Hidden gem! Gourmet food that rivals any top Park City restaurant. Buffalo tenderloin was best steak ever. Sides were creative and delicious!

This restaurant is a mystery. On a night when every other place in Park City was booked between 5:30 and 8:30. Escala was empty. The service was confusing and confused. The food was fine. The prices? CRAZY. There was no reason for the high prices - not atmosphere, food, service, cache...nothing. Nope, something must change. I won't visit until it does.

Came here for NYE dinner. Unknowingly signed up for a prefixed menu. Food itself was actually decent but the wait staff was clueless. Forgot out “amuse” bite and attempted to comp us for the oversight with coffee at the end (that no one from our party wanted). The normal menu is what drew me to reserve in the first place but we won’t be back. Overpriced for what we got.

We were seated quickly and happy to see options on the menu that we enjoyed last year during our stay at the hotel. Server forgot to bring a salad for my daughter and my son's steak was undercooked. He asked for medium and it was rare. We still enjoyed our meal and the convenience.

This was quite possibly the most disappointing dining experience we have ever had. My family and I were really looking forward to the menu offerings, so we booked reservations for dinner while on vacation at the resort. However, when we arrived, we learned that only a buffet was available, and we were not permitted to order from the menu. Unfortunately, by this time, it was too late to make alternate arrangements. Our reservation was for just after 6:30 pm, yet some of the buffet offerings were already either no longer available or too cold to eat. Some of the food that was available was under cooked or of poor quality (e.g. brown/wilted iceberg lettuce in the salad). The service was equally poor, with wait staff disappearing and often nowhere to be found. To top it off, we were charged a ridiculous $55 per plate! We will never again dine at Escala.

Super overpriced and just plain bad food. The steak I paid to have added to my Caesar salad was so over cooked and grisly. It was inedible. My daughters salad was literally swimming in salad dressing making it a lost cause. Thankfully the service was efficient and friendly otherwise it would have been a complete bust.

There were 4 tables occupied with 2 servers - and somehow you could never find the server. Verrrrry slooooow. Food was uninspired and overpriced.

The service was outstanding. Thank you Cleo for arranging the s'mores for my daughter. Javier was also so kind to arrange transport for my family of 4 to and fro from Grand Summit hotel. The burger and buffalo were coked perfectly at medium and medium rare respectively.

Food was excellent. I had the short rib and he had the strip steak. Both fantastic, including the mac and cheese. Sadly, this place fell short on service. Our waitress never cracked a smile, offered no recommendations, and not very inviting. It is a beautiful restaurant, but empty...likely due to the service history. If they can fix this, I bet they would see a steady crowd.

We had a nice time dining here. The service was great, and the food was served quickly. The night we were visiting, the hotel was having issues with the gas (therefore it was very cold in the restaurant) however, the manager came over and explained the situation and let us sit where we wanted. He was very attentive and clearly knew how to manage his staff. Our waiter did an excellent job as well, and was very attentive. Although it would have been nice to see more vegetarian options on the menu, our overall experience was very positive.

We went there for thanksgiving dinner. It was just okay and definitely not worth $250.00. My son did not eat anything and we still had to pay $20 plus tax and tip for him. The mashed potatoes were lumpy, the food lacked flavor, the turkey was not from a whole bird, and they gave us cheesecake for dessert. Plus check your bill closely. We also had breakfast there (over $100!) and both times we were overcharged for items.

We had a nice quiet dinner on the last Tuesday in February. We very much enjoyed the various appetizers we shared, but thought that especially the wines by the glass were overpriced, especially when compared with the other first rate restaurants ant Canyon Village. Very much enjoyed the scallops, mac & cheese, lobster bisque and especially the fruit cobbler.

The service was not acceptable. Slow to have anyone wait on us, gave us the wrong beer and didn't notice, then didn't have the one my boyfriend wanted. The Old Fashioned I ordered was straight Bourbon, not drinkable. The chili and lobster bisque were good, but the sweet potato gnocchi was horrible. No flavor of sweet potato, but glutenous dough. You specify that that greens it's service with are Kale. I can't eat Kale and the waitress seemed to not care that we didn't like/couldn't eat the meal that was put in front of me. I clearly didn't eat it and complained about the dish, but there was no offer to remove it from my bill. I expected a lot more from the restaurant.

We went to Escala Provisions on Valentines Day with our two kids (age 6 and 5). There were limited options available but we were at hotel nearby so this worked well. The hostess (Sarah) and waiter (Matt - I think it was?) were excellent with our kids. We ended up having multiple courses and the kids loved it (which is quite a feat for them). All of the food from the appetizers to the desert was great. We'd definitely return.

I wanted to like this restaurant - has a nice atmosphere, but the food selection is somewhat limited. In our party we got several pizzas, scallops and the chicken. Everyone's response was the same - it was ok, nothing special. I expected better food actually. The sauce on the pizza was awful (out of a jar) and it was so dripping with cheese, that it was almost inedible. The chicken was rubbery, and the scallops were bland. I will say the staff was very nice. One other thing I did not like - the kitchen is open and I noticed the low level assistants in the kitchen were wearing head coverings, but the chef and the chef's first assistants were not wearing anything on their heads. Yuck! Isn't that a requirement? We did have better luck with the buffet breakfast, $25 full buffet, $14 cold buffet. They were very accommodating in making some items that were not on the buffet, and again, very friendly staff. When you can't get out, it is the only restaurant in the lodge, just don't have high expectations.

Everything was fine but nothing wowed me. I was looking for an alterantive to The Farm and Edge Steakhouse in Canyons Village but this did not live up to either one. Again, it was good but not great.

I had read the reviews of this restaurant and was a little concerned. We had early reservations and the establishment was not crowded. Having said that, I only ever saw two wait staff and our waiter was busy with a large group (10-12?) of which many were children. The host did come to our table and took our drink and appetizer order and the waiter took over after that. All in all, we did not wait for service because the host was not afraid to pitch in and help out.

While the decor is gorgeous and the location amazing if you're staying at the Hyatt Escala Lodge, the service leaves an awful lot to be desired. We waited 20 minutes for someone to come by the table to take a drink order. Some of us ordered soup, some salad. One of our salads arrived by itself. One was forgotten. The soup arrived a few minutes after the salads. The kids, who we wanted to feed ASAP, were waiting and waiting. After the third time we complained to the manager, we were asked to keep our comments to ourselves.

The food was good. The pizza is delicious, as is the bison burger. The beef short rib was good, but I think it was really a beef brisket in disguise.

There are better choices around the resort and in town...

We were very happy we got a reservation a peak date during President's Weekend break. We were amazed at how good the food and service was. We are definitely going back on our next trip.

We visited EPC on a Monday evening following the superbowl at 6PM and it was very quiet. The staff was very welcoming, friendly and efficient. The restaurant had an open floor plan with no separation of the bar area from the restaurant. TV's were playing in the bar, but the furnishings and glass fireplace in the restaurant area made for an elegant feel. For appetizers, I had the crab cakes and my husband had the artisan salad. Both were ample sized portions, so we shared them. For entrees, I had the grilled salmon served with aborio rice croquette and roasted beets, and my husband had the braised pork with saffron risotto and kale. Both dishes were done perfectly. We would definitely visit again on our next trip to Park City.

The service was great, the food was just ok, the soup was cold, the wine list was short and the entire dinner was very expensive. We were not told about the price of the buffet and our dinner for two kids, two adults was over $500. We didn't order any alcohol. My husband was promised that we would be able to order off the menu, should we not like the buffet and that an extensive wine list would be available. There was not menu available, buffet only and no extensive wine list.

The service was great, unfortunately, the food was not so great. The soup was cold. The only non meat entrée was halibut that was way over cooked.

We were very disappointed overall. We were not told that it was a buffet and not their regular menu. We were certainly not told that the charge was $125+ for adults and $65+ for kids(for hamburgers and chicken tenders). We were not told that our 5:45-6:00 reservation was the same time give to about 100 people. There are other restaurant buffet in the same area for about 1/2 the price.

Lovely and classy setting. The pizzas are awesome, the salads are expensive. The wine list isn't really a list. Needs work but the future is very promising. Deserts read better than they taste.

Stayed at Sunrise Lodge for 3 nights and this was the closest restaurant. We went on a sunday night around 7 pm. Not very crowded. Service was a wee bit slow but very personable and went above and beyond anything we asked. The food was VERY good...trout was two thumbs up...as was the hangar steak my husband had - both entrees were spectacular! We also had the scallop appetizer and it was delish...and split the ceasar salad, which was average. Indulged in a bottle of Wily Jack Zinfandel and that was a great choice - excellent. Dessert...the cranberry bread pudding totally put us over the edge...you could easily share that with 4 people. It was also very tasty and a treat with the tart cranberries. Go there...it was awesome!!

Don't be fooled. Just because this restaurant is in a Hyatt hotel doesn't mean the food can't be good, because it really is that good here. Nice casual ambiance, excellent service and food that's simply terrific. I stayed in a condo nearby and dropped in here because it was convenient toy lodging. It was a very good decision. I had the trout entre with scallops as an appetizer. Both were incredibly good.
