. The 6 meatballs on the bar menu are only 4 and a bit dry. Order something else. There is an oily green sauce on the buns of the veggie burger, but no flavoring, sauce or anything on the burger itself. So of course if you are trying to avoid all the carbs of the bun you don't get any of the sauce, which has little flavor anyway, but would have been nice if it had been part of the contents, not spread on the bun. An absolutely gorgeous setting. Servers are very helpful. Nice background music, and it is very possible to have a conversation at Escena!
It was so dead but it took nearly two hours to eat with a party of six. I know we had appetizers but it was a slow experience for literally no one being there. Totally a mehhhhhh experience with slow service. Don’t bother dining on the weekends there
Been here several times during the regular season and enjoyed myself. This time in the off season everything went down hill. My mushroom burger, which I've had before , was not good at all. Meat was dry and tasteless and topped with a strange combination of mushrooms and blue cheese that was green? And the coleslaw was made from mushy broccoli? My friends meals were just OK, nothing more. Would recommend Escena during regular season only.
I have enjoyed dining at Escena several times. It never disappoints. The restaurant and staff consistently deliver great cuisine and service. The location is beautiful and inviting. This time I dined on fresh salmon salad and my partner had the popular fish sandwich. The homemade chips are very tasty too! Always a winner in my book.
Food continues to go downhill, uninspired and good food isn't that hard. Service varies from poor to ok. View is all it has going for itself at the moment.
Took my daughter for her birthday dinner and we had such a beautiful view, good food, and excellent service!
No one was at the restaurant. We were the only table and felt as if they didn't want us there
What a great place to spend a summer evening. The floor to ceiling windows give you an amazing view of the mountains and sunset and the exterior lighting provides amazing ambiance. We had the warm spinach salad, scallops and a burger - all great. Perfect place for date night or dinner with friends.
Go for the iconic view of Mt. San Jacinto and the Santa Rosa mountains while dining from the golf course adjacent terrace. The restaurant grill may have had an off day, but two of the four entrees were delivered incorrectly and had to be sent back. We were then overcharged on the bill, and had to have it corrected. The staff were friendly, and attempted to swiftly correct the errors. The food was unremarkable. I would return only on a rare occasion with out of town guests for the magnificent view and setting.
We had lunch enjoying the views of the mountains in their outdoor dining area, nice selection on menu, excellent service.
One of the best views of the mountains, over the golf course, watching planes fly in and out of the airport. Unfortunately we had to ask to have our table wiped upon arrival--staff didn't seem to notice debris, etc. Recommend Escena for breakfast and lunch. Quite pricey on the dinner menu, all things considered. Love this place!
Firstly, the greeter- slow, very casually dressed, loose hair, no makeup- it was a poor impression to start things off. The patio is starting to look shabby- no obvious floor and seating plan. Service slow, no energy, no pride of service. Food was marginally good. For a beautifully situated restaurant in a prestigious neighbourhood- this venue has slipped since its opening. In a city where style is abundant- there is very little here- almost none. It requires a new discipline in menu, food and service to bring people back. Also saw three tables come in (from the golf greens), not via the main entrance, and they were completely ignored until they left- the hostess wasn't watching for this and the servers ignored them- terrible attitude for a service industry. I will not be returning or recommending no matter how good the views. Very sad- it was once a favourite eating spot.
Always a wonderful setting and food is consistently okay. Service this tome was terrible. We felt bad for the new waiter because he clearly is not meant to be a waiter. Sweet, but inept. Brought and nearly opened a higher priced wine than we ordered. Good thing we caught it before he opened it. Believe this is a one-off experience in light of our previous visits. Setting is the selling point and food very average but reasonably priced.
The service from start to fin ish was very attentive and courteous. The views were stunning. The food was delicious.
Great ambience. Convenient for after-golf meal. Service friendly but slow.
Average menu for lunch....nothing stands out. Service is slow and can be unattentive...price for lunch (no alcohol or wine) with tax and tip $20......ample parking
my favorite lunch spot
Escena Lounge & Grill is one of my favorite dining experiences in Palm Springs. The view, service and food are excellent. I recommend it to all my friends.
If you're looking for one of the best views in Palm Springs, Escena is it. Simply breathtaking. Well worth putting up with the poor service and fair food.
Fabulous patio, very comfortable chairs, view to die for. But we sat for at least 10 minutes before service. Young inexperienced server was very pleasant and once we did see her service improved thereafter. Food was good but not exceptionsl. Prices were fair. Wine and beer fairly priced too.
Anniversary (54) dinner after visiting the Tram and Cabazon Outlet Store’s.
Had the beef/lentil soup --- very good. Honey dew/basil salad also good, as was the pear/pomegranate salad. Two entrees of halibut, a martini and glass of wine --- all good and reasonably priced. Would definitely go again.
