It was spectacular as always
I have been there for lunch and dinner and I have not been disappointed
The Hostess was great the people who brought the food to the table were great the person filling the water and offering us bread were great the food was great the ambiance was great the prices for what had were good, but our waiter is the only reason I’d give it 4 stars. No personality felt like he was trying to rush us out. I would go back again but if we had to sit in his section I would leave...
Ernies always provides a great meal with excellent service!
Service was very good. My wife ordered the Crab bisque soup but they said it wasn’t available after the waitress told us about it. The Crab linguine had very little crab in it but when we mentioned it they brought a additional cup. Wine and desert were nice
Excellent service and food. I really enjoyed my beet salad and the filet mignon was perfection. We will definitely come back and I've already recommended Ernie's to friends and family.
We took our friend to dinner for her birthday and wanted it to be a special evening. We were not disappointed!
The hostess greeted us with the information that we would have a table instead of a booth which was not a problem and we were immediately seated and given water and warm bread with a delicious olive tamponade as well as butter.
The wine and spirits list on an iPad at the table was an interesting touch and appropriate for a list as extensive as Ernie’s. Our waiter introduced himself and shared the soup selection for the evening, took drink orders and returned to take our dinner order. After salads and soup it took 25 minutes for our meals to be delivered to the table and we requested a second helping of bread. All 4 meals were worth the wait - the rib eye and salmon dinners were excellent and the Dungeness crab and squid ink linguini was amazing! The birthday girl had the duck breast and thought it could have been a little pinker for medium rare but she liked it just fine. Even though we were all full we shared 3 desserts between us: the creme brûlée had a nice crunchy caramel with creamy custard underneath, the chocolate cake was moist and delicious but the crowning glory was the triple berry bread pudding with a scoop of ice cream.
Overall we had a delicious meal and a lovely evening.
Excellent service, food and ambiance.
Ernie's never fails to impress! The food is amazing and the service is top notch - I am THRILLED there is a place of this caliber in Manteca!
Gerardo and the team at Ernie's are first class! Great food and stellar service and attention by the staff.
Thank you! We will pass on your compliments to the team!
Very impressed with the food and the service. Location is something to be desired, but you couldn't tell from the inside.
Thank you very much for your kind feedback!
Best restaurant in Manteca, Stockton or Ripon!! Unbelievable atmosphere. Great Service!!
Thank you!! We appreciate your feedback!!
Thank you for celebrating your special day with us!
I have been to Ernie's many times and was looking forward to sharing with my coworkers. I am finding my visits are more and more inconsistent with service and food quality. some of our food was cold and dishes did not come as described and we were not alerted to this being the case ahead of time. Server did not appear to know the menu or the specifics of the dishes being offered. Sad to see the decline.
Delicious food, fantastic atmosphere and service! One of our favorites for a nice dinner or lunch out.
Birthday dinner. Great as usual. Fantastic dining.
Wait service was very slow in ordering a cocktail at the table, and wait time to order dinner was very slow, and never was asked if we wanted more wine
Thank you for your review. We strive to offer great service and by the sound of it, we did not hit that mark with you. I apologize if you feel like service could've been a little more prompt. I thank you for taking the time to give us feedback so that we may improve on our skills. -Kim Stone 209.239.3351
We arrived at 5:30 and asked if we could be seated early since the dining room only had a table of 8 but the answer was no but we could wait in the bar until 6:15. Did not understand when the dining room was almost bare.
We were seated at 6:15 and the table 8 were gone with only with only a couple of customers in the dining room. We ordered 2 glass of wine a cheese board, and Caesar salad which came out timely but our 2 Entrees: one salmon and scallops did not. About an hour later I had to ask for our waiter to come over so I could ask where are our Entrees. His answer was "it is not my fault" I told him didn't say it was your fault so he said he would get the manager. Customers who came in after us, were finished with diner , payed their bill and were leaving. The waiter brought over 2 glass of wine to be "on the restaurant" which I told him "no I am driving", where is our Entrees and the answer again "it is not my fault". It was now 8:00 I told him get me the bill we are leaving he said there would be no charge. No manager also 1 of the owners in the bar did not come over to explain. This experience was terrible.
We traveled 35 miles for this dinner.
Ernie's we will not be back!!!
P.S. Your parking is terrible.
Thank you so much for your review. Unfortunately the experience you had was not normal for our setting but we did drop the ball during your stay so I do apologize. No excuses but our restaurant and team were slammed, we had multiple large parties (one was not visible to guests in the main dining room.) I wish we would've communicated better with you and your guest so that you would have not had that experience. I thank you for reaching out and sincerely apologize. -Kim Stone 209.239.3351
The drinks were well prepared and copious quantity. Soups were outstanding. Entrees were tastefully prepared and arrived warm when served. Dessert was excellent. Our waiter was outstanding, it didn't detract that I was his pediatrician as a child!
Thank you so much for your kind review! We will pass it along to your server! Happy Holidays! -Kim S.
Great experience. Wonderful food and ambiance. To top it off all of the service was exceptional especially our waiter Gerardo. He was very polite and fun at the same time. I would go back again just to see Gerardo.
Thank you so much for your review! We will be sure to pass it on to Gerardo! Happy Holidays! -Kim S.
Happy very good
This is great restaurant for dates and celebrations!
Great place to dine. Don't let the location in a strip mall fool you. Its a cool little with delicious food and superb service. We will be back.
Romantic Birthday Dinner
Went for dinner while in Modesto-Salida area. Nice size portions. Steak was great. Would return next oppose get to return to the area. Highly recommend
We enjoyed truffle risotto and Cacio e Pepe pasta as appetizer. They were great about letting us split and share these plates. We also shared 2 wedge salads. These were great! Everything we ate was delicious but all of our entrees came lukewarm or cool! The service was attentive. We didn’t like the occasional wafting odor of cigars each time someone came in from the patio.
Enjoyed the food and cocktails. Nice ambience with white linens and fresh flowers on the table. Great wine list. Friendly and professional service. It's definitely much nicer inside than looking from the outside. Will recommend!
It’s an unassuming restaurant located next to a casino. Not impressive on the outside, but then you walk in to a beautiful oasis.
Gregory server, excellent
wine selection, excellent and the prices verify it
creamed spinach, one of the best ever
list says it all, the place is fantastic, the staff could work in any upper end steakhouse in the world and excel. the price reflects what you are receiving, if you can't understand that, this not the place for you
The food, service, and drinks were excellent! A little pricey, but we will definitely come back.
A very fine restaurant in a low-rent location. Entrance from the outside looks an anonymous as a speakeasy. Inside is another story entirely. It's worth the stop for tourists going back and forth between Yosemite and the Bay Area. It was definitely worth the 60 minute drive for lunch -- even the 120 minute drive back to Sacramento in rush hour. Dungeness crab sandwich, burger, harvest salad, steak and beef tartar, clam chowder, cheese platter, and almond cake were well prepared and presented, and enjoyed by all. The house cabernet (a Lord) was a worthy complement. We always felt welcome and never felt pressure to leave -- we stayed more than two hours. An all-together pleasant experience, particularly for our guests, visitors from the East Coast.
Corkage to high! Everything else perfect! Waitress Nicole was fantastic! Dinner was awesome !
I requested my burger medium, came back very rare.
Our dinner was amazing. I had the Duck and my fiancé had the pork chop.
Our server Gregory was also amazing.
This WAS my favorite restaurant. Very disappointed in the new chef and the changes to the menu and the taste and quality of the food. I go to Ernie’s fairly frequently for lunch and had previously recommended it to family and friends. I recently ate there for the last time. I had heard that the chef was unveiling a new menu and wanted to check it out. It included a lot of appetizers, a lot of small salads, a lot of larger salads, sandwiches, two soups, and just three entrees. Boring. Gone from the menu were my favorite entrees, like the wild salmon with risotto and vegetables. There was a salmon dish, but it sounded more creative than tasty to me. Anxious to hear the special of the day, I was disappointed to hear it was yet another salad: blackened salmon with arugala. My friend and I reluctantly decided on the New England clam chowder and a small Caesar salad. The waiter brought bread. Gone was the delicious baked bread that would melt in your mouth and in its place was toasted sourdough, like one can make at home. It was served with butter and an olive/garlic/avocado(?) mixture that sounds better than it tasted to me. The soup was mostly pureed with extremely small pieces of potatoes. I had a few clams in my soup and my friend got none. The soup had a funny taste. Neither I nor my friend cared for it much, which was surprising given that we love clam chowder and always enjoyed the soups at Ernie’s, like the pureed carrot and ginger, asparagus, and mushroom soups. Then came the salad we ordered. I could barely eat mine. Too much dressing and too much vinegar, and we had to cut up the large pieces of romaine on our own. We were still hungry and decided to order dessert. The bread pudding of the day seems to be the bread pudding of the summer: blueberry. I prefer the ever-changing pudding, especially the apple or the butterscotch. There was a new dessert on the menu: an almond cake...with blueberries. Yawn. We settled on two lattes that were okay and not worth $4.
They have amazing food and the mood there is lovely
The food and atmosphere were both amazing. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but once you get inside it is very nice.
Wonderful customer service from the moment we entered for lunch.
Beautiful location for our girls lunch. Food was perfectly prepared- the skirt steak was tender and delicious!
A true gem in Manteca!
