It is Jason the lobby. It is OK. Food is rice for a hotel and resort. The quality is not great. But there are not that many options around there.
The food was high quality and cocktails were good. It’s not a great place for kids and the prices are high relative to other restaurants. I appreciated their wine selection so maybe a nice spot for just adults seeking a quiet night out without a budget.
The place was essentially empty. The wait staff were attentive, but major hold up with pre-dinner drinks, and then they were not well made... maybe the bartender was having a bad day. The food came relatively quickly, but it was ok, nothing special, considering the price. Two days later no one could remember the meal or where we had dinner that night.. six other meals in town during the week that were better all around.
Waiter well intentioned but very disorganized. 1star
No vegan options until we asked the chef who prepared a very nice meal. 5 stars for his attitude
Manager jumped in to help 5 star attitude
Food average, but overpriced.
Tasty, excellent, precisely prepared food.
The Bison tenderloin was cooked correctly, the tartare was cut nicely, not randomly, and seasoned well. The trout was cooked well - including a crispy skin.
Anyway- The is a spot worth the walk. Sit back, enjoy the super tasty food.
Service is very good. Food is good but not wow. Overall good vibes, good food, good location.
Christmas Dinner was wonderful. Our server Eddie made the evening perfect. What a great experience...from the complimentary valet to the great meal.
We were more then pleased not just with our thanksgiving meal but also with the thoughtfulness of the head chef. One of my sons has severe treenut and peanut allergies. He is also autistic which makes him a very picky eater. You can imagine how this poses a problem when we eat out. Not only was the chef willing to accommodate the nut allergies but came out and specifically asked what my son would like to eat. He did not know my son was autistic but just that he didn’t want the set Thanksgiving menu. The chef made him his own Thanksgiving feast of Mac n cheese, French fries and pizza. These were all off menu items. He went above and beyond to give us all a wonderful, peaceful and delicious holiday meal. Our waitress even found some ice cream that was safe so my son could have dessert as well.
We’ve eaten at many restaurants and this was by far the most accommodating, kind and understanding dining experience we have had. Thank you so much! You have no idea how much we appreciate it.
Good place for birthday party.
Our son turned 8, and our server was wonderful.
This was our first time dining here and we had a fantastic experience! Awesome ambiance - very hip, great service and the food was delicious! Fresh, perfectly cooked and nicely flavored. Looking forward to heading back and checking out the deck once it warms up a bit! Grab a 2-for-1 and head up! You won't regret it!
Escala was just what we needed after a day of skiing. Flat bread was a generous portion and very good. The lamb and pork shank were done to perfection. Not very crowded, not sure why.
Ravioli was amazing also enjoyed the Mac n Cheese, the NY strip with foie gras butter was excellent. The s’mores dessert was a bit of a disappointment:/
Food was good with a narrow selection of tasty and creative dishes, but was too expensive. Service was very poor, probably due to disorganized management and kitchen as much as the server himself.
First time at this restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised. Food was good and decent portion. Dessert was amazing! The wait staff all signed a card wishing me a Happy Birthday!
Hidden gem! Gourmet food that rivals any top Park City restaurant. Buffalo tenderloin was best steak ever. Sides were creative and delicious!
This restaurant is a mystery. On a night when every other place in Park City was booked between 5:30 and 8:30. Escala was empty. The service was confusing and confused. The food was fine. The prices? CRAZY. There was no reason for the high prices - not atmosphere, food, service, cache...nothing. Nope, something must change. I won't visit until it does.
Came here for NYE dinner. Unknowingly signed up for a prefixed menu. Food itself was actually decent but the wait staff was clueless. Forgot out “amuse” bite and attempted to comp us for the oversight with coffee at the end (that no one from our party wanted). The normal menu is what drew me to reserve in the first place but we won’t be back. Overpriced for what we got.
Management was terrific. The server from some other country was not good.
We were seated quickly and happy to see options on the menu that we enjoyed last year during our stay at the hotel. Server forgot to bring a salad for my daughter and my son's steak was undercooked. He asked for medium and it was rare. We still enjoyed our meal and the convenience.
Very solid menu. Great cocktail list!
This was quite possibly the most disappointing dining experience we have ever had. My family and I were really looking forward to the menu offerings, so we booked reservations for dinner while on vacation at the resort. However, when we arrived, we learned that only a buffet was available, and we were not permitted to order from the menu. Unfortunately, by this time, it was too late to make alternate arrangements. Our reservation was for just after 6:30 pm, yet some of the buffet offerings were already either no longer available or too cold to eat. Some of the food that was available was under cooked or of poor quality (e.g. brown/wilted iceberg lettuce in the salad). The service was equally poor, with wait staff disappearing and often nowhere to be found. To top it off, we were charged a ridiculous $55 per plate! We will never again dine at Escala.
Terrible service. Food is mediocre. Not good value
Bison Tartare👍 Pork shank👍Mushroom Ravioli👍Lamb tenerloin👍
Low noise level
Attentive, polite, caring staff
The place was empty! I would have left but my kids were starving. Service and food were both mediocre. Would not recommend.
Super overpriced and just plain bad food. The steak I paid to have added to my Caesar salad was so over cooked and grisly. It was inedible. My daughters salad was literally swimming in salad dressing making it a lost cause. Thankfully the service was efficient and friendly otherwise it would have been a complete bust.
There were 4 tables occupied with 2 servers - and somehow you could never find the server. Verrrrry slooooow. Food was uninspired and overpriced.
The service was outstanding. Thank you Cleo for arranging the s'mores for my daughter. Javier was also so kind to arrange transport for my family of 4 to and fro from Grand Summit hotel. The burger and buffalo were coked perfectly at medium and medium rare respectively.
Food was excellent. I had the short rib and he had the strip steak. Both fantastic, including the mac and cheese. Sadly, this place fell short on service. Our waitress never cracked a smile, offered no recommendations, and not very inviting. It is a beautiful restaurant, but empty...likely due to the service history. If they can fix this, I bet they would see a steady crowd.
We had a nice time dining here. The service was great, and the food was served quickly. The night we were visiting, the hotel was having issues with the gas (therefore it was very cold in the restaurant) however, the manager came over and explained the situation and let us sit where we wanted. He was very attentive and clearly knew how to manage his staff. Our waiter did an excellent job as well, and was very attentive. Although it would have been nice to see more vegetarian options on the menu, our overall experience was very positive.
We went there for thanksgiving dinner. It was just okay and definitely not worth $250.00. My son did not eat anything and we still had to pay $20 plus tax and tip for him. The mashed potatoes were lumpy, the food lacked flavor, the turkey was not from a whole bird, and they gave us cheesecake for dessert. Plus check your bill closely. We also had breakfast there (over $100!) and both times we were overcharged for items.
We had a nice quiet dinner on the last Tuesday in February. We very much enjoyed the various appetizers we shared, but thought that especially the wines by the glass were overpriced, especially when compared with the other first rate restaurants ant Canyon Village. Very much enjoyed the scallops, mac & cheese, lobster bisque and especially the fruit cobbler.
The service was not acceptable. Slow to have anyone wait on us, gave us the wrong beer and didn't notice, then didn't have the one my boyfriend wanted. The Old Fashioned I ordered was straight Bourbon, not drinkable. The chili and lobster bisque were good, but the sweet potato gnocchi was horrible. No flavor of sweet potato, but glutenous dough. You specify that that greens it's service with are Kale. I can't eat Kale and the waitress seemed to not care that we didn't like/couldn't eat the meal that was put in front of me. I clearly didn't eat it and complained about the dish, but there was no offer to remove it from my bill. I expected a lot more from the restaurant.
We had a great time dining at EPC for Valentine's Day!!! We had top notch service from Tyler. Tyler was great with accommodating some changes I need to make on my due to allergies. We're looking forward to dining again.
We had the reservation for 2 wks and we're still not able to sit in the restaurant. We were placed in the bar area. The service was awful and slow. The food was not good either. Don't go to Esacala!!
Got our food order wrong and although the staff was nice the food was overpriced and bland
We tried the salmon and it was perfect - crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The scalopes were also very good. Service was very attentive and fast.
Great food and service. Beautiful view. Highly recommended.
Nice restaurant and good food for the area it's in as well.
