Only complaint was that vegetables were not cooked, the 4 of us were served cold meals and two were sent back to be reheated, and were returned luke warm.
The restaurant was not busy - on the patio only three tables (10) people were there.
Our opinion is that we would not return here for dinner.
To many good restaurants in Palm Springs area.
Service was embarrassing. We had to find a server. People who were seated after our group, had water , wine and food order even before we were acknowledged.
We had to get up from our table to find a manager to help us get a waitress.
Love the outdoor seating. Casual dining. Excellent menu
We've eaten at Ernie's several times and always enjoyed it. It's a great spot to relax, have a drink and a burger or sandwich. Food is always good and the service is excellent as well. It's not 5 star cuisine but it doesn't try to pretend it is either. It' just good solid comfort food.
The Asian chicken salad is my husband’s go to meal. All the food is delicious plus the golf course & mountains are a beautiful view
I was there a week before and really liked Ernies, so brought my family back. But the second time it wasn't as good..food didn't seem as good, and the service was just ok.
Anyway, I would most likely go somewhere else next time.
Nice bar and restaurant venue. Good food. Server attentive, however food came far too early (main course rriving before we could finish salad).
Very friendly staff, though our server was not very attentive. Drinks were fair at best and apparently the bartender doesn't know the difference between a manhattan and an old fashioned. Gorgonzola chips and pretzel were very good. Short rib fries were pretty food as well. Had to send burger back because it was overcooked. Better the second time, but still not right.
I always want to like it here. Staff is great
Views outside are great. Sports bar inside
Is fun. However the food is poor to fair at best
And the prices are high for what you get
The food and service were excellent but when I informed them that I made my reservation on Open Table I was told that we could only sit outside and it was hot. I was surprised that they would admit such a thing.
Nice menu and beautiful view!!!!
Ernie's is well-poised to appeal to anyone who has an interest in golf (and its history). The course it overlooks is legendary, and artifacts about that tie the establishment to landmarks of golf in the west - from world-class players in golfing history to US presidents to global entertainment celebrities, it's a mecca for the golf enthusiast - AND for someone seeking a good meal at a reasonable price in a relaxed but comfortable atmosphere. We'll go again!
Been to Ernie's before and the food was great and service always good. Food not so good this time. Went the comfort food route and ordered meatloaf. The meatloaf was tough and had no flavor. The little gravy on it didn't help. The buttermilk mash potatoes were all dried out and crumbly. I'm not a complainer so I didn't say anything. I thought I could salvage the night with some carrot cake. Not the case. The cake was hard as a rock. I decided then I should bring it to their attention. The waitress was very apologetic and didn't charge me for my meal. Everyone else's meals were great so I'm not saying to avoid the place, just the meatloaf.
We were practically the only ones there. Food was beyond terrible for the four of us. Waiter did not get the order right. We are members and will not go back.
We live in PGA West and have enjoyed dinner and lunches at Ernie's for the past ten years. Last year for the first time we experienced uneven quality to the portion size. (I.e. The amount of meat/items on the Cobb salad). Last nights meal was well portioned and everything delicious. Service as always was excellent!
Always great food & service. We love the view of the golf course.
I like Ernies because its close to our home and relaxed atmosphere. Service is good. Food is okay-not for foodies.
Great spot to watch golf
Easy in and out
Good always good
Sports bar ambience
Only downside was we wanted outside seating... not available.
Marco was server. He was excellent!
Tuna was not fresh and we had to send 2 meals back to the kitchen. Salad were not served promptly but were nrought with the main course.
We've been to Ernies several times so decided to go there for Easter brunch.
When we arrived we were immediately greeted by the hostess who told us we had 9 minutes to order brunch, then it changed to lunch. As we were walking to the table she told us we now had 8 minutes. The waiter arrived and told us we had 5 minutes to order brunch. We said fine, we'd just have the lunch menu. We were seated inside rather than outside on the patio like we had requested and had been confirmed with the hostess but then she explained they had lunch groups that overlapped with our time so could not accommodate us outside.
The service was fair, the waiter was nice but not quick and the food was ok.
Go there to sit outside on the patio for a relaxing meal, otherwise skip it.
We have been going to lunch and dinner at Ernies for the past ten years. This past year we have seen the food quality plummet. The menu has changed this past season which is usually good - but unfortunately we have found the food to be tasteless and mediocre at best. The bar is great and the service is usually very good. During the past season we have ate there approximately 10 times as we live in PGA West and the location is convenient for us. The food quality was consistently poor. For instance - the amount of toppings on the Ernie's Cobb salad had decreased hugely. The champagne dressing on our last salad was too oily and not seasoned. Someone needs to manage the kitchen and not attempt to save food cost at the cost of decreased substance and flavor of your well know excellent dishes.
We've been to Ernie's twice now. Both times we were very happy with overall service. We have only ordered off the luncheon menu. Great items were there local bowls - i.e. the California bowl with red quinoa, vegetables and your choice of meat. Salads were good too. We have run across one item we did not like and that was the pastrami reuben. Pastrami was sliced very thick. Seemed more like corned beef. The Pastrami did not taste like typical pastrami. We will avoid this menu item.
All in all - a fun place to eat - with great golf course views. We will be back!
Service terrible. Ahi tuna was not grilled properly on outside- pan obviously not hot- so a gray chunk of tuna served with randomly cut wedges of tomato & onion. So poorly done
Food was very very bad. Burgers were burned and inedible. They couldn't even make a grilled cheese, it was hard as a rock, you could hit it against the table
Setting was nice, service was attentive and drinks were fine, so as long as you avoid eating entirely you'll be fine.
Ernies once was a great dining place worth going to at the Golf Resort. But now just a golf course coffee shop.
Always understaffed, before lunch ordered a to go breakfast sandwich, only to find it was not correctly made when i opened the box on the golf course.
Ordered a burger for lunch, which was overcooked along with the fries.
Myself and some coworkers went to this restaurant for dinner one night before our conference started. We opted for an outdoor table overlooking the golf-course - so the setting was beautiful. The server wasn't on point and seemed to have no sense of time. Several tables were seated and had drinks and appetizers before our first drink arrived. However the food diminished the impact of the not so great service. Myself and one of my coworkers ordered the Pan-Roasted Free Range Chicken Breast prepared with Kale, broccoli, brussel sprouts, carrots, apple and a balsamic reduction. It was amazing. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the preparation was outstanding. I would recommend and definitely would go back.
The view of the closing holes on the Tournament , under the shade , are well worth the golf cart drive. Food is fun for families and a great fun evening.
I had a great ahi tuna nicoise salad. The 2 ladies in the group ordered the cob salad. When they saw mine, they thought that is what a cobb should actually look like. It had big chunks of egg and other ingredients and a minimal amount of lettuce. Their cobb salads were 99% lettuce. They had to really dig around to find anything else. They were very disappointed.
We've been to Ernie's many times and really hope the cobb salad improves next time.
Service was great but the ladies didn't feel like complaining about the salads because we were pretty hungry and they didn't want to send back.
Always a beautiful view. Additionally a good cocktail selection.
Menu offers sandwiches to steaks.
A nice evening.
Service slightly slow due to crowd ,nothing horrid.
Beautiful setting and very nice lunch menu. Reasonable prices for a wonderful lunch.
Our table for 5 was near the door , so they constantly had the door open delivering outdoors and we were disturbed by cold breezes from outside , other than that ....the food was very good
The view on the patio is spectacular. Food was good, although service a bit slow.
Food very good as well as the service. Very pretty setting.
We really love this patio and the food is good but unfortunately the service is extremely slow
Excellent service and a wonderful place for a casual lunch- especially after golf.
Ernie's used to have wonderful food. With each ownership change, the food gets worse. The atmosphere is wonderful with the golf crowd and sports fans and numerous televisions. But the food is just okay. Sad. They changed the menu at Adobe Grill too (same owners) and it's no longer wonderful. Both have incredible settings... too bad the menus/food don't match.
Had a spot by the fireplace on a night with a full moon over the lake. The food was great and a lot of it. Half price on certain wines was a pleasant surprise. The waiter, Raul, was extremely attentive. We'll be back.
Just average. Menu is kind of limited. Good for lunch or after golf.
